Skating Penguins with Leontine

Hello! How are you all doing? I hope you had/have a lovely Christmas? Today I'm back on the blog with a wintery card using the totally adorable penguins from Mama Elephant. You can find the products I used in the shop and I will link them for you as well.   First I stamped four penguins from Penguins Go Skating and the sentiment from Tree Picking on some copic friendly paper that I cut as a semi slimline with my paper trimmer. I used my Misti to help me ink the stamps three times on the same spot to get nice black outlines with the MFT Extreme Black ink pad . Once those stamps were done I added the penguin with earmuffs super close to the penguin on the left, so it looks like they are skating together.  I was left with a very empty canvas, that was ready to be colored. It always scares me a little, because I know how I want it to look, but I'm not always sure I can pull it off. But, baby steps help right? So I grabbed my Copic Sketch Markers and started coloring the ...

Winter Wonderland Card

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome back to the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog and my FIRST post! I'm so excited to be here and can't wait to share a whole lot of inspiration with you! I love all things floral and recently started coloring critters! So it was fitting to share a critter card!  I'm all for stretching stamp sets, so just cause the holidays are over doesn't mean we can't keep making winter cards! I never got to these stamps last year, so I had to get them inky!  To create the card I started by stamping the three critters from the  Winter Magic Stamp Set  on to watercolor paper  and colored them using Zig Real Brush markers. Then I fussy the images.  To create the 'scene' I die cut the scallop and stitched rectangle (with the windows) from the  Slim Card Basics Creative Cuts . I ink blended the edge of the scalloped rectangle with some distress oxide ink in Tumbled Glass , then I used the same ink to stamp the snowflakes from the  B...

Dashin' Thru the Snow

Hi everyone! Tina here with a winter themed card featuring some cuteness from Mama Elephant. I just adore these critters from the Dashin Thru the Snow stamps. I stamped, embossed and colored up these cuties using Copic markers. The images can be cut using the coordinating Dashin Thru the Snow Creative Cuts . For the background I used a soft blend of Distress Inks in Milled Lavender, Broken Glass, Peacock Feathers and Broken China. I splattered water, white paint and shimmer spray across the background and added some snowflake sequins from my stash. The beautiful snowflake frame die is the Mama Elephant Flurry Frame Creative Cuts.   It's the perfect sized layer for an A2 card base. I used the Lawn Fawn Slimline Forest Border Die to create the hill. The banner is also part of the frame die set and I stamped and embossed the sentiment.  Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday :)

Wishing You Warm Winter Fuzzies

Hello crafty friends! It's Tina here and I have slimline holiday card to share featuring some Mama Elephant cuteness! I used the adorable Snow Friends stamp that also has a coordinating die Snow Friends Creative Cuts. I stamped, embossed and colored the images using Copic markers. I inked the scalloped background from the Mama Elephant Slim Window Dressing  die using a soft blend of Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Milled Lavender Distress Inks. I also used the Mama Elephant Slim Woodland Creative Cuts . This creates such a wonderful landscape background! I stamped and embossed the sentiment and added some snowflake sequins to the background. Using a gel pen I added some polka dots to the hats and scarves. These images are just the cutest!  Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you like my card. Have a great day :)

Have an Otterly Great Birthday

Hi everyone! Tina here with a set of winter themed birthday cards featuring one of my favorite  Lawn Fawn stamps:  Winter Otter.   For the background I used Distress Inks in Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Milled Lavender and Wilted Violet and the "smoosh" technique to create the icy water splashed look. I die cut the panel with the Mama Elephant Sweet Feline frame die . I stamped, embossed and colored the otters with Copic markers. Using a white gel pen I added some snowflakes to the scarves and cut them out with the coordinating Winter Otter Lawn Cuts. The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Year Five stamp set and I stamped and embossed it using Versifine black ink.   I cut the snowflakes using the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes dies and some white glittered card stock.   I'm always in need of birthday cards and thought these would be perfect for my friends with winter birthdays!! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you like my cards. Have a great day :)...

Snowflake kisses

Hi Everyone!  I'm sharing a colorful card I created using a few items from the new HelloBlueBird release .  You can find all the new sets at Butterfly Reflections Ink ! To start, I cut a piece of Arches hot press watercolor paper to A2 size.  Then, using distress stains I smooshed the colors on to the watercolor paper using a piece of acetate (you could substitute either distress inks or liquid watercolor to create the same look).  I choose a mix of yellows, pinks, oranges and reds to create this colorful look.  Then using gold ink , I splattered the background.  The panel was left to dry overnight.  Winter Woods Overlay die was cut from white heavy weight cardstock and adhered using liquid glue to the background panel.  The sentiment from first snow stamp set was stamped using VersaMark ink and white heat embossed .  The bunnies from first snow were stamped on a separate piece of Bristol cardstock using Versafine Clair in noctu...

Merry Christmas card

Hello everyone ! Alexandra here today and wanted to share with you a card that i' ve created using some Lawn Fawn products combinate with and older die cut that I had on my stash from Memory box. For my card I started by stamping the images from Frosty fairy friends stamp set , and colored them using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Once all the images were colored and cut I started working on the background and took this snowflake die from Memory box called Snowy scene and I really love that this die cuts and emboss snowflakes si you can have more usage of it! To create the background I wanted something different from my usual blue background but still wanted to have a bit of blue as I used some for my images . So I took my all time favorite Distress ink which is Peacock feathers and Seedless Preserved distress ink and initially I thought that it will be a hot mess :)) but I really loved how unique the background turned out! To add a little something something t...

Penny Black All Lit Up + MFT Delightful Deer

Hi everyone, Amanda here today with a project I created using my favorite theme, nature and deer combined!  Add in a little  distress inking and WOW!   So I started with an A2 sized panel. I cut a hill using Newton's Nook Designs Land Borders  to create a mask for the bottom. I distress inked from center of my panel, working outward using a combination of yellows, greens and blues. I inked all the way down to the hill, then removed it to leave the white of the card appearing to be a snow hill. Now I take this GORGEOUS stamp, All Lit Up by Penny Black  and stamp it using VersaFine Black Onyx ink.  Using my MISTI, I was able to stamp it twice to get a nice dark impression. I then cut white acrylic paint 50/50 and tapped it on my night sky using a small paint brush. You'll notice on the image, there are little circles where you'd color in your lights or ornaments. I chose to use Nuvo Drops in gold and silver.  While all that was dry...

Frosty Friends Greetings

Hello friends! Gladys here and I'm back on the blog today to share this winter card. I hope you like it!   For this card I made the background using distress oxide inks  in tumbled glass, shaded lilac and seedless preserves. These adorable images are from Hello Bluebird called Frosty Friends . I colored the bear, reindeer and snowman using copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies . I also used the speech bubble sentiments. I decided to add a frame around my images so I cut a piece of white cardstock using My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames . Lastly, I adhered all the elements using foam tape for dimension and that completes my card. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!!
