Stencil all the things!

Hello, again!  I recently ordered the Newton's Nook Tumbling Heart Stencil from Butterfly Reflections, Ink. and I am in LOVE, pun intended!  I want to stencil ALL THE THINGS.   For my first card this week, I used an oldie-but-goodie set:  Lawn Fawn's out of this world stamps  and coordinating dies .  I colored a rocket and some planets with Copic markers (available in the shop ) and added white gel pen details.  The rocket window also got a glossy accents coating. For the background, I blended distress oxide inks in broken china , mermaid lagoon and seedless preserves to create a galaxy effect.  I flicked on some Kuretake gold metallic paint  to create "stars."     Side note here ... does anyone else love peeling up purple tape ?  Seeing that crisp white border around my project just makes me so happy!  Ok, back to the project ... I used more purple tape to keep my stencil in place and to block ...

Out of This World, two ways! And a giveaway!!

Hello, fellow crafty people! It’s Monday and it is I, Erica, back on the BRI blog today. I’m still brimming with excitement about being on this fab DT, in case that wasn’t clear, lol!  I have two cards for you today, both these cards are made with the same stamp set: Out Of This World from Lawn Fawn . This is quite a traditionally ‘boyish’ stamp set but as girls can be anything they want (except for sperm donors really... ) I also made a girl astronaut card. Both my backgrounds are made with Gansai Tambi water colours , both the 36-pack and the Starry Colors pack for some gold shimmer splatters. The blue one I spread the water colours in stripes (and splattered lots of white paint on it )to see what it would look like and this one was originally meant for another project but I messed it up when I heat embossed some stars on it in gold. They were meant to go in a heart shape but that is not what it looked like when it was done. However, I couldn’t bring myself ...

I Love You to the Stars and Back!

Hello everyone, Coralynn here and I'm very excited to be back guest designing today.  I have a "just because" card but really can be anything you want by added another sentiment inside the card such as Happy Birthday or You did it. I started with the Lawn Fawn Out of this World stamp set with is simply adorable and I love how they have all the planets. I coloured in the planets, rocket and astronaut with copics and then cut them out with their dies. I then worked on the galaxy background. I took  distress inks and blended them on a piece of watercolour paper.  I used Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet and Squeezed Lemonade.  Once I had all the colours blended the way I thought would look good, because at this point it's just a hot mess.  I then sprayed some water drops and took paper towel to remove the water and leave the spots.  I then took some acrylic paint I had in my stash and added the splatter. I used the "I love you to ...

Out of This World Monday!

Happy Monday crafty friends! Kim With you this morning, can you believe it is already and at the same time finally April! My project today features the fantastic Out of this World stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn ! All of these products are available in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink shop ! I don't know about you but when a set is released that is perfect for masculine/boy cards I jump on it! I have 7 nephews and I find masculine cards daunting! So I had to have this one. I started by stamping all of my images using my Misti Stamp Tool to double stamp for crisp black images.  I Copic coloured my images and I googled actual pictures of the planets to give a realistic color palette.  I then pulled out all the border and background dies I wanted to use. I started by die cutting both navy cardstock and Neena Solar White (80 lbs) with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames . I then took the inside white piece and die cut it again using the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitch...

Out of this World!

Hello! I adore the new Lawn Fawn collection! You can find it HERE . Today I used the new Out of This World set  with coordinating dies . To create my card I started by stamping and die cutting the astronaut, planets and rocket ship. I had to color coordinate them all because in my pretend space world that is how it works. ;) Next, I die cut the white card stock background with Starry Skies  and Stitched Circle Frames  which created the half circle cut out at the bottom. Then I used a wet paint brush mixed with  Salty Ocean  Distress Ink to create the splatters in my space scene. I finished the card by embossing  the sentiment and adding a few embellishments.  I hope your day is out of this world! :) Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things - Out of This World

Hey folks! I'm back today to share a couple of quick cards with you all! I am over then moon (no pun intended) (no really) for the new My Favorite Things Out of This World Stamp Set ! For real peeps, it's soo much fun and what a great change from the "pretties" I've been working with so much lately. I stamped the Ship twice with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink , and colored one in with Pink and Teal Copic's and the other with Blue and Orange Copic's . I loved the idea that these Images could be used for a girl or a boy! Next, using the My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Circle Die , I die cut the centers out of two cardstock panels. Using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool , I blended Sno Cone , Blue Yonder , Blueberry , Boysenberry and Eggplant My Favorite Thing Hybrid Inks to make it look like a night sky. I mixed up a some Ranger Perfect Pearls and Ranger - Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Picket Fence and splattered it over both Circles. I used the...
