Home for the Holidays with Pinkfresh Studios

Hi everyone! I can't believe this is my last blog post as part of the Butterfly Reflections, Ink design team! I've had so much fun over the last few months being a part of this team and I'm sad to see it come to an end. I know Vanessa will pick and amazing team to take over and I can't wait to see all their creations. For today's card, I'm getting into the holiday spirit with the latest release from  Pinkfresh Studio . I was obsessed with the  Cityscape Die  from the moment I first saw it. I used it with the  Home for the Holidays Stamp Set  to make the sweetest little Christmas scene. They also have a  Day in the City Stamp Set  which goes with the  Cityscape Die  for every day cards without a holiday flare. I started with cutting the  Cityscape Die  out of Bristol Smooth card stock since I knew I was going to be doing some ink blending over the die cut panel. I then stamped all the images using my  MISTI ...

One Altenew cover plate, three cards

Hello, hello, everyone! Today I've got three cards for you. They all have a few things in common: Altenew's Striped Leaf Cover Die , they are all 'thank you' cards AND they have all been made without a single stamp set in sight! Curious? Let's get to it then, shall we? For my first card I used the cover die as a stamp by inking it up with Altenew Lava Rock dye ink and then pressing down on slight grey cards stock. It didn't make a perfect stamped image, of course, BUT it was good enough! I added some details to each leaf petal with some Copic markers, YG01 and YG23. To add some extra details I also dabbed some Nuvo Jewel drops in Key Lime on each one, kind of like dew drops. I wanted to keep it simple sentiment wise so I just cut out the word 'thanks' in Brushed Gold card stock, using Altenew Inline Alpha Dies . I trimmed down the panel a tiny, tiny bit and added it to a white card base. Using foam tape of course. For my second car...

Stained "Glass' Maple Leaf

Hi Everyone! It's Jenny here and I'm back with another fall themed card, this time using a fun technique that you might have seen on my card shown for the Design Team Introductions blog post here .  I've got a full breakdown of how you can do this technique here, with a bit of twist. To create this card or one similar, you ideally need a die that has lots of 'compartments' or sections.  I used the Neat & Tangled Maple Thanks leaf die.  They also recently brought out an  Oak Leaf die which would work perfectly (it's on my wanted list !)  You'll also need some liquid medium such as Nuvo Drops (here I used Nuvo Jewel Drops in Pale Periwinkle which dries translucent but the solid and glitter drops, or even just Glossy Accents work just as well) First you need to create a good frame for your drops.  I've tried a number of ways to do this but by far the best way that worked for me was die cutting the shape from thick cardstock (100lb+) four ti...

Kraft and colored pencils!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning and I am sharing an anniversary card today made with one of my favorite mixes - colored pencils on Kraft card stock! These are all products you can find in BR shop ! I started with a piece of Kraft card stock and stamped my flowers and leaves from Winnie & Walter's In Bloom - Addie's Garden  (I am obsessed with this set lately) set with Kraft colored ink and I colored them with my Prismacolor pencils. I guess with Easter around the corner, my color palette became what it is! When it came time to add a sentiment (this is an anniversary card for my parents :)) I, again, turned to my current obsession, the Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy L awn Cuts and stamps .  I stamped the anniversary sentiment on a piece of Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper and die cut the Happy out of lavender card stock and stamped the "happy" on top in Versafine Onyx Black. I then felt that the left side looked slightly empty so I pu...

Monday Rainbow MFT Hugs!

Happy Monday, Kim with you here this morning sharing a rainbow themed card featuring MFT product from the Butterfly Reflections Ink store!!! It was such cold weekend I decided to hibernate a little a find some well deserved quiet time in my craft room! I absolutely wanted to use the Furever Friends stamp and die sets by My Favorite Things, there is just something about the MFT images that I love. After colouring my images with my Copic markers , I decided I wanted an anchor for them and what better than the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Big Hugs die ! I decided to die cut it from the new Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6 papers , I am so going to need to order more of this paper pack! I then decided to die cut the bottom of my base panel using the My Favorite Things  Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2  and repeated it with some more of the same Lawn Fawn pattern paper. I put the card together and added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequi...
