Watercolored Piggies at the Beach

Hi there!  It's Andrea with you today, and I'm so delighted to be guest-designing on the BRI blog! Slimline cards are wildly popular on social media, and I couldn't resist making one with those cute piggies from Hello Bluebird's Beach Babes set.  The card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2", which lets you use alot of images on one card without it being overcrowded.  Another bonus is that with one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock you can create both your cardbase and front panel.  Score! I stamped all of the images with Versafine Onyx Black ink and watercolored them with my Zigs.  Once they were dry, I cut them out with my scissors (Coordinating dies are available, however). To create my background, I first masked off the horizon line with postit tape.  With MFT's Drifts & Hills Stencil in place, I inked up the water with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.  I used Neat & Tangled's Rice Paddies stencil with the same ink to create ...

Hooray

Hello friend! Gladys here and today I'm sharing this sweet birthday card.     For this card I used the Moose and Friends stamp set from Hello Bluebird. This set is full of cute critters and accessories to create the perfect party theme cards. We're going to celebrate Mr. Moose's birthday and have a couple of his friends join him on this special occasion. To frame my scene I cut white card stock using hug it out  and then I decided to cut it out of craft card stock as well. For added interest I used stitched woodgrain backdrop on the craft card stock. On the white card stock I created the background using cloud and grassy edges  stencils. I used distress oxide in broken china for the clouds and mowed lawn for the grass. All the images were colored with copic markers and cut out using it's coordinating dies . I arranged all the images as shown using foam tape for dimension. M...

Up Up and Away

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting for Butterfly Reflections Ink today! I've got a cute set of cards today, featuring items from Mama Elephant and MFT. Each of my cards started with a white card base. I then stamped a cute critter (or two!) and balloons or umbrellas from the Mama Elephant's Up Up and Away Stamp Set . Before coloring the images, I used MFT's Cloud Stencil and Catherine Pooler Ink  to create skies full of clouds. Then, I colored in the images with colored pencils, and finished with a sentiment from  Up Up and Away . Here's the four that I made, it created such a cute card set! And here's a few detailed shots: Aren't these critters just the sweetest?  All of these products are still available at Butterfly Reflections Ink. Just a reminder that if you see something that is out of stock at the  store , please click the  "Put Me On The Waiting List" butto...

Pure Innocence by MFT Sending Blessings

Hello everyone, Amanda here, I hope you're enjoying your weekend!  Today I wanted to share a card I made using a recently release Pure Innocence stamp/die set by MFT called, Sending Blessings .  I inked the background hill in Pumice Stone and the clouds in Iced Spruce. (both Distress Inks by Ranger). I used 2 MFT stencils to do this, Mini Cloud Edges  and Drifts and Hills . I love using these for easy scene creators, so check them out in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop !  I Copic colored and die cut all the images to arrange my scene. I used patterned paper from the PhotoPlay Fall Breeze paper pack.  for a few layers under my colored scene. I added some Stickles glitter to the leaves, heat embossed the sentiment in white and cut out that little banner on brown cardstock. I hope you've enjoyed my project, make sure you check out the new products over at  Butterfly Reflections Ink shop!

Made My Day | Hello BlueBird Stamps ( Continuing a card scene from the outside to the inside )

Well, hello friends!  Kari  with you today, and I am happy to be back for today on the BRI blog!  Today I wanted to share with all of you a fun card, and give an idea on how to continue your card scene from the outside to the inside.   For today's card, I am using some adorable images from a new stamp company, Hello BlueBird.  Vanessa's shop is currently the only place that you can purchase these stamps other than the Hello Bluebird website.  That is very exciting for her shop!  This set that I have used today is called  Pig Day   I have also used a few other images from the  Springtime  set as well.   I started out my card by first die cutting a piece of smooth white card stock with a wonky stitched square die from MFT.  I used two different stencils to start out my scene.  The  Drifts and Hills Stencil  and the  Mini Cloud Edges Stencil  both from MFT.  I used Distress...

Hello crafty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Gladys here and I'm sharing this two scene in one card today. I have quite a few steps to cover so let's get started shall we.   So the weather where I live has been bonkers lately. (Ok I lied that's pretty much everyday for me, the struggle is real people!) Well today my card is all about weather and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is ready for warmer temps and to see all the pretty flowers in full bloom.Yes bring on the sunshine because I sure need some Vitamin D.    For my card I used a lot of MFT products. Happy Hippos!

Happy Sunday crafty friends! So nice to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink. blog with you for today :) My project today features MFT products that can be all be found in the Butterfly Reflections Ink. shop ! But I mean, look at those hippos! I just fell in love with them! This is the Happy Hippos stamp set by MFT colored with my Copic Sketch markers - I wanted a really whimsical card and what better than flying Hippos, Lol. For the background "colored" clouds I used the fantastic Cloud Stencil by MFT , I love this stencil! Instead of a typical blue I decided to go with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed to match my Copic accent colors. For the "white" clouds I used the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud borders . I put my elements together and added my favorite Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins . I finished off by adding a little grey Copic markers under my bottom elements to ground them. For those of you intere...

Rainbow Clouds with Shimmer accents

Hi friends!  Kari  with you today sharing this pair of rainbow cards featuring the  Cloud Stencil  from MFT.  This stencil has quickly becoming one of my favorite stencils for sky backgrounds, or creating colorful backgrounds like these.  I love clouds...and I love rainbow, so I thought I would combine the two.  They are so easy to put together, so that is why I created a pair, but you could easily make these assembly line style and have a whole bunch ready to go, and all you would need to do is add different sentiments. I created these cards with the  Thanks Hello  die ( which is on sale currently in the shop).  You could turn these into any kind of occasion like birthday, thinking of you, even sympathy. I used several colors of Distress Inks - Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Scattered Straw, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet. I did do a ...

It's Been Ruff

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting today! I've created a clean and simple, really cute card for you today featuring products from Avery Elle and My Favorite Things available at the  store . I started by creating a light sky background with the MFT Cloud Stencil , a blue cardstock base and white ink. (Love how many options this simple stencil provides!) I then die cut a white fence from the MFT Frightful Fence and some grass in two shades of light green from the MFT Grassy Hills Die-namics . On the top most layer of grass, I die cut Twice the Hugs from MFT so that the darker green could show throw. Then, I stamped and colored the super cute puppy from Avery Elle's More Furry Friends , fussy cut him out and then adhered him to the card. For a finishing touch, I extended my sentiment with a banner from a cute pun, also stamped from  Avery Elle's More Furry Friends . Just a reminder that if you see something that is o...

Smiles Start With You - Newton's Nook

Welcome back friends!   Kari  here to share with you this card featuring the adorable stamp set from Newton's Nook called  Newton's Bird Bath .  I think this set is absolutely adorable and a cute one to create a fun Spring/Summer scene. I wanted to color in my images today with my  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers .  I started by stamping down my images onto a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper with  VersaFine Onyx Black  ink and covering with Clear Embossing Powder, and used my heat tool to set.  I used for the cat - Gray and Light Gray, Bird Bath - Mid Brown, Water - Light Blue and Cobalt Blue, and Birds and Butterfly - Pink Flamingo, Light Carmine, Pink, and Orange. Once I was satisfied with my images, I set aside the panel to dry before using the  Newton's Bird Bath Dies  to cut them out.  Next, I wanted to start building my scene, so I used the new  Cloud Stencil  from MFT and some Tumbled Glas...

I've Always Looked Up To You | My Favorite Things

Hi Friends!   Kari  here with you today, and since we just celebrated Mother's Day here in the States yesterday, I thought this card would be appropriate, although this isn't technically a Mother's Day card.  I think this images in this  Giraffing Me Crazy  MFT set are so sweet! I started off my card with the popular  Cloud Stencil  from MFT, and inked up a piece of smooth white card stock with  Broken China Distress Oxide  ink.  Then, I took the  Peek-a-boo Square Die-namics , and die cut it twice from the white card stock as well as some older 6x6 paper from Lawn Fawn.   I set that aside to work on my giraffe images.  I stamped it with some  Jet Black  from Lawn Fawn since it is a Copic friendly ink.  I colored in my images very simply using my Copics in E34, E37 and Y21.  I also stamped out some leaf clusters and used YG67 and YG17.   I die cut my images with the coordinating...
