BIG Hugs...

Hi, hello!  Norine from The Velvet Lemon , here with you today!  I recently received a rather large order from the Butterfly Reflections store , and let me just say....it's going to be florals, florals, florals for the next little while!  (The words florals and happy are interchangeable in my vocabulary!) I love this technique of "hiding" the die cut word in the colored design.  It's harder to see and appreciate straight on in a photo, but the tactile aspect in real life is so cool!  I used the two gorgeous floral stamps in the Altenew Forever and Always stamp set (couldn't choose between, so...), along with sentiments from MFT - Lots of Hugs (Sending Handmade) , and Lawn Fawn - Happy Happy Happy (To You) to accompany the die cut word, also from MFT ! For this first card, I wanted a plainer effect, where only the letters stand out, (literally and figuratively, as it turns out) so I left the background plain as oatmeal, and just randomly co...

Mother's Day Dahlias

Good morning!   Jess  here with a cheery watercolored Mother's Day card using the new Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia stamp from WPlus9 and Mom+Me sentiments from Lawn Fawn! I started off by using my Mini Misti to stamp the Dahlia Bouquet twice on a piece of watercolor paper with versamark .  I offset it both times and used a larger section of the stamp for one side to give it more visual interest.  I heat-embossed it with Gold Tinsel embossing glitter and then it was time to color!  I used six Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush to color the flowers.  The larger flower is colored with Carmine Red and the smaller flowers are colored with a mix of Carmine Red and Dark Pink.  The larger leaves are colored with Green, the smaller leaves with May Green, and the background with very watered down Cobalt Blue.  For the leaves and flowers, I added pigment to the paper and blended it out with a waterbrush .  For the background I ...

Grateful!!

Hello BRI Fans!! Piali here, I'm back with few cards! I'm soooo loving all the fabulous new goodies in Butterfly Reflections, Ink store . I like to follow latest trends and I have been enjoying all beautiful water colored creations all over the blogland.  I was not sure if I have the skills for it....... but finally I got myself some ZIG Clean Color Brush markers and today I played with them. I have to admit that I had so much fun....its really very easy to use the ZIG Clean Color Brush markers .  I hope you all like the cards as much as I do!!  I used the new Altenew Wild Hibiscus stamp set for all these cards. As a first timer..I played safe , just heat embossed the floral image using WOW opaque white EP. Then I simply colored the blooms with ZIG markers and water brush. For the sentiment I combined a stamp from the same Altenew set and THIS Wplus9 set. The patterned paper is from Avery Elle.  For the next card I picked the b...

Sweet Tidings - Sharna W.

Hello it's Sharna ! I have two cards for you today. I already shared one on instagram but I thought I would share again with some more details!   This first card is the new one. I've had this stamp set from Lawn Fawn for a while now and I just never used it. No idea why! Don't know how many of you are playing along with the 30 day color challenge but if you aren't you should give it a try! I find I can give many stamps that have been collecting dust a chance for some action. Today both my cards came from playing with coloring. This card was an experiment with distress ink coloring. I got a new water brush so of course I had to take it for a spin. The background is made with some simple heat embossing of the hearts in this set and some ink smooshing. That' s basically taking your ink, putting it on a block, spraying it and smooshing it to your paper. Its a lot of fun and super easy! I used Picked Raspberries for the background and the milk carton. The cookies ...
