December 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. At first glance this palette may not scream holiday time, but you know I love non-traditional color schemes! I'm also all about metallics in my Christmas decor so I knew I wanted to throw some glittery silver in here. Silver and blue has been a popular decorating choice for Christmas for as long as I can remember so I decided to go with two shades of blue, one icy cool and one classic and rich. The addition of a mid-tone green really just freshens everything up. Can you smell the Christmas trees yet? 😉 I know you all love you scene cards, I think this palette will be great for little winter scenes!    Ice Blue, Classic Blue, Greenery, Sparkling Silver Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! Be sure to share on Instagram with #brimoodboard for a chance to win a $20 shop credit. And follow our @brimoodboardchallenge account to keep up with the monthly boards, entries and winners! And...

(A Lotl) cheer for the New Year

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with a late post. I’ve been so busy and unable to concentrate lately. I knew I had a post coming up and when I looked, I saw I missed it by a day. I am the worst... but I will try to make it up to you with a super cute Center Picture Window Card.  I sat down this afternoon in hopes of making up for my faux pas. I wanted to use the new Lawn Fawn mini stamp set  I Like You (A Lotl) , and I wanted to somehow make a New Years Card using the December BRI Moodboard  after playing around with some ideas I got to work.     I selected a dusky sky blue for my base layer, and used the Lawn Fawn  Center Picture Window  dies to cut the base and window pop out portion. I cut the window part using the smallest Stitched Den Cuts  since Axolotl live in very few fresh water bodies And caves in Mexico.  Next, I cut some Kraft cardstock using the  Slimline Stitched Hillside  to create a sandy bottom, and a background h...

Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve, all!  I hope you're having a wonderful day!  I'm excited to share a slimline Christmas card with you today!  It features many Heffy Doodle products, including the Santa's Village Stamp Set ! To make this card, I started with the Heffy Doodle Stitched Slimline Trio Dies . I stamped my images and sentiments from the  Santa's Village Stamp Set  and the Whatcha Sayin' and Whatcha Saying Now Stamp Sets . After I got everything all stamped out, I colored the images with Copic markers. I cut out the images with the coordinating dies and then I adhered everything to the card base using 3D foam squares and strips. Voila!  Done!  Super simple and super festive! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Xoxo, Amanda

Happy Holidays Deer!

Hi everyone! Jenny here with a fun holiday card using non-traditional colours featuring a cool stamp from the Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa collection. BRI carries all of this collection which also includes some co-ordinating papers, stickers, and other embellishments to play with.  I have a video showing the full detail on how I created this card over on my channel on YouTube : To create the card I applied my powder tool onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and stamped the three snowflakes from the set all over in Versamark ink . I heat embossed in white embossing powder .  I then die cut a heart from masking paper using a Hero Arts Infinity Heart die and adhered it to the embossed panel. I then ink blended using my mini blending tool three colours of Hero Arts Dye ink (Bubblegum, Ultra Pink and Soft Pink) over the top and removed the mask.  I trimmed down the panel slightly and adhered it to a 110lb white card base.   I then stamped out the reinde...

Have a Merry Christmas Deer!

Hi everyone, Jenny here.  I hope you're all having a wonderful Thanksgiving for those of you that celebrate it.   I'm certainly looking forward to stuffing my face with Turkey later!! This week I have not one but two cards, using the most wonderful christmas/wintery/fall type background stamp I think that ever existed (note: opinions are my own and in no way reflect the views or opinions of Butterfly Reflections Ink ☺☺☺☺).  It's the Hero Arts Forest and Deer Background stamp.  This was released I think early this year, but honestly it's so versatile and impactful, you just gotta get it! To create the cards I used Distress Oxide Ink in Iced Spruce.   I used Oxide for two reasons - one, I'm stamping on dark green cardstock and the Oxides act more like pigment ink (they're opaque) and show up really well on dark cardstock.   And 2) they stay sticky long enough to heat emboss without adding any additional embossing ink. I inked up th...

Let It Snow!

Hi Everyone It's Jenny here with another festive card, courtesy of a fabulous stamp set by Flora & Fauna called Arctic Starry Night . I love this set, it's full of such cute critters, and stars (love stars) in a whimsical hand drawn style.  Butterfly Reflections Ink carries a bunch of Flora & Fauna goodies in the shop I highly recommend checking out! To create my card, I stamped all of the bears and the sign from the set in copic friendly black ink - try Memento Tuxedo Black.   I then did some very simple coloring with my Copics in Cool and Warm grey, pink for the cheeks and light blue-green for the scarf.  I cut out the bears with my Scan n Cut. For my background, I used a gorgeous 6x6 patterned paper from the Summer Lights set by Pink Paislee.  Who says summer paper can't be used for holiday cards :)  I trimmed it down to the size of an A2 size card front and then adhered it to some studier white card stock.  I then used the Knight Sk...

Trio My Mind's Eye Holiday Cards

Hello, everyone! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts ! I am excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog , today! First of all, let's talk about the current sale going on right now over in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink store... You can check out the deals, HERE! Now on to my project... I don't know about you, but I love to send out Holiday cards to family and friends. However, with our hectic schedules, it makes it hard to find time to create all those cards.  So I am in love with using collections that include a variety of embellishments that match the paper. Today, I made these 3 cards in a matter of minutes. These cards are made using the My Mind's Eye Christmas on Market Street collection. I used the 6x6 paper pad, flair buttons, and die cuts embellishments.   I love how the flair provides a pop of color on this festive white and gold card. The large snowflake and sentiment banner are part of the die cuts packet. ...

holiday fishes

Hey guys,  Jung  here with a holiday card using non holiday stamps.  I like to get as much use out of my stamps as possible, so I'm glad that I found a way to make a holiday card using these stamp sets. For my card, I used two stamps sets, both by Lawn Fawn:  fintastic friends  &  flirty frames . I did some  copic coloring , and added a little detail with a white gel pen and  clear wink of stella glitter pen .  I embossed the sentiment with  Versamark  ink and  liquid platinum embossing powder .  I popped the colored panel on a card base with some foam tape, and more foam tape for the black sentiment panel as well.  I finished my card off with some red sequins. That's it for me!  Don't forget to get your retail therapy on at the BRI shop ! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
