Loads of Happy Mail from Erica

Hi guys! Today I have the pleasure of being a guest designer here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog . Oh and hi, it’s Erica , by the way. I had an idea (for ONE card) in mind when I started making it but things kind of took a life of its own and all of a sudden, I was making four. Because why not? Two are done with heat embossing and Distress Oxide resist emboss ink blending, and the other two are just straight up stamped and coloured with Copics. All four cards have the Mail Background stamp from Neat & Tangled on them. The two done with heat embossing are done in Opaque Bright White embossing powder from WOW! Embossing. This is probably my fave white embossing powder, however there are many good ones to choose from HERE . They actually looked really nice with just the heat embossing done. These would make perfect backgrounds for Clean And Simple designs. A little bit of interest and texture but in white on white it’s...

I used the adorable Stay Cool stamp set from Neat and Tangled! and good news people - it's currently on sale!! Now, I fussy cut my images, but there are also coordinating dies , so be sure to grab those, too! I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. then I also added a little bit of Frosted Lace Stickles to the puffy parts of the coat and the tops of the mountains! I love that super subtle touch of glitter! For the background, I did was watercoloring with Seedless Preserves , Picked Raspberries and Dried Marigold Distress Inks! Once it was dry, I used some white embossing paste and the most perfect star stencil to add texture to the background! Hope this card makes you feel alllll the warm and fuzzies! (and I hope this cool weather stays for me! ha!!) Enjoy! ~ Samantha

Floating into Summer

Hello, BRI friends!  It's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of sharing on the BRI blog, but I'm happy to be back with you today! My card today screams SUMMER!!!  It features some oldie-but-goodie products and was a total blast to create! Aren't those colors so dreamy?!  And I just love that cutie patootie from Neat & Tangled's Flamingo Floatie !  (FYI, this stamp set is on SALE in the shop right now!)  I stamped her with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored her with my Zigs.  Naturally, I added some highlights with my white gel pen ("Have gel pen, will travel" is my motto). While I love that little girl on her floatie, I'm totally head-over-heels for the yummy colors of that background!  On an A2 panel of Bristol Smooth paper, I masked off a horizon line and blended on Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.  Next, I placed Neat & Tangled's Rice Paddies Stencil on top and added more Mermaid Lagoon.  I didn't get the ...

Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock! Thanks so much for hanging with me! Hope this made you smile! ~ Samantha

Water coloured card with Erica using Neat & Tangled and The Stamp Market goodies

Hi guys! It’s Erica popping in, with a guest design post, here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog , today! How are we all doing? All good or drooling over the latest releases and wondering if it’s socially acceptable to live on water and bread to sustain your craft stuff addition? Or is that just me, lol! Today I have a card made with some new to me stuff from both The Stamp Market and Neat & Tangled . I tried my hardest to resist the latest couple of releases but failed rather spectacularly. Oh well, the stuff I got was only the tip of the ice berg (that is my wish list!) but oh wow... I’m seriously in love with that Love You diecut from Neat & Tangled and the Diamond Design Background Stamp from The Stamp Market ? There are so many colour combinations I want to try with it. I have a load of ready made A2 sized panels in all sorts of card stock for a quick start when inspiration hits, and these panels I store in plastic bags labelled with the kind of card s...

Magical Winter

Hello, BRI fans!  Toni here with my first post as a member of the BRI design team. I so look forward to sharing my creations with you over the coming months! I'm using Neat and Tangled Stay Cool images that I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics . I've been interested in creating more shading lately so relied heavily on BV23. You can especially see it on the dark areas of the fur on the girl's clothing. Once the images were colored up I chose some Echo Park Celebrate Winter paper to use for the sky and hills. I diecut the hills using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders . I love that the hillside is in an unexpected patterned paper that totally works for the scene.  Lastly I popped the images up on foam tape and stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairy Friends onto a strip of white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black . Feel free to check out my blog, Frankie Helps Craft , to see my other creations.  In the meantime, stay warm a...

You Make Me Smile

Hi, BRI fans!  It's Andrea with you today.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones!  It's always a little sad when it's over, though, isn't it?  Well, I have a card today that will hopefully make you smile (and get you thinking about Valentine's Day cards, too! ;) ). How sweet is that little fox?!  That cutie is from Neat & Tangled's So Foxy stamp set.  I stamped him with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored him with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a water brush.  The sentiment on his banner is from Neat & Tangled's So Many Sentiments set and was also stamped with Onyx Black. I created the background for my fox by inking up N & T's Hexastar Stencil with Worn Lipstick distress ink .  I mixed the same ink with a small amount of water and flicked on some splatters.  I trimmed the panel down, matted it with some patterned paper from my stash, and adhered that to a white card. Using Neat ...

New Year's Card

Happy Saturday, everyone! It's Dana here from Dana G.Crafts and I'm sharing New Year card with you today. To begin, I stamped critters and bicycle images from Neat & Tangled Ride With ME Stamp Set using MFT Extreme Black Ink. I colored them with Copic markers and added highlight with White Gel Pen. For background, I ink blended A2 sized white card stock using Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks. I splattered Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink with clean water here and there and let it dried. I then stamped only '2019' image from Altenew 2019 Stamp Set and stamped another sentiment from Neat & Tangled Ride With Me Stamp Set.  Next, I embellished 2019 numbers with Studio Katia crystals using Multi Medium Matte. I used July Crystals, October Crystals and Sparkling Crystals. To finish off, I foam mounted colored images as shown in the picture. Hope you enjoyed this card. Thank you so much for join...

Sending Some Beary Warm Wishes

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing this CUTE as can be card! I used the new Stay Cool stamp set from Neat and Tangled ! I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat set the ink. Once it was cool, I started coloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out the image!  I added some details with a white pen, and then some foam tape to the back of the image! But you could also use the coordinating dies to make things REAL easy! For the background, I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold to do some ink blending! Then, I splattered some water and white acrylic paint onto the background! The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock! :) A few clear sequins finished off the card! Hope this made you smile, and brightened your Saturday up a little!  ~ Samantha

Christmas Cards with Neat & Tangled's Nativity Play and Angel Wings

Hello and happy Friday!  It's Andrea with you today, and, boy, has it been awhile since I've been here!  I'm thrilled to be guest designing today: I was so excited, in fact, that I created two cards to share with you!  So, grab a cuppa, sit back, and enjoy! I just adore Neat & Tangled's Nativity Play and Angel Wings sets!  They remind me of the Christmas pageants I was in growing up.  Did you know that there was a pig at Jesus's birth?  Yep, there sure was because I portrayed one - complete with a solo (no, not a chorus of oinks, thank you very much)! I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink , colored with Copics, and trimmed them out. I think Neat & Tangled's Radiating Star Stencil is perfect for these sets and knew I had to use it on one of my cards.  For this card, I masked off the ground with post-it tape, placed the stencil over my paper, and ink-blended with Fossilized Amber distress ink.  I removed ...

Hi! Samantha here, and today I am sharing a cute little winter scene with some Neat and Tangled stamp sets!  I just LOVE how this came out! I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out, but never fear!! There are also coordinating dies ! The background was ink blended with Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks !! I finished off the card with that heat embossed sentiment! Hope you like it! And hope you caught the shoppin' 'til you dropping' bug! enjoy! ~ Samantha
