November mood board inspiration with Jane

Hi Friends!  I'm back again sharing some mood board inspiration for you!  Check out the beautiful colors on this month's mood board.   Honestly, I struggled with this one a bit.  These colors represent a tetradic color scheme, and are often difficult to put together without becoming overwhelming.  I choose to find balance by using an equal amount of each color on my card.  Everything was bound together by using gold highlights, since gold seemed to fit in nicely with each color on the mood board.   To start, I masked off an A2 size of Bristol smooth cardstock on top and bottom using post-it tape.  Next, I ink blended the following distress oxide inks (left to right): mustard seed , abandoned coral , evergreen bough , wilted violet .  Next, I used the happy trails stencil by simple stories to ink in the forest background.  Distress Inks used from left to right: fossilized amber, picked raspberry, lucky clover and seedless preserves....

November mood board inspiration with Jane

Hi Friends!  I'm back sharing a mood board inspired card with you today.  This month's board features both warm and cool colors, which are sometimes difficult to incorporate into cards.  I decided to keep the leaves vibrant and warm while keeping the background on the cooler side.  I thought the contrast in color as well as the white gave the card a nice look.  What do you think? To start, I ink blended crimson and sun kissed Altenew inks on white cardstock.  Next, I used the small stitched leaves die to cut the leaves.   Wonderful window die cut using white cardstock and stacked twice to create a dimension.  I traced the window die on a piece of white cardstock and cut it using scissors.  Next, I used emerald ink from Altenew to ink blend a soft teal behind the window.   I masked off the bottom panel of a white card base and ink blended a plaid background using the diamond plaid stencil by Pinkfresh studio .  Altenew ink...
Hi Friends!  I'm sharing this pretty fall card using inspiration from the September mood board.  This card uses products from Pretty Pink Posh which can be purchased at the Butterfly Reflections Ink store.   To start, I ink blended a background by using an oval stencil and some distress oxide inks.   Chipped sapphire , faded jeans and rusty hinge inks used from top to bottom.  Next, I splattered the background with some gold ink.  Then, I die cut images from the small stitched foliage dies and ink blended the leaves pink (spun sugar and picked raspberry) and pumpkins orange (crackling campfire and mustard seed).   The image of the cat was stamped from pumpkin patch critters and colored using copics.  I cut the image using the coordinating dies .  The images were then glued to the background.  For the sentiment, I used the "welcome" from the welcome little one die set  and stacked it three times to create dimension.  ...

Happy Autumn Scene!

Hi everyone!  I'm back today with another fall-themed card.  This scene takes place in a happy apple orchard filled with cute little critters.  The little bird at the top is next to the speech bubble with different sentiments revealed with the turn of the wheel.  These interactive cards are so much fun to make!  Here is how I created this one... Using two pieces of Bristol smooth cardstock, I ink blended the following distress oxide colors (top to bottom): abandoned coral , wild honey , mustard seed and crushed olive .  Water drops were splattered onto both backgrounds using a paintbrush.  Then, one of the ink blended backgrounds was cut using the reveal wheel die and the r eveal wheel speech bubble add-on .  Then both of the card stock backgrounds were cut using the stitched cloud backdrop die to create the stitched cloud background.  The reveal wheel "wheel" was ink blended using abandoned coral, wild honey and mustard seed inks. ...

You're the Pick of the Patch!

Hi Everyone!  I'm here with another fall card to share with you.  This slimline card measures 3.5 inches by 8.5 inches and was inspired by the colors on the BRI mood board for October .  I hope you all play along this month!  There will be two giveaways this month so be sure to upload your creations! Using a large piece of Bristol cardstock, I ink blended the following distress oxide colors (top to bottom):   rusty hinge , victorian velvet , spun sugar , peeled paint and evergreen bough .  Then I splatted some water and corresponding inks on the background.  Then using the second largest rectangle die from the stitched rectangle frames die, I cut the cardstock.  You have to cut the cardstock very carefully and make sure not to cut sooner than you need (I usually keep the edge of the paper outside my cutting plate to achieve this type of cut). Then using the simple grassy hillsides die , I cut the bottom half of the cardstock and layered...
