Forever And Always

Happy Wednesday, BRI friends! It's Dana with my final blog post as a part of the Butterfly Reflections Ink design team. I don't believe how quickly the 4 months have flown by. Especially for today, I'm sharing two cards featuring many Altenew products. Let's get started! I began by die cutting both backgrounds from white card stock using Altenew Dotted Debossing Cover Die. I then stamping layering images from Altenew Garden Treasure Stamp Set. For my first card, I used Altenew Tea Party, Summer Afternoon and Green Fields Mini Cube Set. I stamped from solid image of bottom layer to top. I then finished off each stampings by inking outlines using the lightest color which I used for the bottom layer. For small flowers, I stamped them with Memento Desert Sand and colored with Altenew Artist Markers Set B. I then fussy cut all images using scissors and added details to flowers and leaves with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Signo White. I splattered dar...

Hello bluebird trio of cards, featuring no-line coloring

Hello crafty friends!  It's Jung here, and today I am sharing a trio of cards featuring the cutest bunnies from Hello Bluebird stamps. Are you guys comfortable with no-line coloring?  I've only attempted no-line coloring a couple of times, so I decided to practice.  I ended up trying it with 3 different mediums: color pencils, watercolor, and Copic markers.  Funnily enough, the medium I am most comfortable with turned out to be the hardest: Copic markers, and the medium that I have the least experience using turned out to be my favorite: Prismacolor color pencils.  I think it's probably because I can sharpen the color pencils to be super sharp, and can fit in these tiny images.   To make my card: I stamped some of the images from the  Hello Bluebird McGregor's Garden stamp set  onto white cardstock.  I used Lawn Fawn Manatee ink for the images I was going to use the Copic Markers and Prismacolors, and I used Distress Ink in sh...

Gift Toppers/Ornaments

Hello, again!  It's Andrea with you to share some fun gift toppers/ornaments featuring some adorable critters from Neat & Tangled.  I've seen quite a few bloggers who have stamped and colored images on wood slices, and I've been itching to try it myself. After picking up a bag of wood slices from my local craft store, I chose images from Neat & Tangled's Santa's Wonderland (snowman and penguin) and Get Yeti (dog).  I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink  and colored them with my Prismacolor pencils.  To smooth out and blend the coloring, I used Gamsol and some paper stumps.  For some reason, the white pencil did not blend well and really shows the texture of the wood. Once I had finished coloring, I traced over all of my images with a fine-tip black Sharpie and added some highlights with a white gel pen .  I gave some sparkle to the penguin and snowman with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Overlay .   ...

Modern Peony in Pink

Hi friends! Welcome back - it's another HUMP DAY...and my birthday celebration has NOT ended yet! :D Several girlfriends and I are doing an escape room Friday night, then dinner! THEN my celebration will officially be over! HA! Meanwhile, if you have followed along with Vanessa for very long, then you probably know about the loss of her brother! He battled some tough demons; Vanessa has kept her shop running, shipped packages non-stop amidst the angst and heartache. She's so strong! I created this card for her and sent her way; sympathy cards are never easy to make! I stamped the images with Versmark and embossed with white embossing powder then colored with a base layer of Tombow markers and finished it off with Prismacolor Pencils. I did an all over background wash of gray, then added some stronger shadows under the flower and leaves. The sentiment was embossed on vellum and layered on top of other papers. I die cut 2 stitched squares to accentuate the flower an...

Modern Peonies in Gray

Hi friends - happy HUMP DAY!! We're halfway to the weekend - yippee!! Seriously, does Dawn from WPlus9 not have some of the most beautiful flowers for coloring? I took the easy way out and scribbled on Zig Clean Color Brushes in a light gray in the depths and spritzed with water; once dry, I added a darker gray in those same areas and spritzed again. And once again when completely dry, I added a dark, dark gray Prismacolor pencil to the nooks & crannies of the flowers. I also coated each flower twice with clear Wink of Stella - the shimmer is fab, too bad you can't capture it in a photo. #fail I then die cut the leaves from some MFT black and white designer paper and some polka dot vellum. The black background was made MONTHS ago (yikes - so true) with a Hero Arts stencil and translucent embossing paste. Use ANY stencil for the background, but that shine is so cool IRL! I finally used the piece as my backdrop for the flowers and leaves and finished it off wi...

Altenew + Nuvo Mousse

Hi friends - it's HUMP day!! Welcome back! This week I have a simple CAS card inspired by one of the cards in  THIS  post. I stamped the Altenew largest peony on Ranger Watercolor paper and embossed; I wanted to keep the card very clean so I only added the 2nd layer stamp to the image - same with the leaves. Once they were stamped, I die cut and added shading with Prismacolor pencils. I created a frame for the flower with two of the MFT stitched dies then added a layer of Nuvo Platinum Mousse colored with Lawn Fawn Sugar Plum - IT IS SOOOO SPARKLY!! Once it dried, I added some additional ink around the bottom edges of the frame for a bit of an ombre look. I then added a heavy layer of shimmer mist to the flower and leaves before adhering everything together. I finished it off with some sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some ombre purple paper inside! Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week - see you again soon! Hugs! WHAT'S IT TAKE?...
