Official Design Team!!!

WOW!!! Narrowing down the Design Team applications was SO much harder than I thought. I had 56 applicants total which is far more than I honestly thought I'd get. I had made an executive decision (haha) to pick 5 DT girls instead of the 3 I originally intended to. Then when it came down to it, I just couldn't get it to 5 so ended up with 6 fabulous, talented ladies and with Shawna being the DT Coordinator, that brings us to LUCKY #7! WHOOT!!! Please, please, PLEASE know how much ALL the applications meant to me and if I could "afford" to have 20 DT girls, I would. I cannot say enough about how grateful and appreciative I am to have had so many wonderful applicants so THANK YOU again. If you weren't picked, I sincerely hope you know how difficult it was for me to choose. Keep in mind that this term runs through June and I will be doing some Guest DT spots as well so there will be more opportunities and hopefully I'll be able to include some more people that

Weekend Card Sketch

Hi everyone! It's Shawna again.  Today I have a card sketch for you to play along with. I kept it pretty simple but you can change it up to suit your needs. I just hope it gets your creative juices flowing!  If that doesn't get you going how about the incredibly adorable Spectrum stamp set from Paper Smooches??? I adore it!  Take a peek at the entire set here.   If you are like me, you will want the dies too. Here is the card I came up with using the sketch provided.  You can see it uses the same general design but with some added touches.  Instead of hearts, try whatever else your little heart desires... like unicorns and rainbows! I do enjoy a little dimension on my cards so here is a peek at another angle for you. I hope you have enjoyed this little card share. Thanks for stopping by and we would love to see your creation if you decide to play with the sketch! An InLinkz Link-up

The Process

Hi, everyone! It is Shawna posting today with a new layout share.  I thought I would talk a little bit about my process as I share today.  Everyone's process is a little different and it is fun to see how they differ.  I won't go into intricate details but I hope you enjoy what I do share and take some inspiration from my layout. When I start a layout, I of course pick out the photo first, followed by my patterned paper choices. I am one who likes to make sure the photo matches the papers in some form.  I think most of us are.  I am using the 6x6 paper pad from Dear Lizzy Daydreamer ( here ). I like how the blue coordinated well with my daughters shirt even if its a couple shades off. It still works.  After my papers, I pull some embellishments. I only pull a few coordinating items so I have a small supply to go off of. I can add more later.  For this layout I pulled some Pink Paislee alphas, Daydreamer Puffy Heart Stickers (not pictured),  Wood Buttons,   My Mind'
