Trick or Treat!

Hi Friends!  I'm so happy to be sharing this October mood board inspired card with you today!   To create this card, I first cut a piece of Neenah white cardstock using the largest stitched rectangle die.  Then I stamped and masked off the background images using copic-friendly black ink.  The haunted house was first stamped from the Happy Haunting stamp set .  Then, I masked the house using masking paper and stamped the images of two trees from critters in the forest stamp set .  I masked off the trees and then ink blended a sky using the following distress oxide inks (top to bottom): chipped sapphire , shaded lilac and tumbled glass .  Distress oxide inks in seedless preserves and dusty concord added to the bottom edge for ground color.  The background was splattered using water, white acrylic ink and black acrylic ink. Next, I unmasked the images and colored them using copic markers.  Images from fox costumes before n' afters ...

Pick of the Patch Mini Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends! Fall is in full swing and today I am excited to share with you a clean and simple mini slimline card! Have you tried a mini slimline card yet? I am really digging this size because sometimes, I feel like a full slimline card is overwhelming... So much card front to cover, so much inside to write in. So the mini size is a great in between size to stretch your scene but not feel overwhelmed.  For today's card, I used Pick of the Patch from Lawn Fawn . I stamped and masked off the pumpkin and squirrel images to create this one layer card. With the masks still in place, I ink blended the background with some Distress Inks ( abandoned coral , spiced marmalade , mustard seed , crushed olive --you can use Distress Oxides) to create what I like to call an autumn rainbow! I splattered some water and then spritzed it with tarnished brass Distress mica spray . I hope you can see it in the pictures... it is much shinier in person! Once the background was done, I removed...

Aloha

Hello friends! It's Ashley today, and I am so happy to be back on the BRI blog for a guest post! I have been loving tropical cards lately and decided to make one for all of you! Since I can't travel to the beach, I might as well bring a little of the beach to my crafting! I grabbed some of my favorite Pretty Pink Posh summer stamps to make this (almost) one layer card! I started this card by stamping my images from Pretty Pink Posh Tropical Birds and Tropical Toucans onto white cardstock, masking as I went. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I wanted to color with Copics later. Once all my images were stamped and masked, I was ready for ink blending! I used Antique Linen Distress Oxide for the sand and Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry , Dried Marigold , and Squeezed Lemonade for the sky. I splattered the background with acrylic paint in gold and white, then heat set it. I removed the masks and colored my images with Copic markers. I added some hig...

You Are So Sweet

Hello everyone and happy August! It's Ashley today with a card featuring the cutest little bunny! Look how adorable he is with his cookie! I started by stamping the pile of cookies from Evelin T. Designs Coffee Loving Critters in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink on my card and a piece of masking paper . I cut out my mask and covered the cookies before stamping the other three images onto my card with the Jet Black ink. I created masks for those images and covered them as well so I could ink blend my background. I used Post It tape to mask off the bottom part of my card with a straight line. I grabbed my blender brushes to keep the colors soft and blended Lawn Fawn inks in Minty Fresh , Mermaid , and Deep Sea around my images. When my blending looked how I wanted, I removed the masks and colored my images with Copic markers . I trimmed an eighth of an inch off of each side and added some stitching using the second biggest die in the Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Double Rectan...

When it was done I cut it out with Craft Knife. The next step was the backgrou...

Sweetest birthday | Avery Elle

Happy Monday lovelies and welcome to my next post, it's Mona here! Today I am showing you a sweet one layer card featuring Avery Elle stamps. I hope you will enjoy it. For my A2 card I stamped cute ice-creams from the Sweetest stamp set then masked them all with sticky notes. The next step was the background, so I stamped flowers and leaves from the Toucan Party Stamp Set . When it was done I removed the masking and began coloring with my Copics. It's a little time consuming but it's worth it. First I colored the blue background with B-18 then the leaves (YG01, YG03, YG17) and finally the flowers (Yelow: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19 Purple: RV52, RV63, RV55, RV66). When the background was done, I colored the popsicles with the same colors as the flowers (Yelow: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19 Purple: RV52, RV63, RV55, RV66) and for the stick I used E42, E43 E44. The next step was heat embossing. I heat embossed the "Sweetest" sentiment directly to my card...

Hello lovelies and welcome to my next post, it's Mona here! Today I am showing you a step by step photo tutorial with the Pretty Pink Posh - Happy Mail Stamp Set . I hope you will enjoy it. I picked the small envelope from the stamp set and stamped around the card base with masking. As you see I used sticky notes for it. When it was done I cut out the center with Craft Knife. I stamped my images and colored them with my Copic Markers then I fussy cut them. I blended my card with Picked Raspberry , Tattered Rose , Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks and Mini Ink Blending Tool . You are a diamond Heffy Doodle card

Hi, it's Mona here! For today I created a colorful card with Heffy Doodle products. These stamps are absolutely cute so I mixed the Elephant of Surprise and Geology Rocks stamp sets, for the gem land look! :)  First I created the gem hill with lots of masking, using the  Geology Rocks  stamp set, then I colored it with Copic markers and fussy cut it. After this I colored the elephant from the  Elephant of Surprise  stamp by using warm toned greys Copic markers. The background is made with  Peacock Feathers  and  Blueprint Sketch  distress oxide inks. Finally I heat embossed the sentiment with  Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder . Thanks for stopping, see you next time. Love, Mona

You Make Me Ridiculously Happy

Hello, crafty friends! It's Cassie from Creatively Cass here, and I'm so happy to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog to share a card I made! It's been too long :) Today I'm sharing a card I made using some Honey Bee Stamps products that feature a fun and bright card front. Let's dive in! I started this card by taking a piece of A2 size 110 lb card stock and doing some stamping. I stamped the flowers from Honey Bee's Busy Bee stamp set, adding stems and leaves to each flower. I overlapped them, which required some easy masking. I colored in the petals and flower centers, but left the stems and leaves until after the next step, since I wasn't taking the time to mask them. Next came the ink blending. On the top I ink blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and the bottom I used Twisted Citron and a hint of Lucky Clover Distress Ink. As you can tell, the colored don't mix in the middle. Instead I faded them to white so that it just looked...

Swimming By with Sunny Studio Stamps!

Hey friends!!  I'm so happy to be joining the BRI blog today!!  I have a super fun card to share with you today so let's dive right in shall we?? One of my all time favourite stamp sets from Sunny Studio Stamps is the Magical Mermaids set.  Out of all the mermaid themed sets out there, I think this one is the cutest.  I stepped a little out of my comfort zone for this one and tried this masking technique for the first time. I started by cutting a heart mask using a sheet of Inkadinkadoo Stamping Mask Paper which was cut down to the size of an A2 card front and a heart die from Lawn Fawn .  I chose Bristol Smooth cardstock as I knew I wanted to do some watercoloring. I chose a bunch of the smaller images in the stamp set to fill the inside of the mask making sure to stamp over the edge of the mask. This is what I ended up with.. I chose a handful of colours from my set of Tombow markers to colour in the images first.  I then filled in and ...
