A Dash of Paint, Watercolor and Stitching!

Hello there! Samantha here, and I'm so excited to share this layout with you today! :) I used LOTS of supplies from the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop : A little back story about the picture: my two little Menn (ages 5 and 2 in this photo) are SOOOO my husband's mini-me's it's funny! And one of their favorite summer activities is 'helping' Daddy mow the lawn! They LOVE it! My oldest pushes the fertilizer thing-y and my youngest uses his toy lawn mower...and all the while, all three of them are sweating up a STORM! (Summers in SC are...horrendous!) You would think they would want to give up and come in and cool down, but nope! They love following Daddy around like his ducklings! :) Ok, onto the craftyness! I started with a white piece of cardstock and used some Paint to add green brush strokes. Then, I cut a piece of Amy Tangerine 12x12 paper diaganolly and adhered it over it. Then I added some green watercolor to the Amy Tangerine cardstock. I

Mood Board Inspiration

Have you seen the gorgeous  January Mood Board  that Amanda posted? Gorgeous shades of pink, glittery gold, bold, geometric patterns... SO pretty! I decided to play along and used In Every Way by Waffle Flower . I heat embossed the 'Perfect' in gold on black cardstock, fussy cut it out, and popped it up with Kool Tak Clear Foam adhesive. The other parts of the sentiment were stamped in Black Licorice Hybrid ink directly on a piece of patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Serendipity 6x6 pack . The flowers were stamped in Bubble Gum ink on patterned paper, fussy cut, and popped up. The final touch was embossing a gold strip along the left side of the card.  You can play along with the January Mood Board too. Just link up your creations here . We can't wait to see what you come up with! There are SO many fab products in the shop that will help you play along!

Sky's the Limit!

Hi everyone, Today I thought I would do something different from the Valentine's cards.   I started out with an older Lawn Fawn set,  Blue Skies .  I don't have the coordinating die cut yet...but I will soon.  I coloured in the hot air balloon with distress inks and I also used distress inks for the sky and hills.  I cut out the hill with the  Lawn Fawn Stitched hillside boarder dies  and used the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle dies to cut out the frame and a stitched cloud die to cut out the clouds.   I stamped the sentiment with  MFT's hybrid black licorice ink  as well as the balloon.  I added a few  sequins  and took my  memento marker  and used the fine tip to draw in the little birds. Don't forget to head over to the BRI blog for the  January mood board  on the Saturday's' post and we would be tickled "pink" to see what you create! Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon! Coralynn :)

Colorful Card

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a really fun, bright card using the exclusive stamps from Shanna Noel and also the Paper Smooches Spectrum stamps and dies.  For my patterned papers i used the Project Life Playful edition 6x6 paper pad .  For the rainbow i used American Crafts zing embossing powder including the cricket color you can find in the store.  The unicorn is paper pieced. I love the subtle pink chevron pattern from the 6x6 mentioned above. I also used some foam adhesive to add a little dimension to the card. That is it for today. I hope you have enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping by!

A wild Hello

Hi all!  Angel here with a fun Hello card!  Wow, I just realized this card has NO stamping!  That cool zebra background was done by sponging with a stencil.  The phone and 'Hello' are from the Smart Phone Dies by MFT.  I cut out the phone once from white card stock, then again using silver foil card stock - just wanted a bit of extra dimension.  I used a couple of stars from the Tinsel & Co sequin pack    with a bling added to the centers for extra interest.  :) Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Angel

Guest Designer Sunday with Christy Reuling

Happy Sunday! For my card today, I started out by using a Lawn Fawn Navy Woodgrain Notecard, then die cut a focal panel from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Serendipity 6x6 pad. I trimmed two more patterns into strips, cut banner ends, and layered them on my card base for extra pops of color.  On the focal panel, I sponged pink ink through the Memory Box Heart Confetti Stencil to give it more visual interest. Then I stamped out the birds from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine, and stamped them an additional time on white card stock. I colored them with alcohol markers, fussy cut them out, and adhered them over the stamped images. I happened to notice that the font of the Hello Sunshine sentiment was the same as one of the sentiments in the new Lawn Fawn Bugs and Kisses stamp set, so I decided to do a custom sentiment with some selective inking in Memento Tuxedo Black. And finally, I popped my focal panel up with foam tape to add dimension. I hope you enjoy my card!

January Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here with you today to share January's mood board. Valentine's day is just around the corner so I had pink on the brain! Pair varying shades of pink with gold and black and you have an elegant, bold and fun color combination! Does this palette inspire you? I'd love to see what you create! Be sure to share a link to your project in the comments!

Coffee Love

I love my cup of coffee in the morning! I'm not an intense coffee drinker... I only have 2 cups in the morning and can easily switch out to tea or nothing at all in emergency situations. :) My kids know however, that in our house mom wakes up a grizzly bear and is magically transformed into sweet, lovely mom once I have that first magical sip of coffee. In other words, NO TALKY BEFORE COFFEE . That #SELFIE mug though...I need it.  For my card today I started with a white cardstock panel and stamped the solid dots background from Avery Elle's Texture Tiles in Hero Arts Passion Flower , Cornflower and Mint Julep inks. Over top of each colour swatch I stamped the mug from We Go Together  in Blackboard , then fussy cut them. I stamped the sentiment, pink heart, and the 'steam' over top and popped up the mugs using foam tape.  I wish my coffee mugs were that cute! Thanks for stopping in today, and don't forget to check out the latest and great

Love you tons!

Hello everyone,  I'm back today with a more subtle Valentine's day card.  I used the " Love you Ton's " mini stamp set from Lawn Fawn, which is simply adorable.  I stamped out the little elephants onto the text paper that comes in the Yours Truly 6x6  paper pad  with  Memento onyx black .  After I  die cut  them out,  I coloured the outline with a grey copic marker to hightlight the images. For the background I stamped the Lawn Fawn Starry backdrops versa mark ink and heat set it with white  embossing powder .  I used watercolour shimmer paints that I have had for a long time in my stash but any  inks , watercolour paints, distress inks or ink daubers mixed with  perfect pearls  will work for this technique and I did that on watercolour paper. I used the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles to cut out the other papers and I popped up the little heart papers with foam tape and glued the others flat to an A2 size card base in white card stock.  I heat

It Moose Be Love

Today I am just sharing a quick card with you.  It could be used as a Valentine's Day card or even an everyday love you themed card.  I used the PL Desktop paper pad from Becky Higgins, The Lawn Fawn Critters of the Arctic stamp and die set, some Maya Road cloud veneers and also some MME metal hearts .  The washi is from Amy Tangerine.  I hope you enjoy this quick, fun card. Thanks for stopping by.

Just waving Hi!

Hi all!   Angel here with a card using a super cool set by Neat and Tangled called Sailmates .  The sentiments in this set are so fun!  The rectangle frame and the paper-pieced boat were cut out from some dp in the As You Wish paper pack .  The rectangle frame is up on foam adhesive.  I embossed the waves with white embossing powder , then cut the edge of one so I could place my paper-pieced boat "in" the waves.  The sentiment was stamped on a bit of dp from the True Friend paper pack then cut out with a circle die. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Angel

You're AMAZING

I have done a complete turn around in my cardmaking for this post and gone back to what I'm comfortable with...LOTS OF STAMPING! :)  My last post featured no stamping at all and this time it's the opposite. It's fun how we can switch things up like that! Waffle Flower had an amazing release just a few weeks ago and my favourite set from it is In Every Way . The scripty font? Swoon. The label style sentiments? Yeah! The ability to mix and match elements? Thud.  I love it all. I've used some of the teeny tiny elements from another Waffle Flower set to create my background. Riverside , Starry Night and in fact almost every other Waffle Flower set has those tiny stamps perfect for customizing a background. Go ahead and try it! For an accent I dipped some  Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars  in ink to match the sentiment. It's a great way to make sure your accents match the rest of the card.  Don't forget to check out some of the amazing Waffle F

I Like Big Cups!

Happy Sunday! Danielle here from GirlRacerScrap bringing you a cute yet funny card today.  I am a child of the early 90's and if you noticed the title of the post you may have started singing a song in your head.  Yup, Sir Mix A Lot's - Baby Got Back!  While his song is about our backsides this card is about LARGE coffee cups!!!  You can never have enough coffee or tea if that is your choice.   I used the T aylored Expressions - Hug in a Mug Stamp Set  this is a red rubber cling stamp set and paired it with an older paper pad from Kaiser Craft, but any patterned papers will work.  Check out whats available in the shop here .  Materials I used that can be found in the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop! It's Your Time to Soar

Hello, Butterfly Reflections friends! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts and I am glad to be back to share with you a fun and fresh card. Reflection   Who else is ready to put winter behind them? I am ready to start crafting with fun and fresh prints!   Today's card, I am using a few supplies I bought from the Butterfly Reflections store lately!     I knew I wanted to use this fun sentiment from Avery Elle's  Look Up stamp set.  My first thought was to use cloud print paper and maybe add a kite. As I was searching for the right paper, I came across the paper airplane print from AC Day Dreamer 6x6 paper pad.  The rest of the prints came from the same paper pad. (Who doesn't love paper pads? They make it so easy to coordinate papers!!!)   Once I attached the papers, I added a small white wooden clothespin to the card. However, it needed something else. I started messing with adding string to the project, but simply could not decide how to make it wor

Oh Happy Day!

Hi there!  I'm back again with a Spring card to share with you.  If you can't tell I'm a HUGE  Lawn Fawn  fan!  I just can't get enough because they have the most adorable images to work with and you can do so much.   Vanessa has all the new  Lawn Fawn stamps and dies  on pre-order and you can get  10%  your order by using the code LFPREORDER10!  But hurry this offer ends Sunday, January 18th!!!!!   Now on to my card.  I did some selective die cutting with the Snow Day coordinating die cuts and used one of the bunnies along with the  Spring Showers Lawn Cuts  for the clouds. I then cut along the sides with a craft knife to cut away the inside.  I then embossed the edge with the LF Stitched rectangles and used a black pen to highlight the stitch lines.   I mixed and matched up a few sets with this card and the first one being  Snow Da y.  I used the sweet little bunny and I coloured him in with copics then used my  Uni-ball Signo  white gel pen to add in so

Dreams Layout

Today i am sharing a new 8.5x11 layout with with my daughter as the subject.  I caught this one of her running and though it would make for a neat layout using the Dream Believer stamp set from Wplus9. I do love card making but first and foremost I am a layout gal.  I love incorporating stamps you might not usually pic up for scrapbooking.   First off I used some white embossing powder on a white background. I have used this effect previously on the blog here and I just love it and go back to it often.  I also used the dauber technique again as well.  I wanted to add some navy blue so i used some Mister Huey's spray.  I then added some wood veneer stars. Next i added some feathers as well because you have to have feathers with  these pretty dream catchers!  I used glue dots to adhere them then tied some twine to the feathers.  To attach at the top i just poked a hole through with my paper piercer and tied a knot on the back of the page. I did a little more sta

Masculine Valentine

Hi all!  Angel here with a masculine valentine card for you!  Now, I realize Coralynn just showed you a card using this set two days ago and to that I say, Great Minds Think Alike!  Ha!  I mean, how adorable is this whale from the Lawn Fawn What you be mine stamp set ?!  Love him and that fun sentiment!  I inked up my craft mat steel grey and blueberry inks, spritzed with water, then smushed my watercolor paper on top of the ink blob.  I zapped it with my heat gun {because I'm impatient}, then stamped the whale and used the matching dies to die cut it.  I inked up the words to the sentiment individually so I could stack them up.  That fun little strip of dp is from the 6x6 As You Wish paper pad  (yes, I adore that paper pad!).  I added a pink heart (from the set) above his head, a vellum fishtail flag layer (which I only adhered at the top so the bottom could curl up a bit) and some x's to the bottom of the card base.  I figured that was about as girly as I could get if I&

No stamping?! WHAT?!

If you're a stamping addict avert your eyes! There's...wait for it...NO STAMPING on this card. I can hardly believe it myself seeing as I'm a self-professed stamp-lover.  I challenged myself to make a card by not using any stamps or ink and instead focus on some of the pretty elements that are included in a 6x6 paper pad.  I used the Open Book 6x6 paper collection by Crate Paper for this creation and jazzed it up by colouring the sentiment with a Spica clear glitter marker and by adding a few  heart-shaped wood veneers  (adhered with Multi Media Matte ).  The panel that showcases the sentiment comes from this piece- shown is the 12x12 version but the 6x6 includes many of these elements too.  Going stamp and ink-free *might* be difficult considering all the AMAZING new stuff that keeps coming into the shop (enabler alert!) but give it a try! You might end up using some of those papers that you look at and think "what the heck will I do with that!

"Whale you be Mine"

Hello everyone! I'm back with another Love card for Butterfly Reflections Ink. I am using the sweet "Whale you be mine" mini stamp and die sets from Lawn Fawn.  This is such a versatile set that it can be used with all the other wonderful stamps from Lawn Fawn and it's fun to mix and match them. I used an A2 sized card base of white card stock and cut out a panel that's 4x5.25.  I found some doilies in my stash from years ago so I used one of those behind the whales and heart.  For the heart I used the larger one from the LF Bug & Kisses set and cut it out with the coordinating dies . I took a paint brush filled with watered down ink and flicked onto the card to create the background.  Any dye, pigment or water based ink will work for this technique. Just smoosh (technical term!) on a block or non porous surface and add a bit of water then fill up your paint brush and, flick! I coloured in the whales with my copics and finis

Guest Designer Sunday with Christy Reuling

Hi, I'm Christy, and I'm a writer, a reader, a world-traveler, a dreamer, and friend. I've made my home in such exotic locals as Honduras, Germany, and Cameroon, West Africa, before returning to my hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania to settle down and raise my beautiful family. I've always been a crafty girl, but I didn't discover paper crafting until January of 2010. At the same time, I started my blog, Christy Gets Crafty, to document my journey. I few years later I began filming videos on YouTube as a way to give back to this amazing community. I've put my heart into card making, specifically, because it's all about putting love on paper and giving it away. I also work part-time at a local pottery studio. For my card, I just had to give my new WPlus9 Winter Pals stamp set some inky love! Aren't these images adorable? After coloring them, I die-cut them using the matching dies . Gotta love that! So quick and easy. I layered some Ame

"Thanks"

Hi everyone! Hope your weekend has started off to an awesome start! Today I'm sharing a cute 4x4 card: I started off by cutting a heart out of some white card stock, I don't own any heart dies but there are some great one like this one from Little B Hearts Cutting Die or Die-namics Heart Stax  in the  store . I then took the Lawn Fawn Snow Day Die to cut several hearts using the smallest heart die and Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks die to cut my sentiment. I made this a thank you card for a friend of mine but you could totally change the sentiment. You could use the Lawn Fawn Scripty Love or Scripty Hello dies. I finished my card by adding some foam adhesive and a few sequins from TCP . Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! Supplies used: Lawn Fawn Snow Day Die TCP sequins

Foxy Lady

Everyone seems to love the cute little foxes lately so today I am sharing a layout using these adorable little puffy guys i found at Walmart that go great with some fun products in the shop.  I use the Fancy Pants True Friend products.  The papers in the 6x6 pad are really fun and versatile for all your paper crafting projects. I also used the matching ephemera pack which has some really cute designs. All these products came together for a cute 8.5x11 page of my daughter and her little fox purse.  Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed the layout.

Sparkle and Shine

Hi all!  Angel here again with a quick but elegant card for you!  How cool is this sentiment??  Would you be surprised if I told you it was a sticker?!!  Yep!  This came from the Bella Rouge Puffy Word Sticker pack by Pink Paislee.  It's SO pretty and sparkly!  The words are connected, so it's super easy to work with.  I used some die-namics to cut out a frame from some dp in the As You Wish paper pack , popped it up on foam adhesive, then placed two different colors of sequins from the Tinsel & Co Sequin pack { love! } randomly to add a bit of oomph!  See, now how easy was that?!  ;) Thanks for stopping by!

Elegant Hello

Hello everyone! I'm super excited to be here for my first DT post as part of the Butterfly Reflections, Ink team!  I made an elegant 'hello' card as a way to say hi to you all and that I'm looking forward to sharing my creations with you during the next few months.  It's easy to turn a simple sentiment in to a statement piece! Just die-cut several times for dimension (I cut four) and emboss it in gold! After gluing all my layers of the Simply Said Hello die together I heat embossed half of it for a gold-dipped look. The Pearl Gold Sparkle embossing powder  that I used is SO lovely!! Paired with the gorgeous Crate Paper Open Book 6x6 collection , a few finishing touches were all it needed. A few light ink splatters using watered down Hot Fudge ink , some gold and South of Market Star sequins and done! Kool Tak Clear Foam and Multi Media Matte were my go-to adhesives for this card. Even though I consider myself a clean and graphic stamper/card-make
