Thanks a lot!

Hey crafty friends! It's Julia here and I want to share this hospital thank you card with you! Since my dad was really  grateful  for the amazing care of the hospital staff during his stay, he asked me to make them a thank you card - and I  -  of course - was happy to oblige! I used the super cute Village Heroes stamp set by Lawn Fawn for this one!  First I stamped my images from Village Heroes Happy Village , Open Me , Get Well Before 'n' Afters and Butterfly Kisses onto Transotype Perfect Coloring paper and colored them in using Copic Markers .   I die cut the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Backdrop Portrait as well as the Stitched Cloud Backdrop Portrait out of bristol smooth cardstock. After that I ink blended Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Ink onto the background and Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles onto the hills.   For the sentiment I die cut the Scripty Thanks die twice out of white cardstock and I ink blend...

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Hey crafty friends! It’s Julia here with with a cute birthday / celebration card! For this one I used the super adorable Hooray Kind of Day stamp set by My Favorite Things. I am such a huge fan of the illustrations my Stacy Yacula and I hope to use them a lot more often!! First I stamped my images onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored them in using Copic Markers . I die cut the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics out of bristol smooth cardstock. After that I ink blended Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide onto the background and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn onto the hill. I also added lots of splatters of Liquid Stardust for extra shine. I stamped the sentiment from the set directly into the little banner with Versafine Onxy Black ink. Then, I added the background to the scalloped piece and the hill on top of that with liquid glue . My cute images were added with foam squares . Finally, to add even more sparkle, I added lots of shimmer pen and Crystal Glaze ! If ...

Bark Less, Play More!

Hey there, crafty friends! It's Kelly Martin here, and I'm glad to be here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today with this card using the newest release from Heffy Doodle! I began by stamping several images from the Hot Diggity Dog stamp set  and coloring them with copic markers. I used the matching die set  to cut the images out and then set them aside. Using a die from the Skinny Imperial Rectangle Frame die set , I cut a frame from a dark blue piece of cardstock, and then inked up the negative piece that was also cut from that die. I used a few different shades of green Distress Oxide inks ( Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn ) and a few different shades of blue Distress Oxide inks ( Tumbled Glass and Broken China ) to create the sky and grass. After I glued both the frame and the scene piece onto a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base, I arranged all my images into a scene and then glued them down with liquid adhesive. To finish off the...

Oh Gnome!

Happy Friday Friends! It is  Dana  here today sharing a fun card and tag set using some products from  Lawn Fawn . For my card, I began by creating my background. I used the  Lawn Fawn: Mushroom Border Dies  for both my row of mushrooms and the grass. I love how both pieces are included with this die set! I mounted these onto a piece of paper from the  Lawn Fawn: Watercolor Wishes 6x6 Paper Pad . This is the perfect paper pad for backgrounds...it looks like you watercolored or ink blended the background, but without all of the work. For my images, I used the  Lawn Fawn: Oh Gnome! Stamp Set . I stamped my images with  Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam Ink  and colored them with  Copic Markers . Next, I used the  Lawn Fawn: Oh Gnome! Lawn Cuts  to die cut all of my images. I attached them to my card front with  Foam Adhesive . To finish my card, I attached my card panel onto my A2 card base. Next, I beg...

Made My Day | Hello BlueBird Stamps ( Continuing a card scene from the outside to the inside )

Well, hello friends!  Kari  with you today, and I am happy to be back for today on the BRI blog!  Today I wanted to share with all of you a fun card, and give an idea on how to continue your card scene from the outside to the inside.   For today's card, I am using some adorable images from a new stamp company, Hello BlueBird.  Vanessa's shop is currently the only place that you can purchase these stamps other than the Hello Bluebird website.  That is very exciting for her shop!  This set that I have used today is called  Pig Day   I have also used a few other images from the  Springtime  set as well.   I started out my card by first die cutting a piece of smooth white card stock with a wonky stitched square die from MFT.  I used two different stencils to start out my scene.  The  Drifts and Hills Stencil  and the  Mini Cloud Edges Stencil  both from MFT.  I used Distress...

Best Fishes To You

Hey all! I am so excited to share this card with you. As you've probably noticed I am usually a pretty CAS kind of guy. But today I've managed to create a scene card! I know- shocking! It is still pretty simple but there's, like, layers and stuff. How cool?! Check it out- I used the newly released Eskimo Kisses from Heffy Doodle. This is a newer company and my very first stamp set from them. I am very impressed. I created a little underwater scene with a trio of blue Distress Inks and some light stamping of some fishes. Then I layered on a piece of vellum that looks like snow and ice. I think it looks soooo cool! Then I added the little Eskimo man and his fishing rod and used twine as a fishing line. I also stamped a ice hole and fishing hook in black. A punny sentiment completed this (simple) scene.

Winter Village Scene card

Good morning crafty friends!  It's one more week closer to the holidays, and I have another card for you today. Today's card was pretty quick.  I started by inking an A2 sized card panel with Distress Oxide Inks .  I used Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Lucky Clover .  I blended the inks, and then sprayed on some water, blotted it dry, then added a bit more water.  To get the snow flakes, I flicked on some white paint. Then I stamped all the houses and tree images from Lawn Fawn's Winter Village set .  I colored everything with Copics and then cut them out.  I stamped the greeting on the background using Versamark Ink, and then heat embossed using Altenew Crisp White embossing powder. To make the hills and frame, I cut some heavy white card stock using the Lawn Cuts Stitched Hillside Backdrop - Landscape . Let's talk about how versatile this die is.  If you like making scene cards at all, you can use this over and over. ...

Welcome, Little One!

Happy Saturday, Friends! It's my turn today to share a card with you, and I'm really excited about this one! My Favorite Things came out with this super cute Bundle of Baby Clothes die set a few months ago, and I immediately fell in love with it. It was one of the first die sets I ordered from Butterfly Reflections, Ink, and I've honestly been debating how to use it since April! I started by creating my fence background. I took the Lawn Fawn Stripey Backdrop die and cut two different panels. I flipped one of the panels over to make a criss-cross pattern on top of the first panel. I adhered my fence background on to my card base and then moved on to the clouds! I used a stitched cloud die  and white cardstock to make the clouds, and I treated the edges with some Broken China distress ink to give the hint of a blue sky. I glued the clouds on top of my background and then went on to the cutest part--the baby clothes! I took some various plaid papers from My F...

Let's Chill!!!

Hello and Welcome Summer!!! This fun card I created was totally inspired by Summer, Sun and Fun! I used a very sophisticated tool to create it.... called "my fingers" hahaha.... I finger paint almost all of it with Oxide Inks. I am very happy with the result. CARD DETAILS: I started by die cutting all the pieces of the oh so Fabulous MFT Beach Scene Builder, and here is when things became fancy... I used Distress Oxide inks and my fingers to create the cool look.  I smear a little of oxide ink to my craft mat, added a little water and started painting the piece with my fingers   I used Oxide Inks in colors  Spiced Marmalade  and Fossilized Amber  for the sunset, after I added the color I sprayed the piece with a little bit of  water.   For the ocean I used oxide ink in color Faded Jeans  and for the palm tree  Cracked Pistachio  with the same process.  For the sand I used  Walnut Stain  oxide ink.  ...

Knight in Shining Armor

Hello, crafty friends! Today I'm sharing my first post as a Butterfly Reflections, Ink Design Team member, and I'm SUPER thrilled for the opportunity! Confession time: I was very worried that once I had been selected to be a design team member for this blog I would actually run out of card making ideas and be at a total loss for creating something. Guess what? THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED! <insert shocked gasps from the crowd>. Thankfully, I was able to get past this block, and soon I will put up a post on my own blog about what to do when the creative juices are running dry. But back to this card! One of my biggest struggles as a card maker is creating a scene. You really need to have some skills of big-picture thinking. I'm more of a detail-oriented person, hence why creating scenes is hard for me. But I figured I'd tackle one of my biggest struggles head-on for this first project! I first stamped various images from the My Favorite Things Mag...

Cute Party!

Hello everyone  Waleska  here with my first blog post as a Design Team member of Butterfly Reflections Ink! For my first card I decided to make a scene card (my favorite cards to make) with a lot of Lawn Fawn stamps, because they coordinate so well you can create almost any cute scene you can imagine. To color the branches and the  Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders I used  Distress Inks  in colors Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain, for the background I used  Merman Lawn Fawn Ink . As I mentioned before I used a bunch of Lawn Fawn Stamp sets you would not believe me:  Jump for Joy ,  Joy to the Woods ,  Cheery Christmas ,  Happy Howloween  and  Party Animal . "REMEMBER" Vanessa is having a GREAT  Stamp and Die SALE  you don't want to miss!!! most of this sets are on sale!!! Hurry Up!!! I used markers to color all the critters and to fi...
