March

Hey guys, it's Shawna.  I am writing my final post as DT Coordinator for BRI.  I decided to step down and take a break and let someone else have the amazing opportunity! It has been so fun and you won't be totally rid of me. I will still be back with some more projects in the future! Today's project is a single project life spread. Just finishing up March.  I know it isn't quite over but getting a jump on things.  Hopefully nothing insanely exciting happens today LOL.  I'm betting not.  I used a bunch of great products from the shop on this one. Super Hello

The superhero theme runs rampant in our household. An eight year old and six year old? Yes, we're big Batman and Wonder Woman fans. I say to my children ALL the time, "I'm not saying I'm Wonder Woman, but you've never seen both of us in the room at the same time, now have you?" So really I *could* be Wonder Woman. Just sayin'.  Needless to say, I adore this Super stamp set by Avery Elle . It evokes the right amount of comic book/superhero fun. First, I stamped and masked the beacon, then stamped the clouds over top on white cardstock. I coloured in some blue Copic marker and heat embossed sparkly embossing powder along the cloud line. After trimming around the cloud line I popped the panel up on patterned paper from The Everyday Collection by Avery Elle using foam tape. The big skyline stamp is just perfect for colouring or paper piecing like I did here. I fussy cut it, but the coordinating dies would make it a whole lot easier. The sentiment wa

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Well I have to say this post is bitter sweet for me as it's my last one for the Jan-Mar DT term is now coming to an end.  But you haven't seen the last of me! With that, here is my card. I used the WPlus9 Sunshine Layers dies for the panels.  The inside panel is from MME  and I used the 3x4 die in this set and the pink panel is regular card stock and I used the scalloped die. I used a piece of scrap card stock and from WPlus9 More Fresh Cuts I stamped the Happy birthday sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it with Hero Arts white embossing powder .  I also used the Scribbles MFT dies and cut them out vellum.  In the corners of the card base I used the corner stamp from the LF Blissful Botanicals which is an oldie but a goodie and I used Hero Art soft pool ink just to give it a bit of interest.  I finished off the card with a few sequins .   I'm the type that I keep my newest goodies on my desk in a basket but to me as soon

Be happy and smile

Hi all!  Here's a pretty Clean And Simple card I made using some new MFT goodies - the Circle Scribble Flower stamp set , matching dies , Scribbles die-namics and finally, a sentiment from the Totally Happy stamp set .  This card came together pretty quickly.  The scribble die-namic over the brick red flower is gold foil paper. Thanks for stopping by!  The store is LOADED up with LOTS of new goodies!  Go check it out!!! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! Angel

Ellie!!!

Hello BRI Fans!!! Its me Piali, I'm back! I love posting here and all the lovely goodies in Butterfly Reflections, Ink store !! Nowadays Elephants are super trendy...love all cute elephants stamps available in BRI store. Today I used " Ellie " from Avery Elle stamps ...cutest one ever!!! I also used few other Avery Elle stamps to create my background and for sentiment. I also used the new Distress ink colors.... Cracked Pistachio and Abandoned Coral . These colors work great with Peacock Feathers & Mowed Lawn.   I love THIS narrow black & white washi tape. I colored the cute Ellie and bunny with Water Color and Waterbrush. Hope you all like this card!! Make sure to check out the BRI store for all the fabulous new goodies. Thanks for stopping by.. Happy Crafting!! Piali

Love Card

It's Shawna today with a card share.  I am using the Dear Lizzy Serendipity 6x6 and 3 hybrid inks from My Favorite Things to get a ombre effect with a star stamp.  I used Tropical Teal , Berrylicious , and Sno Cone .   I stamped and cut my star pattern to size and chose colors from the paper that would coordinate nicely.  I added the cute mason jar chipboard and also the xoxo from the Serendipity foil thickers . I felt it needed a bit more sparkle so i added the bow.  I hope you enjoy my little card share today. Thanks for stopping by!

Get Messy!

I don't generally consider myself a 'messy' cardmaker. Things are kept neat, tidy and organized on my desk and that seems to flow over to my cardmaking canvases as well. Clean and crisp designs are what I tend to favour. That being said, sometimes it is FUN to get messy and play around with supplies on hand.  I put Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to work on this card by blending it in along with black dye ink onto a white card base. I heat set it to make sure it was fully dry before using my finger to smear some Versamark ink in a few places. Gold sparkle embossing powder was sprinkled over top and I heat set it from underneath so it wouldn't blow away. The sentiment from Starry Night was heat embossed with white powder, and the word 'stars' was stamped in black and heat embossed with clear over top. A few black stars were stamped, and some black ink splattered over top. The final touch was a couple of teeny tiny gold star sequins adhered randomly.

Sending Sunshine

Hello everyone! I'm back with a card that I hope will brighten your day.  We are still getting hit with more snow again this weekend and I needed something to brighten my day, that's for sure! I started with a standard A2 size card base and I taped off the sides with some post-it tape to give me a 1" border.  I took a straight edge and I used Hero Arts shadow ink, Pumpkin Pie, Butter Bar and Soft Vanilla and a blending tool and made rays of sunlight. I used the Sunshine Layers dies and the Sending Sunshine stamps from WPlus9 for the sentiment.  I put some of the Pumpkin Pie ink on some white card stock and cut it out with the "Sunshine" die. I use the Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen on the Sunshine die cut and then coated it in a good layer of Glossy Accents.   I used Memento Onyx black ink for the other part of the sentiment.  Supplies: WPlus9  Sunshine Layers Dies WPlus9  Sending Sunshine stamp set Hero Arts Inks Memento Onyx Bla

You make life fun!

Hello, it's Amy !  I've been having so much fun being the March Guestie at Butterfly Reflections Ink! I couldn't resist picking up the Avery Elle set: We Go Together clear stamps I teamed it up with the Pebbles 6x6 pad We Go Together Can you see the frosting on the donut?  I've added glossy accents to it. Make sure you stop by the store and check out all the fun goodies!

March Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here with you today to share this month's mood board! I seem to be using a lot of yellow lately, which was the starting point for the collection. I just love the contrast of it paired with hot pink, mint and teal! And here is the layout I created! I love how this layout turned out and how the colors pulled together. I'm not crazy about my title, that seems to be my biggest hang up with layouts, but I love it anyway! Has this color combo inspired you? Link me up in the comments with your own creation! Hello, friend!

Hello, Butterfly Reflections friends! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts  and I am excited to be in the Butterfly Reflection, Ink blog today! One of the colors I gave myself for 2015 was to improve my coloring skills. It is a work in progress and I am having a blast with it! Have you noticed that there are several cute elephant stamps out there!  I bought the Avery Elle Ellie stamp set from the Butterfly Reflections .   This elephant is simply adorable! Because I am learning (and make lots of mistakes) I stamp the scene on a blank cardstock. Then I stamp the images I will be coloring onto a separate sheet. That way if I make a mistake it is not on the actual card. After I few attempts, I was finally happy with the coloring. I cut out the elephant and attached to the card. I did the same step with the balloons. The grass and flowers are stamped and colored. A simple sentiment is used to finish the card.   **This Avery Elle set is currently out of stock, but check

New Do

Hi guys, it's Shawna today with an 8.5x11 layout share.  Today's layout feature my daughters new hair cut and the adorable Playful collection.  I love all of the fun, colorful and super playful patterns in this collection.  It isn't just great for Project Life as intended but I am enjoying using it for layouts as well.  You can purchase the 6x6 here in the shop. I also used the Dear Lizzy Serendipity thickers and some of the Evalicious gold puffy stickers.  These puffies are no longer available but check out all of these other fun options in the store.. Puffies .  This is a pretty simple and quick page. A little paper layering and some added embellishments.  I hope you enjoy this layout inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!

Glittered Glass

I have a fun (but messy to make!) card for you today.  Glitter. Oh glitter. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It's sooooo pretty and sparkly. I loooove sparkly stuff. Unfortunately it gets everywhere. I end up sneezing glitter and ultimately end up with my head tilted back and my dear husband trying to pick a piece of it out of my eyes. I'm tellin' ya... glitter.   HOWEVER- I saw the gorgeous  Glass Effect Shapeabilities die  in the  Butterfly Reflections, Ink  shop and knew that I wanted to try a fun technique with it.  After covering a cardstock panel with a sheet of double-sided Scor-Tape, I ran the die through my machine using the embossing platform and mat. I used tweezers to carefully pull up some of the Scor-Tape here and there and coated it with purple glitter. Then I went back and took off more tape and repeated the process with the turquoise glitter, then the green. The final coat of white glitter filled in all the edges and the remaining h

You Brighten My Day!

Hello again! Coralynn  here and I have another Lawn Fawn card just because I just can't get enough of these awesome little critters! I combined a few sets to create this cute scene for today's card.  First one is the Critters in the Burb's and used the tree from that set and I fussy cut it as I don't have the dies.  I coloured the tree with my copics and I paper pieced the top of the tree out of paper from the Sweather Weather 6x6 Lawn Fawn petite packs and popped it up to give the card more dimension.   Next are these sweet little snails and mushrooms which are from the Gleeful Gardens.  I coloured them in with my copics but added Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to the shells.  I also coloured all the other images mostly the same way as I just love how the red gives the card a pop of colour.  The lady bugs are from the Bugs & Kisses stamps and dies and I am partial to lady bugs.  To finish off all the images, I used glossy accents to give them so

Somebunny sends smiles

Hi all!  Happy Monday {ok, let's pretend it's possible.... ha!}!  For today's card, I used the MFT Somebunny stamp set .  Oh my, these are the cutest bunnies ever!  I colored her with Copics, then fussy cut her.  I also stamped the stitched clouds from the set onto the larger white layer.  I recently got my hands on the stitched rounded rectangle STAX so I used one of them on the polka dot DP.  Love the extra little touch the stitched lines add.  There are SO many sentiment choices with this set ~ makes it perfect for any occasion!  I adhered the bunny with two Kool Tak clear foam adhesive squares .   Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to check out the NEWEST additions to the store ! Hugs ~ Angel

Distress Inks on an A-Dork-Able Layout!

Hello! Well, Samantha here again, and I'm sharing a super layout that I LOOOOVE. It's honestly one of my favorite layouts ever! I LOVE how it came together! I used a TON of products from the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop , and had a blast making this! To start off, I used some distress inks and lots of water to create the water drippage for the background! It turned out SO FUN! And it's just perfect for the photo of my littlest Mann at the pool last summer! The Jubilee Awesome Mixed Bag from My Mind's Eye worked PERFECTLY to add embellishments around the photo and at the bottom, under the title! :) I also used lots of the wood buttons from Dear Lizzy to embellish my page - those are, hands down, MY FAVORITE embellishments at the moment! I used some thickers to create the large title, and some tiny type to add the smaller title! LOVE how the two fonts look together! Oh! And those wood sunburst shaped veneers you see all over the page are so FUN!

MFT Cute Critters Mini Card

Hello Everyone!!  Its Trish and I'm so excited to be back as a guest designer for the BRI Blog today! Today I decided to create a cute little mini card that I can place in my husbands lunch box.  He loves getting these random little cards every so often and it makes me happy to know that he likes and appreciates my work :) So I'm featuring the MFT Cute Critters Stamp Set  and Tag Builders Blueprint #3 Die-Namics .  You can check out the photos below. And I have a video showing you exactly how I created it!  Hope you guys enjoyed this card and have a fabulous Saturday!

Birthday Card

Today I'm sharing a fun and colorful card using some Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine paper .  I love this fun rainbow color print.  For the stamped parts of the card i use the Waffle Flower Crafts On My Mark stamp set . This is a really cute, fun set.  I also used the Dear Lizzy Serendipity Foil thickers . I keep finding myself going back to this set over and over.  After putting the card together at this point I liked it, but it was a little plain.  I decided to add the different colored sequins and I think this really made the card complete.  I hope you have enjoyed this quick card share. Thanks for stopping by!

Succulent Success

The latest Lawn Fawn release has been available in the shop for awhile now and if you haven't picked this adorable cactus/succulent stamp set- Stuck on You - you should. For a smaller sized stamp set, it packs plenty of images and sentiments into a small surface. For me, the possibility of being able to mix and match images is always a bonus.  Lawn Fawn papers, stamps, dies and inks all work together on this creation. I stamped the pot in Wild Rose ink , the succulent with Mint Julep (there's a touch of Mermaid on the tips), and sentiment in black ink all on white cardstock and matted it on patterned paper from the Let's Polka, Mon Amie 6x6 collection. That panel is popped up on the polka dot patterned paper with foam tape. I swiped Wild Rose ink over a scrap of white cardstock and die cut three hearts from it as accents. They're covered with Spica glitter marker for a sparkly finish.  Thanks for stopping in today and have a GREAT day! We are finally get

Happy Wishes!

Hello everyone! Coralynn here and I'm back with something a bit different.  A bookmark!  Just because the Otter from Lawn Fawn is just too adorable and I just had to use the new bookmark die from  Avery Elle . I cut out the bookmark twice from 110# card stock and glued them together for stability.  Then I used the Lawn Fawn  Year 5 stamp and die  set for the otter and  Gleeful Garden stamp and die  set for the little flower he's holding. I used my copics to colour in the otter and for the little flower.  I used distress ink for the clouds and applied it with an ink blending tool.  I cut the clouds out of acetate from the "Shy's the limit" dies and kept it for a stencil and it works great for this technique. For the waves, I used the Lawn Fawn scalloped borders dies and used the negative part for the waves and the patterned paper is from the Yours Truly  6x6 paper  pack.  Then I used the bookmark die to cut out the waves so they fit the car

"Thanks" Card

Hi, Joann here! Thanks for stopping by today! Today's card is featuring the My Mind's Eye Jubilee "Happy" Mixed Bag . The triangle and flower die cuts all came from this collection. I simply laid all my pieces out and arranged them until I was happy. I also used a SC Wood Veneer banner and stamped my sentiment on it and finished my card by adding a few random pearls. That's it...stop by the store and check out a few of the My Mind's Eye Mixed Bag collections to help you create a fabulous card! Thanks again for stopping by! Unforgettable

Hi all!  Angel here with a card using WPlus9 Unforgettable stamp set !  CUTE doesn't even begin to describe this set!  I stamped the image using MFT Hybrid Black Licorice ink  then watercolored it with distress markers, including the new abandoned coral .  I wanted him to be carried away by more than one balloon, so I just stamped it 3 times ;)  I used the smallest of the Stitched Scallop Edges die-namics with some metallic gold paper to add some shine and extra interest.  The main layer is popped up on foam adhesive. Thanks for stopping by!  Have a GREAT week! Hugs, Angel

Guest Designer Sunday with Amy Tsuruta

Hello, it's Amy of Tsuruta Designs !  I'm super thrilled to be guesting for Butterfly Reflections Ink for the month of March!  I've been a long time fan of the shop & Vanessa :)  Before I start chatting about my project for today, I thought I would tell you a bit about myself.  I've been happily blogging for over 7 years.  I feel so fortunate to be a  part of this blogging & Paper Crafting Community!  I'm the momma to two kids, my daughter will be 20 this month and my boy is a senior in high school.  I'm engaged to a very awesome guy that is crafty too!  He literally just finished building an airplane!  When he has logged in 40 hours of flight time, I'll be able to join in the fun!  I work part-time for a start up biotech company in Seattle.  Seriously, I just want to drink coffee and make pretty things! Paper Pieced Card featuring Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends! It's Jess and today I have a card featuring some of the adorable Lawn Fawn products now available in the shop. I started with the Let's Play stamps and dies . Since I had picked up the two new Pint Sized Patterns Collections I decided to do some paper piecing instead of coloring. You can check out my video below for more on how it came together. I used some of the older Lawn Fawn dies as well including Spring Showers and the Grassy Border die. I love how all the different Lawn Fawn products old and new coordinate perfectly. Head on over to the shop and pick up your favorites today!

Project Life February

Hi everyone, it's Shawna with you today.  Half way through February I got the brilliant idea that I would like to give PL another go. This is my third attempt mind you.  I don't really follow the weekly routine as my life is not that immensely interesting.  Let's just say I would have a lot of food pics and just photos of my daughter. My son, who is now a teen, rarely makes new photo appearances these days and my husband is the same way.  Anyway...Today's spread features the Dear Lizzy Serendipity 6x6 pad for the backgrounds.  Some other products you can find in the shop: Serendipity foil thickers Jubilee enamel stickers Pebbles epoxy hearts Pebbles epoxy stickers Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed a little peek into my Project Life.

Dance in the Rain

I'm using the February Mood Board as my inspiration today in hopes that it will make spring arrive faster!  I loved the sweet springy colours, that yellow pattern, and the rain boots from the picture, so I pulled out some supplies to try and incorporate all that into my creation. The card is pretty straightforward but I'll point out a few fun things. The clouds were inked with Blu Raspberry, Bubble Gum, and Lemon Yellow inks rather than using coloured cardstock. The raindrops are actually the little constellation stamps from Starry Night from Waffle Flower Crafts . Glossy Accents cover the drops and a Spica Clear glitter marker was used to cover the clouds.  If you're looking for fun cloud/weather products check out the cute package of die cuts here , a Cover-Up die here , a cloud stencil here , or these weather-themed dies . So fun!  Supplies from Butterfly Reflections, Ink :  Ink:   Black Licorice , Lemon Yellow , Blu Raspberry, Bubble Gum  P
