Hope Your Day is Glitch-Free!

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog to share a card with you! I made this interactive reveal wheel card to send to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Since we don't see them in person as much these days, we have been relying on Zoom to stay in touch, which is represented by this scene. They have a Boston Terrier, who I've placed in the room on the card, and on the computer are me, my husband, my cat Luna and my dog Indiana, saying hello through the screen! I started by assembling the background and interactive pieces. The background ("wallpaper") was cut out of a piece of Lawn Fawn Into the Woods Remix patterned paper using the Reveal Wheel die and Reveal Wheel Rectangle Add-On , but any patterned (or inked!) paper would work for this. The ground was cut using the same die from some Lawn Fawn Woodgrain cardstock and inked slightly with Distress Oxide ink in Weathered Wood . The wheel for the Reveal W...

Hope Your Day Glows!

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog to share another card with you! Today I reached back for the Lawn Fawn Little Fireflies stamp set, but tried to incorporate a Reveal Wheel mechanism into the card. Here's what I came up with! First, I created the background by blending Distress Oxide ink in Black Soot onto a piece of cardstock, and then splattering it with water and yellow watercolour paint. I then cut it down with the basic Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel die - that's the piece you can see behind the word "glows". I also cut a piece of black glitter cardstock with the basic Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel die , and trimmed the top edge down using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Border die . Finally, I splattered some basic black cardstock with shimmer, and cut those pieces the same way - first, with the basic Reveal Wheel die, and then with the Puffy Cloud Border die. I assembled all the pieces together using glue and...

A Typewriter Love Card!

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! My wonderful husband gifted me the Lawn Fawn Love Poems and You're Just My Type stamp sets, along with the coordinating Reveal Wheel Square Window Add-On die set for my birthday earlier this year. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gift (guided a little by my crafty wish list!) and I couldn't wait to start playing with it. So many talented crafters have already made a version of this card, but I had to start by creating the typical typewriter scene, with the sentiments being revealed through the reveal wheel! To make the background, I just drew some stripes with a navy blue watercolour paint across a piece of white paper. I then splattered it with gold watercolour and let it dry while I assembled the rest of the card. For the ground, I cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Knock on Wood patterned paper and cut the border with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders X-patterned die, just t...

You're Just My Type Birthday Card

Hey friends! Britney here with a card featuring several Lawn Fawn products ( Reveal Wheel ,  Love Poems Stamp Set , and  You're Just My Type Stamp Set ). If you’ve ever read any of my previous blog posts before, you know I like to start with my background first. This background was easier than normal as I used  Lawn Fawn’s Really Rainbow Scallops 6x6 Paper Pad . I cut two sheets of the blue using the Reveal Wheel base. One of the bases, I backed it with white cardstock and used the  Reveal Wheel Square Window Add-On  to cut a square window.  I used the Lawn Fawn Picket Fence Border die to make my baseboard and the  Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Cardstock  to make my floor. Before attaching my bases, I stamped the “click clack”, “ding”, and “turn me” using  Versafine Onyx Black Ink . I used the largest of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables for my Blue Jay cardstock and the largest of the  Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle St...

What's for Dinner? Reveal Wheel

Happy Thursday crafty friends, Ashley D. here!   I’m back today with another fun food-themed card featuring some more great new products from the Lawn Fawn Spring 2019 release.   I’m so excited to finally have some fun little food images with the new Lawn Fawn Plan On It: Meal Planning !   I definitely see a bright future for these little guys in my creations to come.   Who doesn’t love to go out to eat on their birthday?   So, I decided to create a fun dining out card featuring a create-your-own-adventure type theme using the clever Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel interactive die.   To begin, I created a simple ink-blended background by using Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass and Broken China on Bristol Smooth cardstock.   I cut it out using the Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel Square Add-On with the Speech Bubble Reveal Wheel Add-On .   I also cut a second stitched square from the same die in plain white cardstock to act as a backer for the future assembl...
