Aloha!

Hello crafty friends, it's Veronica here! Today I have a CAS card to share with you. I'm so in love with these dancing friends by Avery Elle that I couldn't wait making a card with them. They're perfect for summer cards!  Firstly, I stamped my critters in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of Transotype paper, colored them with my Copic Ciao Markers and fussy cut them. Yeah, this is my standard procedure xD.. Then, I trimmed another panel of Transotype paper to hand draw a Tiki Bar and make the background out of it. I also hand drew a frame to give a more finished look to the card. I finally glued my panel onto a black card stock and added some details with my white Jelly Roll pen and a sentiment form the same stamp set.  Hope you like it! From Italy with love, Veronica

Birthday fishes!

Hello crafty friends, it's Veronica here! Have you left for your holidays yet? As I'm waiting august to finally go to the seaside, I'm making some summer cards and I thought these cute fishes by Studio Katia would be perfect! To create my card, I first stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of Transotype paper, colored them with my Copic Ciao markers and fussy cut them.   For the background I smooshed some Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Ink, plus I splattered some drops of Blueprint Sketch on a piece of watercolor paper. They're difficult to spot, but I also added some drops of Glossy Accents . I die cut a rectangular panel from a white card stock and I created an oval window in the middle. I layered all the pieces with some foam to give dimension and I finished off my card with a black card stock base. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white powder. Hope you like it! From Italy wi...

Happy jungle!

Hello crafty friends! It's Veronica here and today I'm showing you a new card inspired by the mood board of this month. Yeah, I know, there's not much of coral but I guess it can work anyway and I really hope you will join the challenge too! So here it is my tropical card! I first stamped a bunch of cute jungle critters from Word Buddies Jungle Stamp Set by Hello Bluebird on a piece of Transotype paper, colored everything with my Copic Ciao Markers and then fuzzy cut all the images. I also die cut the beautiful Gallery Frame from a white card stock. To create my background I simply blended some Distress Oxide Inks in Chipped Sapphire , Pine Needles and Squeezed Lemonade , just to stick with the mood board colors. I assembled everything with some foam to give dimension and, to conclude, I glued my panel onto a piece of white card stock. Hope you like my card and see you next week! From Italy with love, Veronica

Big Birthday Wishes Slimline

Hey everyone, it's Julianne here and I'm back today sharing how I created this slimline birthday card featuring a bunch of products from My Favorite Things . I can't get enough of these adorable cake and cupcake images from the All the Cupcakes stamp set as well as the Birthdays Take the Cake stamp set. These stamp sets were released during different releases but I thought they matched perfectly together.  I started out by using the Big Birthday Wishes Die-namics set to die cut my background panel before I started working on creating my scene. I did my die cutting before I started creating my scene that way I knew how much room I had to play with in order to stamp all the cupcakes, cakes and my sentiment that I wanted to use.  For all of my stamping today I used memento tuxedo black ink and did my stamping on Xpress It Blending cardstock so that I could do some copic coloring. Since I did create a scene today for my card, the first step was to decide which images I wante...

Slimline Citrus

Hey everyone, it's Julianne here back with a slimline card featuring a newer stamp set by My Favorite Things, Main Squeeze ! I have been wanting a citrus related stamp set but nothing was just right until MFT came out with this stamp set. So I grabbed it up as soon as it came out and finally decided to make these two cards to share with you. I started out my stamping all of the main squeeze images onto some Bristol Smooth Watercolor paper since I planned on using my Karin Brushmarker Pros today. I stamped them all with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder. For my water coloring today I used the following colors: Canary, Gold, Apple and Grass. I decided to color in all of my images in yellow to be lemons but you could definitely do them as orange or limes. Once I had them all colored in I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out by running them thru my die cutting machine. While die cutting I ran some more of that Bris...

Some Bunny Loves You - VIDEO - Avery Elle Watercoloring

Hello there! Ashlea here and I'm excited to give you a little holiday break and show you some adorable new Avery Elle. I can't get enough of this mini Some Bunny set and think it would be great for birthdays and baby showers as well. Theres also coordinating dies available and I love the fact that a smaller set  can give you so many options! I decided to pull out my Inktense pencils for this card and I had such a great time using them! Here's a video showing the steps I took: I also love that by changing the color of the balloon you can easily make a masculine/boy birthday or baby shower card.  The fun thing about Inktense pencils is that it's simple and quick. There is a bit of a learning curve, but there's no mixing required and if you use these water pens , you won't even need cups of water. I'm a little clumsy and tend to spill EVERYTHING, so this is good news for me! I also plan to make a shaker card using this set with the...

Hey, Buttercup - Simple Honey Bee Stamps

Hey there, inkers! Ashlea here, and I'm back with this super simple yet striking Honey Bee stamps card using their Chin Up Buttercup stamp set . I absolutely love the images in this set and the large sentiments are the icing on the cake. Obviously, there isn't too much to this card. I started with a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" 110lb card stock and stamped my sentiment onto the bottom portion of it with Versafine Onyx Black ink . On a separate piece of card stock, I stamped my buttercup image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink because it is a Copic safe ink, meaning that the alcohol in the Copic markers won't make the ink run.  I colored in the buttercup image using Copic markers and fussy cut that out. Before I continued with the assembly of my card front, I used black watercolor to splatter some color onto my card front. I then stamped one of the leaf images directly onto the card front and colored that in with Copic markers as well. Using foam tape, I...

Quick & Simple Bulk Card Panels - VIDEO - with Concord and 9th

Hey friends! It's Ashlea here, and I'm back with more festive fun for your crafting pleasure. Today, I'm featuring the Happy Plaid stamp set from Concord and 9th . This stamp set is especially versatile because you can add or omit steps and change up ink colors or card stock to really make each card your own and individual. I created a video to show how easy it was using my MISTI . It's one of those bulk card deals where you can just turn off your brain and go and the result is beautiful! The video is linked here: The only pattern I had planned out ahead of time was the red card stock with all black plaid. I love buffalo plaid and while this isn't exactly buffalo plaid, the colors are reminiscent and remind be of a cozy blanket. For the blue card, I decided to omit the second single patterned line stamp to create a more open and simple plaid pattern. I used Something Borrowed ink by Catherine Pooler and used silver embossing powder on the d...

Inlaid Die Cut Card - VIDEO - Pinkfresh Studios

Helllllo, crafty people! This week has been an especially cuddle worthy week here in the Northeast. I don't know about where you are, but we're already seeing our second snowfall tonight. It's definitely putting me in the mood for warm winter hugs and what better way to express that than with the Happy Hugs stamp set by Pinkfresh Studios ? I added to the design of this card a bit by using an inlaid die cutting/inlaid dimension technique. Check out my video here: First, I stamped the bears image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Copic markers (List Below). Next, I stamped the background sky image with Suede Shoes by Catherine Pooler onto a piece of 110lb white card stock. To do the inlaid die cutting, I needed to die cut not only my image using the coordinating die , but also the card front and the craft foam so that they were in the same exact spot on both. This way it created a well of sorts where I adhered image. Copic Colors Used: ...

Bountiful Branches - Altenew

Hey everyone! It's Ashlea, and I'm really excited to be sharing this card I created using the Bountiful Branches layering stamp set by Altenew. If you're familiar with Altenew, you know their layering sets are always swoon-worthy and this set is no exception. I absolutely love the detail on these branches. The looks as if they were drawn right on my card front by an artist. I love seeing these images come together as I'm stamping and seeing the final product. I'm always so surprised that I just created that! Let's get into some details of the card. To begin, I used Catherine Pooler's It's A Boy ink to ink blend my entire 4" x 5 1/4" card front. I love the light blue color and thought it would lend itself really well to a cheery, holiday branch Christmas card. Because the blue is so light, I was able to begins stamping right on top of the ink blend. Let me warn you now, this layering set is not for the faint of heart. For the leav...

One Stamp Two Ways with Avery Elle

Hello there! Ashlea here and today I've got a couple of different techniques to use with the same stamp set. Every now and again, a stamp set so simple and so genius comes along and you just have to have it. That's this Avery Elle Starry Scene stamp and die set . Let me be totally honest for a moment here, I didn't get the dies. I thought, I don't really need them, they're just simple shapes. I was wrong. They would really have made my life so much simpler. They even have the little stars so that you can cut them directly out of card stock rather than stamping them. Don't be silly like me.  My first photo with the mountain is the more traditional way I decided to use the stamps. I love when stamp sets seem to come with multiple technique ideas. I know for myself, I'm much more apt to purchase a stamp set when I can think of multiple ways to use it. For my mountain card, I decided to use a more traditional technique. Basically I just sta...

Peek-a-boo dogs with MFT Stamps

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by the BRI blog today, it’s my turn today and I have two rather pawsome cards, if I may say so myself. It’s no secret that I am a certified crazy dog lady. I would have a whole house full if I could, seriously! Colouring dog stamps is about as close as I’m gonna get to have more than my two little fur babies in the house though and I do tend to go to town with the coloring, putting the images aside and then use them later. For today’s cards I skipped the ‘putting them aside’ step and went ahead and made two cards right away. High five anyone? The sets I have used for the dogs are called ‘ You make my tail wag ’(this one is on sale too!!) and the coordinating dienamics (this is an affiliate link of mine as BRI does not have these in the shop) and ‘ Lucky dog ’and the coordinating dienamics  (These are also affiliate links of mine so if you use these I get a small commission from MFT Stamps directly as no extra cost to you) As ...

Perfect Peacock Pair

Hello crafters! Ali here from alilovescardmaking ( instagram /youtube) with two cards in one of my favorite colour combinations: purple and green (well, turquoise really). I always think of Peacocks when these colours combine....is that the same for anyone else? I have used the fabulous Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Die to create a stencil and produced these pair of bright and striking cards. I used some heavy weight card to create the stencil - this is because it does become quite saturated with ink if you are making a few cards at the same time, and the 'gaps' between the leaves can get delicate and tear if your paper is thin (trust me I know this from experience!!) you will need to cut and 'turn' the die 4 times - I just turned my paper 90 degrees after each cut and then used my eye to line the die up again (hint: turn the paper over and check from the back that your cut lines are not ;overlapping' with your last cut - I learned this f...

Out of This World, two ways! And a giveaway!!

Hello, fellow crafty people! It’s Monday and it is I, Erica, back on the BRI blog today. I’m still brimming with excitement about being on this fab DT, in case that wasn’t clear, lol!  I have two cards for you today, both these cards are made with the same stamp set: Out Of This World from Lawn Fawn . This is quite a traditionally ‘boyish’ stamp set but as girls can be anything they want (except for sperm donors really... ) I also made a girl astronaut card. Both my backgrounds are made with Gansai Tambi water colours , both the 36-pack and the Starry Colors pack for some gold shimmer splatters. The blue one I spread the water colours in stripes (and splattered lots of white paint on it )to see what it would look like and this one was originally meant for another project but I messed it up when I heat embossed some stars on it in gold. They were meant to go in a heart shape but that is not what it looked like when it was done. However, I couldn’t bring myself ...
