Moose You Big Time

Hi peeps! How's it going? Vera here today. It's been a while since I posted for Butterfly Reflections and am so happy to be back here today. For your Sunday inspiration, how about some SugarPea Designs cuteness? I just  love this cute, chubby moose from SugarPea Designs  Easily A'Moosed  set. In my opinion, they're the cutest moose on  the block. Hah! And, since I used to have a hedgehog, double point for this set. ;) A moose & a hedgehog roasting marshmallow together....., ah, what a cozy  night, right? And sometime when you're  feeling all cozy, that's also when you miss someone big time. This happened to me recently, that's why for this image I chose this sentiment (also from the same set). I simply stamp, color and die cut all the images and adhere them with pop-dots. The patterned paper is from Happy Camper paper collection.  Hope you like it and also I want to do a quick shout out to Butterfly Reflections Ink f...

Colorful Blooms

Hi everyone and welcome to the last day of 2016. Vera here today. Time to say good bye to 2016. What you've got plan to celebrate this new year's eve? Mine, most likely would be spent quietly at home. Hubby and I prefer to stay at home and avoid driving on new year's eve. Better to end 2016 and start 2017 safely. We probably rent movies and make it a movie night. I thought for today, it's only appropriate to close the year with my favorite kind of card. Flowery birthday card. I probably should have done new year's card, but I like to make card that I will actually send and I never really send out new year's card, except maybe for Chinese New year, since growing up, this is the new year that our family celebrate. I just love  this beautiful  Concord & 9th Hello Lovely  set. For my card, I stamped the flowers a few times to fill out the card panel. Followed with heat embossing them with WOW metallic silver embossing powder  and then colore...

Warm Wishes Hedgehog

Hi peeps. Vera here today. The day before Christmas, where everything last minute is being done. Hah... For me, that means house cleaning as we're getting ready for company tomorrow. Sounds fun, right? ;) Anyhoo..., I  managed to squeeze in time to make this fun slider mini card. I am short on Christmas cards this year (and behind), so even now, I am still working on Christmas cards. I think that's the only downfall of being known as card maker, your family and friend expect handmade card from you. No store bought  cards. Here's what my card looks like at first glance. Then, you pull the tag out and slowly it reveals a more colorful look. Taadaaaa, here's how the card and the tag looks once the tag full pulled out. Like magic it showed a colored version. Let's start with the card base. To add subtle pattern to the card base, I stamped the card base with  MFT Sweater Stitch Background stamp . Oce that done, I created the frame u...

Hugs On Your Birthday

Hi peeps. How's your Saturday going? Hope it starts off wonderfully. Vera here. For today, I am taking a little break from Christmas cards and go for birthday card. When I saw Concord & 9th Heartstrings die , I knew right away that I have to have it. Seriously, they always come out with such cool and neat design. I love their stuff. At first, I was going to do shaker card. But, while working on it, I thought, oh I shouldn't waste the inside part of the heart and decided to color them for later use. And, you know how it goes.... It's like a puppy when they see squirrel! Oh look.... squirrel... zoom, change direction. That's me. Hah! So, instead of shaker card, I ended up using the colored inside part of the heart and end up with colorful, cutesy card. Can't resist pretty colors. And, here's what I end up with: After I finished adhering the heart pieces, I was like, hm... I need something cute & fun. Well, tadaaa... this cutie patoot...

Hi peeps! Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving with your love ones. And, hope you score some good deals on Friday?? I spent my Friday working. Based on previous years result, we definitely never expecting the amount that we got this year. Needless to say we all working like crazy to get thousands of cards sort & pack for the nursing home. We are so overloaded that we haven't finish counting all the cards, but we have at least 42,000 cards. Now that I get that little update out, let's get on with my card for today. I love sloth. So far, we have about 3500 cards in and I hope you will help us in getting more. :) For my card today, I reached for this cute MFT Santa Elves set with its matching dies .  I love coloring this cute elf. He's just so adorable! To make the shaker card, I used MFT Die-namics Peek A Boo Circle Windows  and did partial cutting and apply the same partial cutting with the elf dies as well. Here's a close up look oft he shaker part. Finished by adding shimmer to the ornament and the hat's bell with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen  and some pretty sequins. Well peeps, that's all from me today. May your weekend be filled with things that brighten and lift up your spirit.

Are You Yeti For Christmas?

Hi peeps. Vera here. I am so excited to finally have on my hand, this cute MFT Beast Friends stamp set. I've been eyeing it for awhile and tried to resist it, but at the end... it find its way to my home. ;) And, here's my first card using this set. For the background, I covered a cardstock panel with Ranger Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass , Broken China , Faded Jeans and Cracked Pistachio . Then I spray it with some water, let it dry, and die cut it with MFT Die-namics Snowfall Vertical . Once that done, I stamp & fussy cut the yeti and adhere to the card with pop-dots. Finished with the sentiment. Oh, and I added some enamel dots on some of the snow using Nuvo Crystal Drop Gloss White . I kind of obsessed with Nuvo crystal drop at the moment. I always love using enamel dots on my projects and the Nuvo crystal drop allows me to create my own enamel dots at various size which I love!! That's all from me today. Sending Hugs Li'l Monkey

Hi there lovely peeps. How's it going? Vera here today for your weekend inspiration.  One of my favorite kind of card to make are interactive card, especially the kind that  make people say how does it work? Like this magic slider card. ;) I think this would be such a fun card to give to kids and adults alike. For this card, I used a set that's close to my heart, because this set from SugarPea Designs called Caring Critters  is part of sets designed specifically for my Caring Hearts Card Drive  (that is going on full swing right now and you have 1 more month to send in your cards). We started with just designing sentiment set, then we got way excited and ended up with extra set. Because after all, what could be better than cute critter caring happy mail, right? And, with the sale of this set, portion of the profit is donated to Alzheimer Association. It kind of hard to see, but the background actually stamped with MFT Etched Flower Background St...

Sending Hugs Slider Card

Hi there lovely peeps. Vera here. So, lately I am kind of into interactive card. After all, I just finished the Wild Card class from Online Classes that is all about interactive card. One of my favorite is the slider card. Now, here's a look at my card at first glance.  For this card, I used  and Altenew Beautiful Day  set. It's such a beautiful set and I thought it's perfect for slider card. For starter, I stamped the image on 2 panels using  Misti tool . The 1st panel, I adhere to the card base and the 2nd one I die cut for the frame and the insert  using  MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames As you slide out the insert, it will slowly reveal the colored scene behind it. And, tadaaa... prettiness revealed. Actually, I kind of loving how it looks without the slider. But, hey, the slider make it fun, don't you think? Well peeps, that's all from me today. Short and to the point. What can I say, we finally hav...

So Very Thankful

Hi peeps! How's it going? Vera here today. For today's card I am going with my favorite style of all time clean & simple & colorful. I am usually not into leaf stamp, but when I saw this beautiful leaf from Concord and 9th Lace Leaf Stamp set , it's love at first sight. I know right away I want to play with it. Here's my card using the set along with the matching Graceful Leaf Dies . I just love the beautiful details on this leaf. It's so pretty and at the same time has a modern feeling to it. And, the soft dots shadow complement it so perfectly. I simply applied various color inks on the leaf and add a bow string for added texture. Now, for the sentiment, I stamped the bottom part of the word "thankful" with green color ink pad and the rest with blue. Since I just love the way this card turn out, I thought I try it out with a warm color palette.  For sure, I will play quite a bit with this set. You can find m...

Wishing You Tons of Fun

Hi peeps. How's it going? It's me, Vera, here today. As you may or may not know, I am a fan of cute stuff and today's card is no exception. I am playing with one of my favorite MFT set, the Adorable Elephant set. I start by die-cutting the triangles and coloring them with various inks, then adhere them quite randomly. I am quite into this color combo lately. There were a couple cards on my blog post recently using this color combo thought in slightly softer tone. That's what I love about playing with cover up dies, you could really play with the positive parts. Now, from graphic element we transition to the cute element of the card. I love elephant. They're such majestic creature. While writing this post, I just realized that I have stuff animal version of all animals I love, but I don't have elephant, yet. Need to tell hubby to fix this shortage in my stuff animal collection. Hah!! Back to the card, to anchor the elephant, I stand him on some g...

Hugs & Happy Thoughts

Hi everyone. Vera here today to entertain you for a wee bit. I am a huge fan of Altenew stamps ever since they started. They have some of the prettiest flower sets out there. So, for today, I want to share this mini card that I made using Altenew Beautiful Day  with it's matching die  set. Sometime, when I am not sure what to make, I like to just play and create mini card. I think the smaller space kind of inspiring and make it easier to work with. My style is clean and simple, so I stick with it. But, just because it's clean and simple doesn't mean it's boring. I love adding little detail like popping up the main image, like the big flower on this card. Then finish by adding some sequins. I really, really love sequins. I consider them like sprinkle of happiness on a card. Hah! Well I hope you enjoy today's card. I schedule this post in advance, because as this post go up, I would be adventuring in Portland, Oregon. My first time to Oregon and h...

Hello Sunshine

Hi everyone. Vera here today with my 1st post for Butterfly Reflection Ink. I am so excited to be joining this fabulous team. Let's get on with it, shall we. As an animal lover, I am a big fan of cute critters. So, for my 1st post, I decided to use cute critter from one of my all time favorite company, My Favorite Things. I made my card based on their latest sketch challenge . To start, I used  MFT Geometric Stencil  to create the background. Using sponge daubers, I add various ink colors to the card panel. For the main image I colored this cutie from Hog Heaven stamp set (cut using the matching  Die-namics Hog Heaven dies ). Isn't this hog just the cutest? Sorry, I tend to gush over cute stuff. ;) Then, I die-cut the banner using one of the banner from Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprint 5  and stamped the sentiment from Polynesian Paradise set. To finish, Iadd shimmer to the cupcake and randomly on the triangles using Wink of Stella Clear . Kind of h...
