Go and Do Amazing Things!

Hello! Samantha here, and today I have a fun card with yes...a rainbow! Ha! You know I can't resit coloring a rainbow... Anyway...Ha! I started buy heat embossing the image from Neat and Tangled Origami Map , and then coloring it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! LOVE anything origami shaped like this! It's so FUN! Once it was dry, I fussy cut out the images and then popped them up with foam tape ! I used the Carta Bella Woodgrain #2 stencil and some of my favorite white embossing paste ! I tinted the white embossing paste with a just a pinch of black ink to give it a light grey look! Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock and popped it up, too! Thanks so much for hanging out on this Saturday morning with me! ~ Samantha

Pumpkin Spice Fall Leaves

Hi everyone, It's Jenny here and I'm back with another fall/autumn themed card, despite the fact that the weather here in New York is glorious and super hot!  (Seems like we are getting another last gasp of summer!) The card I'm showing today uses a very versatile design, and is so quick and easy.  Several of the new Carta Bella stencils in stock, or many of the repeating pattern stencils could be used for this technique, and with so many Nuvo Mousse colors and glitter colours, the sky is the limit!! The stencil I used today is the Carta Bella Fall Leaves stencil.  I love the all over pattern this creates, and the detail in the leaves is fabulous.  Stencils are one of my favorite card making supplies as there are so many ways to use them and they're great on the wallet. To create this card I took a white card panel (I used sturdier cardstock 110lb) trimmed to slightly smaller than an A2 size card.  I taped it down to a craft mat and then lay the ste...

Find Joy in the Ordinary

Well hello everyone!!  Laurie  here!!!  I'm pretty happy that March is a long month, only because it gave me the opportunity to post here...I've missed you guys :) I've really been drawn to clean and simple card making lately and am learning how to embrace white space.  So let's get started! I started by stamping the largest flower image from the  Scandinavian Prints Stamp Set  with  Memento Tuxedo Black  Ink onto white cardstock.  I stamped the centres of the flowers onto a scrap of yellow cardstock, also using black ink.  I left the flowers white but to take away a bit of the starkness, I used a cool grey alcohol marker around the edges and blended it out with a colourless blender.  I used the  Co-ordinating Dies  to cut each image out.  For the leaves, I used the new  Medallion Flower Builder Dies .  I chose two of the leaves with the open centres and the three other small solid leaves.  These we...

A Novel Birthday

Hey crafty friends, it's Christy , back with my Friday Feature at BRI. This week I needed a special birthday card for a very special lady in my writer's group, and I knew that the  MFT Our Story  stamp set was going to work perfectly to create the look I was after. I did a combination of Copic coloring and paper piecing using the absolutely gorgeous  Flora 6x6 by Carta Bella . Now, I'll admit, it did take me a while to fussy cut those beautiful patterns for the chair and some of my book covers and layer them over the matching die cuts , but since the Birthday Girl, Alice, was turning 85 years young, it was totally worth the extra effort. I even added her little dog, Gypsy, into the scene. To create a soft background and ground my images I did some simple masking and sponging of Distress Inks . Then I framed up my focal panel by giving it a nice stitched edge with the  Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables  and used lots of foam tape to laye...
