Everything Nice Holiday Card with the BRI Moodboard

Hello crafty friends! Are you still scrambling to make your holiday cards? Today I'm sharing a simple design that can be created quickly! (and when I say "quickly" I mean an hour or two hahaha! You know what I'm talkin' about!) I am using this month's BRI Moodboard for my color inspiration. Be sure to enter your creations for a chance to win $20 to the BRI store!  I used a mix of Mama Elephant and Concord & 9th products. The honeycomb quilt top die  has so many possibilities and I had fun figuring out how to arrange my Little Agenda images on the background. You can even use this design for other occasions-- just swap out the images! The gold from the moodboard was slipped in with my heat embossed sentiment. I like how the bit of black contrasts against the white background and colorful hexagons. Supplies used: Mama Elephant Little Penguin Agenda ( coordinating dies) Mama Elephant Little Snowman Agenda ( coordinating dies ) Mama Elephant Everything Nic...

Christmas Shaker Card with Mama Elephant

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a cute and simple holiday shaker card! This little card was pretty quick to put together and my favorite part of the card is the felt bow! Bows always make everything cuter! To make the shaker, I die cut several of the hexatag snowdrift frames and stacked them together. I prefer the cardstock stacking method for shaker frames because you can customize the depth of your shaker well this way. I ink blended a quick background on the solid hexagon piece and glued on the vellum trees. After gluing the shaker well onto the hexagon background, I used my powder tool to remove any stickiness and static. I added the shaker bits, acetate, and finally the top frame. Don't forget to stamp your sentiment on before assembling the shaker!  There is a snowflake on the reindeer's sign... if you squint you can see it😆! (In real life, you can definitely see it...) You can put all sorts of things in the signs. I think the Mama Elephant set Holiday Bitties...

Cute Holiday Penguins

Hi crafty friends! Christmas is almost here so these adorable Sunny Studio penguins are busy getting ready for the holidays!  The penguins under the mistletoe actually come from a non-holiday set but I thought they would be perfect for the little mistletoe scene. My favorite penguin is the little guy with antlers enjoying the warm mug of cocoa! These Sunny Studio penguins are just the cutest! After cutting out the pieces for the center picture window card, I made my own patterned paper with the snow stamp from the Lawn Fawn set Window Scene: Winter and Lawn Fawn kiddie pool ink. I went with a pink and aqua color theme-- very non-traditional holiday colors but I just love them together! I used some kitsch flamingo Distress oxide ink to add a bit of color to the inside panels and to stamp the sentiments.  Supplies used: Lawn Fawn Center Picture Window dies Lawn Fawn Center Picture Window Add On dies Sunny Studios Penguin Party  (coordinating dies available here )...

Oh So Merry (and cute) Kitty Tree!

Hello crafty friends! **Quick reminder: TODAY is the last day of the BLACK FRIDAY/CYBER MONDAY sale at BRI! 25% off most everything! So be sure to shop shop shop!** Today I'm sharing this simple card featuring the kitty tree from Mama Elephant! Who can resist a pile of cute critters? Mama Elephant has the cutest critter trees and you are sure to find one that you love! They started with the kitties 😸 and now they have puppies  🐶, penguins 🐧, gnomes 🍄, and the newest one has all the critters 😍! So you can definitely make a card with this same design but feature a different critter tree! For the background, I used the new magic snow cover die from Mama Elephant and ink blended it with distress oxides.  I colored the kitty tree with Copic markers and cut it out with the coordinating dies. Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment with some sparkly embossing powder and Versafine ink. Supplies used: Mama Elephant Oh Kitty Tree (and dies ) Mama Elephant Everything Nice...

Classic Christmas with a Touch of Cute!

Hello crafty friends! As the blog post title says, today's card embraces classic Christmas but with a touch of cute! Classic Christmas colors, check! Festive wreath, check! Classic Christmas plaid pattern, check! And a cute Lawn Fawn Christmas-y deer, check!!  I love mixing brands and using new products with older favorites! I saw the new Concord & 9th plaid turnabout stamp and love how it can be a versatile background for occasions beyond the holidays. I made the background with some classic Christmas colors-- red, green, black, and silver.  I heat embossed the silver but let me give you some tips if you heat emboss with this stamp!! (1) Make sure your background is COMPLETELY dry, especially if you use pigment inks or else the embossing powder will stick to it. (2) Don't forget to use a powder tool before you stamp with embossing ink! (3) Stamp with embossing ink/heat emboss on your last "turn." To create the wreath, I used 3 shades of green cardstock for ...

Merry Christmas Card by Sara Zoppi

Hi BRI friends, Merry Christmas everyone! Sara here! Today it’s my turn on the BRI blog and I’m here to show my inspiration for the December BRI Mood Board. This is a perfect palette for Winter cards, I really love those cold colors mixed with silver. But since today it’s THAT day, the most important of the Holiday Season, I wanted to create a Christmas card. And this is my inspiration! I must admit I recently saw a bokeh patterned paper that was my inspiration for this card. So I couldn’t resist to create my own version, using the colors of the Mood Board. I used blending brushes and Distress Oxide Inks in Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Pine Needles and Shabby Shutters. I applied a layer of colors, with a really soft hand.    I then used some nesting dies to create circles with masking paper and I applied a few, added another layer of color (image 1) and then I added other circles (image 2: some of them overlap). I repeated the process until I was happy with ...

Little Things This Season Card by Audrey Tokach

Hello friends!  Audrey here!  I am thrilled to be returning to the BRI team as guest designer for the month of December!  Today, I have my first card to share with you using the super adorable Merry Little Mice from Honey Bee Stamps!   To create my card, I started off with a piece of kraft cardstock cut to 4" x 5.25".  With a horizontal orientation, I used the Seasonal Winds stencil from Trinity Stamps with some white pigment ink to add a winter wind to the background.  I inked the edges with both white pigment ink and some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide .  Then, I stamped a few images from the Merry Little Mice stamp set , colored them with my Polychromos colored pencils, and fussy cut them with my scissors.  Before adding them to the panel with foam tape, I stamped each image on the panel so that the mice would have their tails, then used Grit Paste and Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter to add crunchy snow underneath the mice and snowman. ...

Season's Greetings Card by Sara Zoppi

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the November BRI Mood Board Challenge . This is a perfect palette for Fall cards and I really love those colors. But, since I am in a more “Christmas mood”, I challenged myself to create something different and use this color combo for a Christmas card…and this is the result!  I love those “Caroling Critters” from Pretty Pink Posh , they are so sweet! I stamped them on a piece of Lawn Fawn Fog cardstock , it’s a light cold grey perfect for my background and then I colored everything with copics. I also hand drew the street lamp on the right, I wanted a cozy scene. Since it is a light colored cardstock, the copic colors are really similar to “reality”, but in this way I didn’t have to add the sky. I only used a darker grey at the bottom, to create the contrast for the bushes. I used a white UNI POSCA pen to create the snow ground and I also added some white snow in the sky. The small snowflakes comes from the Pretty...

Fairy Happy Holiday

Hello crafty friends! It's Amanda from @CaveWitchCrafts ! I'm so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today with this fun holiday scene inspired by this month's #BRIMoodBoard. I tried to keep it "simple" LOL and only used two stamp sets from Lawn Fawn. Most of the images are from LF set Frosty Fairy Friends , but I also used set Ready, Set, Snow for the adorable snowmen.  I stamped images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink before coloring them and adding white gel pen highlights and LOTS of glitter pen accents. Using the largest die from the LF die set (retired) Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables , I cut out three panels on white cardstock. Each panel will create a different layer of the scene. The first panel will be ink with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide to create a blue sky. The second panel will be cut using LF Die Stitched Hillside Borders to create a snowy bank. The third panel will be stamped using the foliage from Frosty Fairy Friends s...

Fa La La Llama Christmas Card

Happy Monday, crafty friends! Now that it's November, I feel like I can officially start making Christmas cards! I absolutely loooove a good pun, and the first thing I thought of when I saw this Heffy Doodle Llamazing Llamas set (after thinking ahhh they are so cute!) was "I have to make cards with llama puns and these cute llamas!" I llove puns and llamas! (see what I did there? Somebody stop me...😂) I stamped out the llama and cactus images and colored with Copic markers (listed below). I did a little bit of masking to add the scarf to the llama. To create the Christmas cactus, I used stamps from Lawn Fawn's Furry and Bright and Joy to All . Since I altered the stamps, I fussy cut them out instead of using coordinating dies . I added a few white gel pen accents to the Christmas lights as well. The background was created with Distress Oxides ( tattered rose , dried marigold , abandoned coral ) and Mama Elephant's Kingdom Trio (mountains and ground inked and ...

Happy Holi-yay!

Hi there! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a sweet Christmas card that was inspired by the November Mood Board ! I used the same colors, but lightened them up a little! I couldn't help myself! I really love how this came out! I stamped all of the images from the Paperie Ink Happy Holi-yay and then colored them using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! then I fussy cut them out! I also added some details to the images with a white gel pen . Those bunnies are just adorable!  for the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Abandoned Coral and Dried Marigold . then I splattered some of the color and white acrylic ink on top to make it look snowy! I finished off the card by heat embossing the sentiment in white onto black cardstock . Be sure to grab your favorite goodies and play along with the November Mood Board! All of the details can be found here ! Samantha

Let There be Peas on Earth!

Hi friends!! Sophie here and today I'm sharing this fun pop-up box card that was inspired by another card I created a long time ago on my instagram here . I hope you like it! :)  I used the Lawn Fawn pop-up box dies and some fun music-themed pattern paper to create the box base. To make the snowy bank inserts I used white cardstock and the Lawn Fawn Theater Box Add-On .  For those cutie little peas I used images from the Peas on Earth stamp set  and colored them with copic markers - I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I stacked the peas to form sort of a Christmas tree shape - I love their little singing faces!!  I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope you have a wonderful holiday! :) See you next week!

And I can just imagine how happy those critters are, jumping for joy for this holiday season! I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out! Falala with Davina and the November Moodboard

Hello friends! Davina here with a quick blog post and sharing my last project of the month using the November BRI Moodboard. As we are so quickly speeding through the end of this crazy year I feel like I haven’t had as much time for Cardmaking and coloring as I normally would like. But I am so happy with how this winter card turned out using the cozy fall colors of the current color board.    I often feel like knowing what colors I need to use takes away a lot of the mental struggle of choosing a theme for me. It helps me focus and not get so easily distracted trying to make decisions. I wanted to use the super fun  Happy Little Tree Farm  die set from Trinity Stamps. It comes with tons of tree pieces to make a whole forest of wonky trees. There are so many ways to layer them and switch the pieces about. I cut all the dies from two pieces of scrap cardstock, in mint and moss green. Then I used Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough distress oxide inks to inkblend onto ...
