Fluttering By

Hi Friends! It is Dana here today and I am excited to be back sharing a card with you all. For my card I chose to use a few fun sets from Concord & 9th . Let's get started... I started my card by creating my background. I used the Fluttering By Turnabout Stamp Set and my Misti . Have you tried one of the Turnabout Stamps from Concord & 9th? They are so fun and easy to use. I love all the different patterns and designs they are available in. Make sure you check them all out here: Turnabout Stamps . Next, I used the Bold Butterflies Stamp Set to stamp the larger (focal) butterfly. These two sets work so well together though they can also be used alone.  I mounted the butterfly onto a frame that I had die cut with the Spring Circles Die from Pretty Pink Posh. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment from the Fluttering By Stamp Set directly onto my frame. Thanks for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed my card and I hope to be back soon to share another project with you all....

Thanks a lot!

Hey crafty friends! It's Julia here and I want to share this hospital thank you card with you! Since my dad was really  grateful  for the amazing care of the hospital staff during his stay, he asked me to make them a thank you card - and I  -  of course - was happy to oblige! I used the super cute Village Heroes stamp set by Lawn Fawn for this one!  First I stamped my images from Village Heroes Happy Village , Open Me , Get Well Before 'n' Afters and Butterfly Kisses onto Transotype Perfect Coloring paper and colored them in using Copic Markers .   I die cut the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Backdrop Portrait as well as the Stitched Cloud Backdrop Portrait out of bristol smooth cardstock. After that I ink blended Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink onto the background and Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles onto the hills.   For the sentiment I die cut the Scripty Thanks die twice out of white cardstock and I ink blend...

Moodboard Inspiration with Peggy

Hello! My name is Peggy and this is my very first post as a design team member for Butterfly Reflections, Ink! I am so happy to be here among such talented crafters and hope to inspire you with my work! Today’s card is a thank you card inspired by this month ’ s gorgeous moodboard featuring rose gold, powder pink, icy mint and deep space blue. I started by cutting a side folding slimline card base from white 300 gsm paper measuring 7 x 8.5 inch, scored at 3.5 inch using my EK success mini scoring board . From rose gold mirror board I cut a panel measuring 3.5 x 8.5 inch and a panel of white 300 gsm cardstock to do some ink blending measuring 3 x 8 inch. Next I taped my panel to my Tim Holtz glass media mat (travel size). I used three colors of distress oxide pads , starting at the bottom with dried marigold , then spun sugar and tattered rose . I used my Lawn Fawn Cloudy Stencil and some chipped sapphire distress oxide ink to overlay a cloud pattern. Lastly, I used distress o...

Peek-A-Boo Pets

Happy Friday!! It is  Dana  here today with a set of cards that might have you singing Old MacDonald Had A Farm by the end of my post!! Just kidding...but the  Avery Elle: Peek-A-Boo Pets  are just the cutest farm animals ever!! I started my cards by stamping the different animals from the  Avery Elle: Peek-A-Boo Pets stamp set  with the  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink . I then colored them with a variety of  Copic Sketch Markers . Next, I used the  Avery Elle: Peek-A-Boo Pets Elle-Ments Dies  to cut them out. I set the animals aside and began working on my card design. On my first card, I used the red plaid paper from the  MFT Stamps: Tiny Check 6x6 Paper Pad . I thought this was perfect for a farm scene! I mounted my paper to the bottom of my card and added a strip of blue cardstock. Next, I tucked my animals under the strip of paper and added their paws...too cute! To finish my card I stamped and die cut the birthday spe...

Thank You So Much!

Hello!  Merry Christmas!!  I hope this finds you happy, healthy and with those you love this lovely day!  Yes, I know that is a lot of exclamations but I feel Christmas is deserving of them.  With Christmas in mind or any Holiday you celebrate this season, I feel that a thank you card often goes forgotten.  I myself am guilty of it.  So for today's card I a made a Thank you card.  Let me tell you how I made this super easy card.  Minutes, I tell ya. First you I stamped my images from the Frosty Littles stamp set by Hello Blue bird with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I then colored them with my copics and gave detail with my white Signo Uniball pen.  Using the coordinating Frosty Littles dies , I cut the images out.  I then trimmed a small piece from the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Christmas 6x6 paper pad and adhered it to the card base.  I then trimmed down a piece of the Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust sparkle cardstock and adhered it t...

You Make My Heart Smile

Hello and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink. This is Tanya from Studio 5380 and today I have a pair of sweet thank-you cards to share with you: These bright, colorful cards were so much fun to make! I used the fabulous Die-namics Stitched Blooms set from My Favorite Things to create these amazing flowers and leaves. Next, the inky fun began with Distress Inks in lots of bright, happy colors including: Picked Raspberry Wilted Violet Squeezed Lemonade Spiced Marmalade Twisted Citron After inking up my flowers and leaves, I adhered them together with a bit of Ranger Multi Medium Matte glue and gave the centers a little sparkle with a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. Once my flowers were completed, I created a black and white background using a white card base and a black mat created with the Lawn Fawn Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Backdrop die. My sentiments and die cuts are from the My Favorite Things stamp sets, All Smiles and All About You....

One Altenew cover plate, three cards

Hello, hello, everyone! Today I've got three cards for you. They all have a few things in common: Altenew's Striped Leaf Cover Die , they are all 'thank you' cards AND they have all been made without a single stamp set in sight! Curious? Let's get to it then, shall we? For my first card I used the cover die as a stamp by inking it up with Altenew Lava Rock dye ink and then pressing down on slight grey cards stock. It didn't make a perfect stamped image, of course, BUT it was good enough! I added some details to each leaf petal with some Copic markers, YG01 and YG23. To add some extra details I also dabbed some Nuvo Jewel drops in Key Lime on each one, kind of like dew drops. I wanted to keep it simple sentiment wise so I just cut out the word 'thanks' in Brushed Gold card stock, using Altenew Inline Alpha Dies . I trimmed down the panel a tiny, tiny bit and added it to a white card base. Using foam tape of course. For my second car...

Holiday Thank you card

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!  It's Jacquie here on this Christmas Day sharing a holiday Thank you card.   This will likely be a thank you I send for a Christmas gift, I wanted it to have a seasonal winter feel to it, so I used Concord and 9th's Perfect Plaid stamp .  I simply stamped it in black ink on red card stock to create that fun buffalo check.  I trimmed it down for this card and used it as a backdrop.  The flowers and greeting are from a new Altenew layering set called Flower Arrangement .  I am in love with that font...isn't it gorgeous?  I did mostly second generation stamping to lighten up the flowers and make them more subtle.  I used the  coordinating die set  to cut them out and make a cute arrangement on my plaid panel. I also added a little berry accent stamping with one of my all time favorite sets  Altenew Beautiful Day. I finished it off by stamping the greeting and adding so...

Trio of Thank You Cards

Hi, again, Re-Inkers!  It's Andrea back with you today sharing a trio of fall-inspired "thank you" cards.  For all three cards, I used Neat & Tangled's Oak Leaf Stamp Set  with the coordinating dies and my Gansai Tambi watercolors . I began my cards by wetting some watercolor paper with clean water and then layered on various colors of paint.  I kept my brush fairly wet so that the colors would mix and mingle.  After each layer, I dried the paint with my heat tool before adding the next layer.  I forgot to count the number of layers, but it was around four or five, I believe.  Let me tell you, the first couple of layers looked like a hot mess, but I love how the leaves ultimately turned out. Once my watercoloring was dry, I die-cut the outline of the leaf.  Using some metallic paper from my stash, I die-cut the veins with the other die in the set and adhered that on top of the outline. After adhering each leaf to...

Thank You, Really.

Hey there, crafty friends! I definitely have mixed feelings about today's post. I'm excited to be bringing you another card, but it's my last post as a design team member for Butterfly Reflections, Ink. I've really enjoyed my time on the design team, and I'm really grateful to Vanessa to give me the chance! So this card is dedicated to her! I started out by using the My Favorite Things Sketchy Flowers stamp set to stamp out some floral images on some plain white cardstock using my favorite black ink . I then stamped in the filler images using  peach and green Hero Arts dye inks. After I had covered the entire card panel with the floral images, I used the My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edges die to cut a decorative edge across the panel. I also used the same peach ink and swiped it across a scrap piece of cardstock and used the same die to cut an additional color-coordinated piece to layer underneath the floral piece. I adhered the floral a...

Colorful Thanks

Hey there, crafty friends! It's Saturday once again so I'm happy to be on the blog today with this super colorful thank-you card. When I'm in a creative rut, I typically reach for the same technique every time--distress ink blending! I used my  Honey Bee Country Blooms stamp set  to create a super simple and quick background. I clustered the stamps all together on my acrylic block and then stamped them on to  watercolor cardstock  using  versamark  ink. When doing ink blending, I like to use watercolor paper because distress inks blend really well on the thicker watercolor cardstock. I  white heat embossed  the images and then started on the best part--the colorful ink blending! I used various colors of distress ink (Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch) and my  mini ink blending tool  and just let the inks do their thing! A few helpful hints on ink blending: 1. Blot off some of the ...

A Million Thanks!!

Hello everyone!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!  Can you believe it's over???  Time sure does fly.  Speaking of time flying by, today is a sad day for me because this will be my last official post as a design team member for Butterfly Reflections :(.  The last four months have been awesome to say the least.  And I was really in denial up until this exact moment, that my term was over.  I am so grateful that Vanessa took a chance on me. Being a part of this group was amazing in every way! For my project today, I thought it would be fitting to make a thank you card.  I started by gold heat embossing the flower image from the  Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia  set from WPlus9.  I stamped it repeatedly and moved the stamp around to be able to fill my entire card panel.  The Misti  worked great for this! I used my Tombow markers to watercolour the panel, as I seem to be addicted to those markers lately.  I k...

Golden Pineapple Thank You Card

Hi crafty peeps!  I love pineapples - they're so trendy right now!   I wanted to create a somewhat elegant thank you card using what could be considered a more cute-sy stamp.  The gold embossing gives it a richer look - and I love the versatility here!  More mileage from a stamp set is ALWAYS a good thing!! SUPPLIES Concord & 9th - Sophisticated Script Uppercase Concord & 9th - Sophisticated Script  Sunny Studio - Tropical Paradise  Love My Tapes - White Gold Dot Washi Copic Markers   Ranger - Gold Embossing Powder Versamark Ink Vellum Gold Cardstock I stamped the super cute pineapple from the Sunny Studio Tropical Paradise stamp set with Versamark ink onto a piece of vellum.   I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and used my Copics to add color to the back side of the vellum.   I really love the translucent, stained glass effect!   I set that aside and started on my sentiment panel. I...
