MFT Fluttering Hearts and Cool Cat!

Hello everyone, it is Nicky here with you again.  Today I am sharing a card that I made using MFT's new Die-Namics Fluttering Hearts Coverup .  The card started with two panels die cut in 100lb red card stock using the second largest die from Lawn Cuts Scalloped Rectangle Stackables .   I joined the two panels together having scored a fold line so that the card could flex and sit open.  I then die cut the fluttering hearts panel out of 110lb white card stock and teased open only the ones that you see opened (I found that they opened better for being scored down the center of each one).  Over the flat section I made a panel.  On the left of the panel I die cut into it a line of X's and O's from MFT's Die-Namics Blueprints #5 .  On the right hand side I stamped and watercolour painted  and die cut my favorite cat from MFT's Cool Cat .  Using an old off cut that had the stitched edge I stamped the sentiment.  The mini panel was mounted to the fluttering hearts panel

MFT Otters!!!

Happy Monday all! Kim here with you this morning featuring the wonderful MFT Otters ! I love otters, I keep telling my husband that if we lived in a warmer climate I would want one in the pool all year long! No can do in Montreal... This one will double as a Valentine's Day card for one of my best friends, who loves otters too :) This guy below was my inspiration from a Google search: Look at that dude! Lol For my card I started with a Neena Solar White card base and embossed it with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix embossing folder. I then die cut my frames (Poppy Scribble Trio Frames) out of Kraft and Neena. The Kraft for the actual frame and the Neena to stamp my otters.  I Copic coloured my otters and tried to get the same colours as my inspiration photo ( E42, E43, E44 and E47 for the body, E30, E31 for the nose surround and R22, R46, R37 and R59 for the heart ). I made my own waves using B00, B02 and B04) I then used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky. I put

Lumberjack Love

Hey friends! It's Christy here. You know that old saying, "great minds think alike?" Well, I had to smile when I saw  Mayra's post from Thursday  and her absolutely stunning projects using the  Neat & Tangled Lumberjack Love stamps  and  dies , because I already had these guys colored up and sitting on my desk for today's card! I thought about trying to come up with a new idea, and even pulled out a few different stamp sets and supplies, but nothing seemed to click, so I thought, what the heck, why not just show how versatile these stamps can be! With all the various coloring choices of markers, and mediums, and techniques, you're practically guaranteed to get a different look every time. I set the scene for these guys by stamping  Newton's Nook Whispering Pines  with Lawn Fawn's Freshly Cut Grass  and  Noble Fir  inks, utilizing not only the tree cluster image, but also the two single trees included in this set for a nice variety of heig

Otterly Great Birthday

Hi Everyone! Happy Saturday! I love animals, I love animal stamps and I love Otterly Love You  stamp set from My Favorite Things.  Today's card was inspired by my local zoo. They have big circle windows you can peek through to view the adorable otters swimming around like crazy.  To create my card I started by stamping, die cutting and coloring two of the otters from the set. I love that this set has so many otters to chose from! Next I repeated the process with rocks and fish.  The window was die cut from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Circle Frames . Finally, I embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and adhered the card together. I can't wait to give this card to a teacher at my kids' school. Our mascot is the otter so it will be perfect! Thanks for joining me today!

Completely Wild About You

Hey friends, it's Christy here with a super cute card featuring a brand new line in the BRI shop: Reverse Confetti ! I fell in love with these sweet giraffe's from Lift Me Up and just had to make a card with them as soon as I got them in my hands! These cuties are completely customizable! The polkadots make them so fun and festive and you can color them to match your patterned paper, as I did here, or you can color them more realistically if you prefer. I vote for fun! ;) This Simple Stories Posh 6x6 is sadly out of stock at the moment, but Vanessa carries so many gorgeous paper pads in her shop that you're sure to find one or two (or five!) that you can't live without. I know I always do. I colored my images with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die and Grassy Border die to create a focal panel for them to stand on and borrowed a sentiment from  WPlus9's Party Animal  stamped in Lawn Fawn Deep Sea ink . I used a sketch I found o

I'm Quite Fawned Of You ....

Happy Thursday everyone !! Mayra here with today's post . For today's projects I created a card and mini Valentine's set using the sweet Neat & Tangled Lumberjack Love stamp set . I combined this set with the beautiful Floral Heart stamp set also by Neat & Tangled  .  There are also dies for these sets , the Floral Hearts die    and the Lumberjack Love dies .   I die cut my white cardstock using  My Favorite Things Die-Namics Stitched Rectangles STAX  .  Then,    I stamped out the images using   Memento Tuxedo black ink  . I used Copic markers to color my images in . For the sentiment on the card I heat embossed using Versamark ink and white embossing powder .  I then layered a die cut scalloped base from Neat & Tangled Scalloped Dies  set .  I also repeated these steps for the mini Valentine cards ,  just using a smaller size of each of the dies.  I colored two of them in and stamped the sentiment from the   Floral Heart  se

Many Many Hugs

Hey there! Its Rebekah here today! I consider every card I send a paper hug so when I saw this  Big Hugs Die by My Favorite Things  I knew it was something I needed to add to my collection. Rather then only use this as a die, I chose to emboss it into my card panel. For this technique you will need an embossing pad or a mouse pad. You may need to play around a bit with the layers of your cutting platforms but once you have it figured out its as easy as lining up the die and running it through the cutter. Because you are using the foam padding the die will not cut. It only leaves the impression of the die. And, wow! I love the look when distress in is added. For this card I used  Picked Raspberry  and  Festive Berries  and  Clarity Stencil Brushes  for application. These brushes are amazing and can be used for a soft, light layer of color or for a more intense color with perfect blending every time! When I did the embossing I made sure I had one 'HUGS' embossing

MOUSE MAIL from REVERSE CONFETTI

Hello crafty friends, Nicky here with you today on the blog with a new stamp set by Reverse Confetti called Mouse Mail .  Did you hear already that Butterfly Reflections Ink is now selling Reverse Confetti Products?   Check them out under Newest Products because they are totally adorable! For this card I repeatedly stamped my card panel with the sentiment 'sending smiles across the miles' in pale grey.  I then watercolour painted a grass strip with Distress Ink  in Twisted Citron and then die cut it using the Grassy Hillside Borders by Lawn Fawn.  Next I stamped the two mice and the letterbox with Archival Ink  and then watercolor painted them delicately using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers  and a Watercolor Brush Pen . Have you discovered the Uni-Ball Signo yet?  I'm addicted to this wonderful white pen.  It can really take your projects to the next level just through some simple highlighting with it.  Decide where your light source is coming fr

Avery Elle Butterflies

Happy Monday, Kim with you today!  Have you seen all the fabulous sneaks from CHA? Oh my, I spent the weekend wishing I had been there!  I can't wait for all the launches :) My project today features the beautiful Avery Elle Butterflies! I love butterflies but this set... oh my! I cut my base panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stiches Rectangle  from some Lawn Fawn Guava Cardstock  (Oh this color, I just love it).  I used my Misti to stamp my butterflies with VersaMark Ink  and used gold embossing powder on them.  I really like the way they turned out!  I then die cut the Neat and Tangled "awesome," awesome die from both black cardstock (background) and gold foil paper for the top.  The "You Are" is from the Love Puffin stamp set also by Avery Elle and I stamped and embossed that in the same gold as the butterflies. I love being able to use stamp sets in different ways :) I put the top panel together and added some dots with my white and gold gel

Hello With Greeting Farm Fairies .....

Happy Sunday everyone !! Mayra here with today's post .  I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend !!  Who is excited about CHA ?! I can only imagine the goodies Vanessa will find !!  Yes... I am super excited !!!  Okay ,lol ..unto today's post .  I used the super pretty Greeting Farm's Little Fairies stamp set .   For this card I went with no line Copic coloring . I adore the images in this set ...as you can imagine I had fun coloring these.   I die cut my white cardstock using My Favorite Things Die-Namics Stitched Rectangles STAX . Then,    I stamped out the images using a light colored ink ...for example  My Favorite Things Hybrid ink in Biscotti   . I then layered a die cut scalloped base from  Neat & Tangled Scalloped Dies set . The banner is from this set as well .  I also added a touch of Red Barn Distress ink to the bottom half of the banner .  The sentiment is stamped using Memento Tuxedo black ink  .  Wishing yo

You are My Favorite

Happy Saturday! I've been glued to social media for the last few days, eagerly watching all of the new products being shown at CHA. It's really a great time of year for crafting. They energy and anticipation of innovation always inspires me.  Today I'm featuring Neat & Tangled's new set My Favorite Nut . These critters are amazing, right? To start my card I stamped  and die cut the squirrels. I have three kids so they are all represented on this card. :) Next, I decided to make a window on the card using Avery Elle's Double Pierced Rectangles . I blended Distress Ink  behind the window and also at the bottom of my card. I placed all my squirrels, adding branches and a cute envelope and heart to complete my scene. The card was finished with one of the great sentiments from   My Favorite Nut . It's time for me to get back to dreaming of all of the amazing new products that will flood the craft industry in the months ahead. What'

I'm Owl Yours

Hello friends, Christy here! Happy Friday! While Vanessa is away at CHA shopping for fabulous new goodies for the store, I'm popping in here to share a card. This sweet  I'm Owl Yours set by My Favorite Things  is chock full of adorable owls and punny sentiments that work for all sorts of occasions.  I colored these two cuties in with Copic markers to match my Simple Stories Love & Adore 6x6 patterned paper and die cut them out with the matching dies . I watercolored a background using Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock and Spun Sugar Distress Ink and added a couple clouds from  Lawn Fawn's Spring Showers  to complete my scene. I also did some fun stamping on the inside, which you can check out in the video. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Waving Hello With Lawn Fawn .....

Happy Thursday everyone !! Mayra here with today's post .  I am loving fairies and mermaids at the moment ... <3 as you will see with my upcoming cards .  For today's card I used the Lawn Fawn  Mermaid For You stamp set .  I began by die cutting two pieces of cardstock using  My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Rectangle dies  .  For one of the die cut pieces I used water color paper .   I knew I would be doing a bit of water color for the background . I used Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire ( other alternative can be Memento Luxe Nautical Blue )   Cracked Pistachio , and Peacock Feathers .  For the touches of gold I used Gansai Tambi in Bluish Gold .   As my water colored piece dried I colored in the images I would be using .  Then I die cut the scalloped base and banner from the  Neat and Tangled Scalloped Dies set  .    I then heat embossed the sentiment onto my die cut banner using  Versamark ink  and  white embossing powder  .

Hearts and Hugs

Hey there, friends! Its Rebekah here sharing a card I made using the  Flicker Heart Die  from Memory Box and the  Avery Elle Simply Said Love Die ! For this card, I used the die over an entire card panel, shifting it slightly each time before I ran it threw my die cutter. I saved all of the heart die cuts because I used them a little later on in my process. I used foam tape to pop up the panel and I mounted it on a piece of Kraft cardstock. I then colored a few of the hearts with a marker. I placed them inside the heart panel here and there. The  Avery Elle Hugs Die  comes with the background for the word 'hugs' and I cut it three times from white cardstock and glued them together. I also cut it once with red cardstock and adhered it using  Multi Matte Medium , sifting it a little to the side so it could slightly be seen behind the white cardstock. For the word 'hugs' itself, I cut it from black cardstock and black craft foam and glued them together. I highly

I KNEAD YOU by MY FAVORITE THINGS

Hello everybody, Nicky here with you today to share a card made with products from My Favorite Things  with a Valentine's Day theme. I have used the super adorable I Knead You  stamp set.  I selected this snoozing cat.  I stamped, die cut and watercolor painted the cat and the little perch it is on.   I then took the card panel and die cut it using the  Stitched Triple Peek-a-boo Die    I love this die and I have so many plans for it in the future, I think it is a really good one to add to your die stash!  I saw the circles it creates and decided they could be dream bubbles.  My cat is dreaming of fish, mice and balls of yarn - all the things that she loves.  I repeat stamped and delicately watercolor painted all of these onto the 3 die cut circles. I popped the stitched panel up with dimensional foam tape and recessed the dream bubbles and then applied my cat on her perch also with the foam tape.   The little bubbles drifting up from her were hand drawn and then

Winter colors with Altenew!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning and I am sharing a thank you card featuring Altenew! I don't know about you, but when January and February are around I need flowers! I rarely use blues and purples, but I felt the choices were fitting for a winter thank you.  I started with Bristol cardstock because I wanted to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . I cut the base panel with Avery Elle Wonky Stiches Rectangle die  - this is one of my favorite dies for base panels.  I lined up my stamps from Altenew's Beautiful Day  to make sure I liked the placement before stamping the leaves, and small flowers in the background.  I stamped them using my Misti Stamp Tool  with VersaMark Ink  and then Silver embossed my images.  I then stamped my largest flower on another piece of Bristol also using VersaMark and silver embossing powder to cut it out and pop it up using foam tape. I usually just use my Zig markers and blend them together, but I wanted a lighter watercolo

Who Doesn't Love Happy Mail?!?!?!

Hi, there! It's Rebekah here today sharing a card I made using  Lawn Fawns Happy Mail Lawn Cuts. It may sound a bit strange but I have always had a thing for mailboxes.. I have an antique French mailbox I plan to hang inside my house as soon as I find the perfect spot for it! Maybe its the anticipation of happy mail that makes me love them, I don't know. But that is why I when I saw this mailbox die I knew I had to have it! This die is super cool, too! Its easy to put together...actually, all that is required is a few folds. It is perfect for filling with lots and lots of happy 'mail'! I used the Lawn Fawn  Happy Mail Lawn Cuts  and stuffed it full of letters stamped and die cut from the  Love Letters  stamp set and  Love Letters Dies .  I also couldn't resist having that little bird popping out of the mailbox! I also added a few letters at the bottom of the scene! I created the scene inside the  Wonky Windows  die from My Favorite Things. I also use

Sending Smiles

Hi Everyone! Ashley here sharing a super fun stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Love Letters . There are so many ways to use this cute set! I decided to the two birds in this set needed a little face time. :)  I started the card by stamping the two birds and coloring them with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies from the set to cut them out. Next I stamped the cell phone from the set. The birds are stamped again in each other's cell phones. Aren't they cute?  To create the colorful mountains I started by die cutting them out using the Stitched Mountain Borders  from Lawn Fawn. I blended Distress Ink to color the mountains. I used Twisted Citron , Peacock Feathers  and Seedless Preserves . To create the fun dotted window opening I used Avery Elle's Rectangles Dies  and finished my card with the stamped sentiment. I love this fun stamp set and can't wait to create more!

So of course, I had to feature one of those things on my very first design team project! The recently released  My Favorite Nut set by Neat & Tangled  just captured my heart, as I'm sure it did for many of you. This set is chock full of adorable squirrels and squirrel-y accessories and super cute sentiments! I paired it with the lovely  Floral Heart stamp  and watercolored everything with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens . Then I die cut just the inside portion of the heart with the  matching dies  to create a window. To frame up my focal panel I us

Believe In Magic.....

Happy Thursday everyone ! Mayra here with my first post as a design team member !! Woo~Hoo I am so happy and excited to be part of this wonderful team ! For my card today I used the pretty fairies from The Greeting Farm's Little Fairies   stamp set .   I began by die cutting two pieces of white cardstock using the  MFT Die-Namics STAX  stitched rectangle dies .  I used Distress Inks in Wilted Violet  , Seedless Preserves  and Worn Lipstick    to create the background for my card   .  I then cut out a circle on what would be the first layer of the card .   I stamped out my images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink  .  I then colored them using my Copic markers.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the set using VersaMark ink and White Satin embossing powder . I glued everything together and my card was done ! I loved coloring these images in and creating the background ! I hope you enjoy and feel inspired to create . Thank you so much for stopping by .

Warm Wishes, New Friends!

Hello! Rebekah here with my first post to the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog! I live in Western Pennsylvania and we have been blessed with a mild winter so far.  Although, I am sure cold winds and lots of snow are just around the corner. I created this card with that in mind. The image on this card is by  Little Darlings called Winter-Cuppa . I just love it! Not only is that little girl and polar bear absolutely adorable but the image is huge! It just about fills up an entire A2 card. I used  Stitched Cloud Edge Dies  above the image which I think adds a nice decorative touch. I used  Blueprints 29 by My Favorite Things  and  Blueprints 25 also by My Favorite Things  to create the layered mats on this card. These die sets are by far my most used items in my crafting stash! I use them on almost every card. But of course I could not leave it at that!  I also used the  Flicker Heart  to add even more detail behind the image, which is colored with copic markers, by the wa
