Fox with Flowers Friendship Card with Christy Gets Crafty

Hello friends, it's Christy here with a card using the adorable  MFT Hooray Kind of Day  stamp set designed by Stacey Yacula. All of the images in this set are just so cute, but the fox is my favorite, and I just had to use her on today's card. I colored her and her little snail friend in with Copic Markers and trimmed them out with the  matching dies . For the focal panel, I cut a MFT Wonky Stitched Circle out of Bristol Smooth Surface and watercolored a background using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens . I stamped a sentiment at the top using Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink , and stamped a few more images and another sentiment on the inside of my Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers card base with Peachy Keen Ink . I selected some patterned paper from the  MFT Fun in the Sun  and  Positively Peppy  6x6 pads and trimmed down the largest floral print with the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I layered them on my card front with Tombow Mo...

Pet Lovers Card with Jess + My Favorite Things

Hey y'all! It's Jess and I'm back with another fun card for you this week. I just placed an order from the Butterfly Reflections Ink site this past week and got my super speedy delivery, so I couldn't wait to get crafting with these adorable sets from My Favorite Things. To get started, I stamped out this absolutely adorable girl and her puppy from New Best Friend . I colored her up with Copic markers and then fussy cut her. I stopped cutting when I got to her feet, because I wanted to try a unique way of adding my sentiment this time. Next, I grabbed a scrap from an alcohol ink background I made a while back and trimmed it to match my white cardstock piece. I also cut  down a piece of white cardstock to 4in x 5.25in and then blended on some Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. I loved the way this looked with the coloring on the girl's sweater. I used the sentiment, 'I'm so happy you have a new best friend,' and repeatedly stamped in a line ...

Rain or Shine - My Favorite Things

Hey friends! It's Jess and I'm back with another card for you! I decided to take a break from all things Halloween and Fall for a bit and create something adorable with an all year set from My Favorite Things. For this card, I used Rain or Shine . To start my card off, I stamped this adorable little girl in black ink. Then, I colored her up using Copic markers. Once I finished all of her shading, I moved on to the background. This was total experimentation, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Hooray for stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something I'm not comfortable with yet! I started by adding color around her feet to make it look like she was splashing in a puddle. Then, I decided I wanted to go the whole nine yards and give her an entire scene to play in. I did a little more coloring in the street area, then moved on to the sidewalk. I even put in (what I hope looks like) a little sewage drain. I colored some grass using a few different gr...

Birthday Shadow Box Card

Happy Wednesday, BRI friends! Today, I have a box card featuring lots of MFT products to share with you. I love making box card and shared two box cards in previous DT posts, but I made box card template by myself for today's one. Here is what I came up with. To start, I began by creating two box card templates. I trimmed down kraft paper by 4 1/4" x 6 3/4" and scored it at 5 1/2" and 6 1/2" as shown in the picture. For the front, I stamped MFT Whimsical Woodgrain Background Stamp onto one of the templates with MFT Milk Chocolate Dye Ink using masking technique. I die cut it with MFT Die-namics Linked Chain Oval Frames. I then ink blended back of the chain with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink using Mini Blending Tool. To complete the front, I taped chain frame as shown using paper tape which is similar to 3M Mircopore Tape. I didn't want add an acetate sheet to the back of chain and used paper tape and really love the result! ...

We're Better Together

Good morning everyone, Happy Friday! Gladys here to share this card with you today. For my card I used the Harvest Buddies stamp set from My Favorite Things.    As with most of my card panels I colored it with Ranger distress inks. I blended the colors: abandoned coral , antique linen, twisted citron , and mowed lawn . I add drops of water then picked it up with paper towel. I let the card panel dry then die cut it with  Inside and Out stitched rectangle  to create a frame for my scene. Using my mini MISTI I stamped my sentiment in the center with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .      I colored all the images with copic markers then cut using the coordinating dies . I decided to add more texture on the grass so I randomly flick light to dark shades of green copic markers. I've seen this technique a few times and I think the result looks really cool so I want...

A Big Hello

Good morning! Can you believe today is the last day of September and there's only 3 months left in the year? It's crazy I tell ya... Gladys here thanks for stopping by the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. Today I'm sharing this card which is not my usual but I wanted to make a card other than critters. I really love my floral stamps and this one called  Bold Blooms by My Favorite Things is no exception. It's no surprise I love MFT products! I used MFT premium inks to color my background and flowers. Did you know you can buy MFT inks pads in the shop ? Some of the images on this stamp set allows you to layer on top of each other. Using my MISTI tool I was able to get a nice stamped image of my flowers. Then I cut them using the Bold Blooms coordinating dies . On my card panel I used the Big Hello dienamics . I love this die because you can use the negative and positive cuts or you can piece them together like a puzzle...

Wishing You Tons of Fun

Hi peeps. How's it going? It's me, Vera, here today. As you may or may not know, I am a fan of cute stuff and today's card is no exception. I am playing with one of my favorite MFT set, the Adorable Elephant set. I start by die-cutting the triangles and coloring them with various inks, then adhere them quite randomly. I am quite into this color combo lately. There were a couple cards on my blog post recently using this color combo thought in slightly softer tone. That's what I love about playing with cover up dies, you could really play with the positive parts. Now, from graphic element we transition to the cute element of the card. I love elephant. They're such majestic creature. While writing this post, I just realized that I have stuff animal version of all animals I love, but I don't have elephant, yet. Need to tell hubby to fix this shortage in my stuff animal collection. Hah!! Back to the card, to anchor the elephant, I stand him on some g...

Storybook Bunny and Bear

Hello there! Amy ( The Craft Bunny ) here! I have a sweet watercolor card for you today. I used WPlus9's Fresh Cut Containers and Happy Mail to build the scene here. The Fresh Cut Containers stamp set is surprisingly easy to use! Below are the details and some tips. On watercolor paper, stamp the pot and flowers using various colors of distress inks . Then, soften the image with a water brush. To deepen the shadow, simply go in directly with more of your distress ink. Dawn has shown a perfect example of this technique on WPlus9's YouTube channel. You can watch the video here Stamp the bear, bunny and tree trunk using Memento LUXE Rich Cocoa ink , heat set it, then color with distress inks. I could have done no-line watercoloring for them but I like my animals to have a solid outline Die cut the panel with Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX Stamp the sentiment using the rich cocoa ink and die cut with MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 5 . Mount with foam ta...

Happy Panda Card

Happy Saturday!! Danielle here with a cute card featuring My Favorite Things Stamp Set - Happy Panda's. I just love these little guys they are perfect for girl or Boy cards.  I grabbed a 6 x 6 paper pad , from my stash, but you could use any one from the BRI Store.  First, stamp your Happy Panda with some Memento or MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink , both are perfect for coloring with Copic Markers. This little guy is super easy to color since all you really need to do is shade the white parts of him to make him look more realistic.  Side Note: Did you know that BRI now carry's Copic Markers ?  I was so excited to hear of the great news so I can slowly add to my growing collection.    So, I just layered up some patterned paper to create a focal point. This is an easy way to mass produce cards if needed. You can just change up the patterned paper and stamped image for your theme.  To finish it off I added a piece of vellum with my sentiment, ...

Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone, I'm back with a birthday card using the fun images from the MFT's Whole Herd. I started out by water colouring the background with Cracked Pistachio distress ink and stamped the sentiment with Memento Onyx black ink which is from the same set.  I then cut a frame using the MFT Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched rectangle dies to cut out the frame and popped it up on foam tape on top of the water coloured background.  I cut out the fence from white card stock and glued it directly to the back panel. I added some white dots for dimension to the background with the Pico embellisher.  I coloured the cow in with copics and used the die to cut it out and popped it up on foam tape. We have the  Lawn Fawn Pre-Order  until August 9th, so head over to make sure you get your hands on the newest Fall/Winter Release. Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! My Lucky Star

Hello,  Today, I'm sharing a card featuring My Favorite Things stamps and dies.   I first die cut 2 curved edges on masking paper, then masked my card base.  By using  Tumbled Glass  distress ink, i created the blue background.  Next, I stamped the star images from the stamp set  Count the Stars  on my blue background using  Golden Glitz ink pad .  My "Star" was from  Stars & Wishes  die set and was cut from luxe gold card stock.  I adhered all my sentiment on foam tape.   Thanks so much for stopping by!

You Gnome It! - Sharna W.

Hey again, Sharna here with another card! I just can't stop playing with these Gnomes from My Favorite Things. I really wanted to use green and purple together. So I started blending with some distress inks. Isn't that pistachio so pretty?! The mushrooms & gnome are colored with copics. Supplies: Pistachio - distress ink You Gnome Me stamp set - MFT

Up Up & Away! - Sharna W.

I saw this adorable stamp set come out from My Favorite Things and decided it would be a good set to practice coloring with copics. I tried many variations on hair & outfits before deciding I liked this one for a Mother's Day card. The inside of the card says Happy Mother's day. There is a good variety that this set will work for many occasions. I used the Wplus9 Sunshine layers to cut him out. I trimmed off the edges for a more masculine look to go with the stamp. Finally I layered some Lawn Fawn & Echo Park papers that went with the colors I chose. Supplies Used: Super Boy stamp set - MFT Sunshine Layers die - WPlus9 Anything Goes 6x6 paper - Echo Park
