Cute Holiday Penguins

Hi crafty friends! Christmas is almost here so these adorable Sunny Studio penguins are busy getting ready for the holidays!  The penguins under the mistletoe actually come from a non-holiday set but I thought they would be perfect for the little mistletoe scene. My favorite penguin is the little guy with antlers enjoying the warm mug of cocoa! These Sunny Studio penguins are just the cutest! After cutting out the pieces for the center picture window card, I made my own patterned paper with the snow stamp from the Lawn Fawn set Window Scene: Winter and Lawn Fawn kiddie pool ink. I went with a pink and aqua color theme-- very non-traditional holiday colors but I just love them together! I used some kitsch flamingo Distress oxide ink to add a bit of color to the inside panels and to stamp the sentiments.  Supplies used: Lawn Fawn Center Picture Window dies Lawn Fawn Center Picture Window Add On dies Sunny Studios Penguin Party  (coordinating dies available here )...

Hippo Hooray!

Hi crafty friends! It's Jenn and I'm excited to be back on the BRI blog with a Clearly Besotted card for you! Did you know that BRI is one of only two US based retailers that carries Clearly Besotted ? I just love their cute sets, especially these chonky hippos from the Hippo Bird Day set ! For today's card, I wanted to try my hand at no line coloring. I used Ink on 3 Fadeout Ink ( Lawn Fawn jelly fish ink is similar) to stamp out my images and colored them with Copic markers. I am NOT an expert in no line coloring (this was my 2nd time trying this technique). Fortunately, after coloring my images, my kids recognized my efforts and said "is this no line coloring?" and could tell they were hippos and birds, hahaha! I'll count that as a win LOL 😂  I used Lawn Fawn Center Picture Window dies and ink blended and splattered the background with a cloudy stencil and Distress Oxide ink ( tumbled glass , broken china ). For the grass, I used Distress Oxide inks (...

Happy Easter in Bunnyville!

Hi crafty friends! Happy Easter! Peggy here with, of course, an Easter card!  I am so excited to show you my first project with Sunny Studio Stamps . Today I'm crafting with two stamp sets from the 2022 Spring Release, the adorable Bunnyville  and Little Birdie ! Let's get started! I started by cutting a panel from some white cardstock and ink blended with Lawn Fawn's Plaid Stencil with Spun Sugar ,  Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks. I wanted to make the sentiment from the Bunnyville stamp set the star of the show. Therefore, I stamped the sentiment from the Bunnyville stamp set in brown pigment ink in the middle of the panel. I used a layer of Versamark Embossing Ink over top and heat embossed with clear powder. Next, I covered the sentiment with a piece of paper and added gold metallic watercolor paint splatters to my panel. I used two stitched nested oval dies to create a white frame to put around my heat embossed sentiment. I adhered the fr...

Happy Bird Day Card by Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here. Since I started my card making hobby in 2015 I have always been a big fan of cute critters and I just love the adorable birdies in this sweet Sunny Studio set . For my main panel I used the Concord & 9th Stitched Heart Card Front die and the biggest Hero Arts Infinity circle die that would fit. I created additional ‘tunnel panels’ slightly smaller than the heart panel using the smaller circle dies and papers in different shades of green from my stash. I stamped all of my images with my Misti onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. Copic colors used Birds        RV13, RV14, E41, R20 Birdhouse    E41, E42, E43, E44, BG11, BG34 Branch     W1, W3, W5 For the background I inked up a Neenah panel with Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide ink and added some splatters with Picked Raspberry Oxide ink . Finally, I stamped a...

Penguin Road Trip Card by Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here with a sweet road trip card! Aren’t these penguins from the Sunny Studio Passionate Penguins the cutest ever? I love that this set gives you so many adorable images, so the possibilities are endless! Today we are creating a mini slimline card with a mountain scene in the background. To start I stamped the sweet car image onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock. I die cut the slimline first and then used a small dome die to cut into this panel. I stamped the mountain scene from Sunny Studio Country Scenes to this dome shape. Next, I drew a road for the car to drive on. All the coloring was done with Copic markers Copics used Car        BG11, BG13, BG34, Y11, T3, T5 Penguins    T5, T7, C9 Scene        T1, T3, V000, V12, BG13, BG11, E41, E42, E43, C1, C3, C5 To match the scene, I inked up the slimline panel with Spun Sugar distress oxides ink . The sentiment was pulled...

Hugs & Kisses Card by Tina

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with a cute slimline card featuring some adorable bunnies from the Sunny Studio Bunnyville set . This set is perfect for Easter cards but can be used for many other occasions, as I am showing today. The base panel is easy to make with the Slimline Meadows die from Whimsy Stamps . This die is amazing since it creates a whole background scene at once. The large tree die cut is also included in this set, and I decided to make mine extra ‘fluffy’ with lots of green layers. I used my Copic markers to give the tree and the grassy borders some dimension and structure. The colors I used are listed below. Next, I stamped the cute bunnies, butterfly, and carrots from the set onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and did some more Copic coloring. Copics used Tree         E15, E18, G14, YG05, YG17 Bunny      T1, T3, T5, T7, R20 Carrot       E08, YR68, YR16,...

Merry Christmas Card by Sara Zoppi

Hi BRI friends, Merry Christmas everyone! Sara here! Today it’s my turn on the BRI blog and I’m here to show my inspiration for the December BRI Mood Board. This is a perfect palette for Winter cards, I really love those cold colors mixed with silver. But since today it’s THAT day, the most important of the Holiday Season, I wanted to create a Christmas card. And this is my inspiration! I must admit I recently saw a bokeh patterned paper that was my inspiration for this card. So I couldn’t resist to create my own version, using the colors of the Mood Board. I used blending brushes and Distress Oxide Inks in Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Pine Needles and Shabby Shutters. I applied a layer of colors, with a really soft hand.    I then used some nesting dies to create circles with masking paper and I applied a few, added another layer of color (image 1) and then I added other circles (image 2: some of them overlap). I repeated the process until I was happy with ...

Happy Belated Birthday Card by Sara

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the June BRI Mood Board Challenge . When I first saw it, I didn’t know what to do but then…I saw an Hawaiian shirt on a tv programme and I had my inspiration! It had black, blue, coral and yellow leaves, and it was perfect for the BRIMOOD board! LOL So, this is my inspiration! I looked through my crafty stash and this Sunny Studio – Silly Sloths stamp came out: they were perfect for the scene I had in mind. I stamped many of the critters of the set, I only did a bit of masking on the upper left sloth that lies on the other sloth’s back. I also stamped some hibiscus. I then hand drew many different tropical leaves, to set my scene. I started to color the background, with a light yellow: I only wanted a yellow gradient tone on the bottom part. I then colored the sloths and the leaves. As I wanted to respect the BRIMOOD board, I mixed dark blue, teal and yellow. And I love because I also get some green shades, mixing the...

Hangin' with Silly Sloths

Hey there, crafty friends!   It's Amanda Fitterer and I hope your weekend is going well!  Sundays are the best  for "hanging" out, aren't they?!  ;)  These silly sloths are sure enjoying it! To create this bright and happy card, I'm going to start by creating my background.  I'm blending Rustic Wilderness and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides.  To create a more textured background, I'm going to fleck water and some Rustic Wilderness (mixed with water) with a paint brush. I'm creating my frames using the Mama Elephant 6 Window Cover Die . Next, I'm going to stamp my images from the Silly Sloths by Sunny Studio Stamps .  Once I've stamped my images, I'm ready to color them with my Copic markers.  Once colored, I can cut them out using the coordinating dies . The last thing I need is a sentiment!  I am going to stamp my sentiment with Versamark Watermark ink on a scrap piece of black cardstock and then apply white embossing powder.  ...

Go Cray Cray!

Hello friends! It's Ashley back again for another guest post for Butterfly Reflections Ink! Have you seen the new Heffy Doodle release yet? It's incredible! I just had to use some of it for my post today! I made a cute beachy birthday card that is sure to bring some smiles! I started by die cutting a piece of white cardstock into sections for the sky, water, and sand using Heffy Doodle Stitched Slopey Joes and the new Heffy Doodle Breaking Waves dies. I then ink blended each piece with Distress Oxide inks. For the sky, I used Tumbled Glass , the water is Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon , and the sand is Antique Linen . I added some dots with Copic markers to the sand for texture, then used a wonky rectangle die to add a border to the ink blended pieces. I attached the pieces to a wavy patterned paper background from Sunny Studio Summer Splash . I stamped several images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copic markers . I used: Heffy Doodle A ...

Snow Much Fun

H i Friends!! It is Dana here today and I am so happy to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog sharing a Christmas project with you all. I needed a few more gift card holders for my gift giving this year, so I pulled out some of my favorite stamps, dies and patterned paper to get started. I started by using the  Stocking Gift Card Holder Honey Cuts  to die cut my stocking. I used the  Sunny Studio Very Merry Paper Pack  along with  White Cardstock . Once everything was die cut I used  Liquid Adhesive  to assemble my stocking. I found the liquid glue to dry really quickly but still give me a little time to get everything lined up correctly. *Your gift card attaches to the inside piece of your stocking, the piece that slides in and out. Next, I used the  Avery Elle Snow Fun Clear Stamps  to stamp my snowmen for the front of my stockings. I colored my images with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them...

Warmest Wishes

Hello everyone! It's Ashley ! I'm so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog as a guest designer! I've missed it here! Today I have a super soft and sweet holiday card featuring new stamps from Sunny Studio! I just love using unexpected and nontraditional colors on holiday cards! I started by using the hills and trees stamp from Sunny Studio Scenic Route . I covered that up with some masking paper , then stamped the houses from the same set before covering those up with masking paper too. Now everything except the sky is protected and ready for ink blending! I used Distress Oxides in Milled Lavender , Victorian Velvet , and Spun Sugar for my sky. I added snow with Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops stamped in VersaMark and embossed with white . I just love how it turned out! I removed the masking paper and colored the background with Copics , before die cutting the panel with the largest Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle. I used a bit of Gina ...

Everything's Rosy

Happy Friday Friends!! It is  Dana  here today with a card using the Gorgeous  Sunny Studio: Everything's Rosy stamp set . I started my card by stamping my flowers with the  Altenew Cherry Blossom Mini Cube Set . Next, I used the  Altenew Green Meadows Mini Cube Set  for my leaves. I love the Altenew mini ink cubes for layered stamping...they blend perfectly! I also used my  Original MISTI Tool  to help line up all the different layers. Once everything was stamped, I used the  Sunny Studio: Everything's Rosy Dies  to die cut my flowers and leaves.  For my card panel, I die cut the  Reverse Confetti: Vertical Stripes Cover Panel  from white cardstock. I then mounted this onto my A2 card base. Next, I stamped my sentiment onto a cardstock strip and attached this to my card panel. Then, I used  3D Dots Foam Adhesive  to attach my flowers to my card front. To finish my card, I added some of the...
