Unicorns & Rainbows

Hello there, friends! It's Christy from Christy Gets Crafty here today with a cute card featuring  My Favorite Things Fairy-tale Friends . These unicorns and rainbows are so much fun to color! And to make things even sweeter, I added in a few cupcakes from  Birdie Brown's Birth-Yay . After I stamped and colored all my images with Copic markers , I trimmed them out with the  matching dies.  Then I die-cut two cloud panels using  Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders . I glued the back one down flat to the card base with liquid glue, then stamped my sentiment on the front panel with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink and popped it up with foam tape . I adhered my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape, then stamped out the little sparkle marks from A Little Sparkle in Forget-Me-Not and Moonstone ink . As a finishing touch, I dabbed on a bit of Crystal Stickles to my unicorns horn and wings, the rainbow, and cupcake liners to  bring some...

Rain or Shine

Hello crafty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Gladys here and I'm sharing this two scene in one card today. I have quite a few steps to cover so let's get started shall we.   So the weather where I live has been bonkers lately. In one week we've had rain, wind, sunshine, and winter temperature...I'm so confused sometimes I don't know what to wear for the day. (Ok I lied that's pretty much everyday for me, the struggle is real people!) Well today my card is all about weather and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is ready for warmer temps and to see all the pretty flowers in full bloom.Yes bring on the sunshine because I sure need some Vitamin D.    For my card I used a lot of MFT products. I adore their new stamp set called Rain or Shine from the amazing Birdie Brown collection. The stamp set come with two girl images, four adorable little ducklings, sun, clouds and a puddle to create the perfe...
Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite techniques with you that I used to create this fall inspired card! It's a simple technique but very impactful, and can be used with any color scheme imaginable! Check it out- I created the background with the ever reliably awesome Distress Inks . All you need is a few colors and a simple mask, I used a scrap piece of paper. You start with one color at the bottom of your card and ink blend upwards with alternating colors and angles of the mask, creating a background full of impactful color and interest. I used some beautiful shades of autumn but I can't wait to use some cool blues and soft purples for a winter themed card. I added some water drops and white splatter for some additional interest. To finish off the card I added a zig zag rectangle panel in white (to calm myself down from the non-CAS background) and a Bitty Bear with the most adorable little umbrella. A sentiment from the same MFT set finished it off ...

You are Mermazing!

Hello there! Gladys here and I'm excited to be back on the BRI blog today. I have a mermaid shaker card for you with lots of products from different companies. Let's get started shall we?   I always start out by cutting watercolor paper using a stitched rectangle die for my card panel. Then I create my own background colors, this time I used distress oxides inks in wilted violet , broken china , cracked pistachio and fossilized amber . As you can see these inks blend so well together you won't even break a sweat! I splattered some water onto my panel and let it completely air dry.      While that was drying I colored my images from the Mermazing stamp set by My Favorite Things using copic markers. I also used  MFT dye inks for the solid images such as the corals and kelp. I used the  Mermazing coordinating dies to cut my images. Back to my card panel, I used the  lacy l...

Friends like you are rare

Hello! It's Gladys here with another card share. I'm featuring products newly released by My Favorite Things . This month's release was full of awesome Christmas stamps and another cute critter by Birdie Brown called Beast Friends . These yeti's are super adorable and fun and comes with punny sentiment which is awesome!   Let's get started! I love stencils because it takes away the hassle of creating backgrounds. Don't get me wrong I love creating scenes but if you don't have a whole lot of time like me using a stencil will make your card making process much easier. I picked up the Moroccan lattice stencil and it's absolutely gorgeous! Don't you think? I did some distressing using picked raspberry , cracked pistachio and peacock feathers . That was all to it for the background. Easy peasy!   I did a little bit of copic coloring on one of the yeti's from the stamp set. I die cut it using the coordinating dies . N...
