BOOYAH!

Hello, everyone! It's Allison here, and I'm excited to be back with you and sharing another card. Today I am using a new-to-me stamp set – Mama Elephant’s Little Boo Agenda . I have not made very many Halloween cards in the past, but they’re so irresistibly cute that I’m finally giving in. I used a fun mix of products from other companies for this card, as well.  First I cut a sheet of grey cardstock in half. I scored one half into a top-folding A2 sized card base. I cut the other half into 2 equal pieces. On each of these pieces, I centered up the 4 th  largest die from the Waffle Flower A2 Layers set and cut out the center to create a frame. Did I line up the die perfectly? Nope – no I did not. But that’s okay – nobody will ever notice. Except for anyone who is reading this blog post. I then cut a piece of acetate to be slightly smaller than the frames. Using Scor-Tape , I adhered the acetate in between the two frames.    I stamped the ghosts with Memento Tuxedo ...

Fall is here

Hi friends!  I'm back sharing this fun fall card using inspiration from the September mood board.  I used several techniques to create this textured fall card.  My rust color is more of an orange, but I'm happy with the way this card turned out! To start, I used a white piece of card stock and ran it though an embossing folder (a very old folder by lifestyle crafts).  Next, I die cut images from the critter huggers winter add on set using various colors of cardstock.  I used the leave from stitched pumpkin frames and outside in stitched pumpkin dies .   Gold foil cardstock used for a few elements.  Next, I added some distress ink to the edges of the die cut pieces for additional interest.   Gold embossing powder used to heat emboss the scarves after stamping with the lush vines background stamp .   Versamark pen used to color in the heart images on the coffee cups and I heat embossed them in gold. Next, I glued the elements to the ...

Sending You Strength

Hi Crafty Friends!! It is  Dana  here today and I am so excited to be back sharing a card with you all! I am using the Gorgeous  Altenew: Beloved Daisy Stamp Set , definitely a favorite. I started my card by using the  Beloved Daisy Stamp Set . I did all of my stamping with my  MISTI , such a great tool for keeping all the layers lined up and for getting a good impression with your ink. Next, I used the  Beloved Daisy Die Set  to die cut my flowers and the stems. There is also a  Coordinating Beloved Daisy Mask Stencil  to go along with this set. For my sentiment, I used the  Pink Fresh Studio You've Got This Stamp Set . This is such a great set with so many wonderful sentiments that you can build, definitely a Must Have. I stamped my sentiment in  VersaMark Ink  (onto Vellum Paper ) and heat set  Silver Embossing Powder . When you are using a heat gun with vellum, make sure your heat gun is very hot and k...

Thanks a Ton

Hello everyone! It's Ashley with a sweet thank you card using Hello Bluebird's Elephant Friends stamp set! I created my ombre background by blending Distress Oxide inks in Tattered Rose , Worn Lipstick , and Seedless Preserves onto a piece of white cardstock. I wanted the colors a bit softer behind my images, so I cut a piece of vellum using the largest rectangle in the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables to layer on top of my ink blending. I stamped this adorable elephant and some critters from Hello Bluebird Elephant Friends onto Bristol Smooth cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I also stamped flowers from Hello Bluebird Fairy Garden and Hello Bluebird Field Mice to create a floral garden around the animals. I colored everything with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. After figuring out my image placement, I stamped the butterfly's trail in VersaMark ink along with the "hugs" scripty sentiment from Hello Bluebird ...

A Lawn Fawn Christmas

Hi all! I'm excited to be guesting here on the BRI Blog today! I've used the Lawn Fawn Oh What Fun stamp set and paired it with the Lawn Fawn Happy Village stamp set to create this fun Christmas-y scene. I used the matching dies for both sets to cut out the images. All images were colored with Copics.  I used MFT inks to sponge onto watercolor paper, then spritzed it with water to remove some of the color and create texture. I sponged on white pigment ink then embossed the 'hills' with white embossing powder . The scalloped frame was cut out of kraft cardstock using the MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames die-namics . Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Angel

Because

Hi Crafty Friends Ali here, its great to be guesting for a day with this lovely set from Concord & 9th - Just Because . For this card I was inspired by a recent video by Jennifer McGuire to pull out my perfect pearls and get some shimmer happening on my card!! Many years ago (19 to be exact) I did buy some 'pearl powders' and now you can get Perfect Pearls in so many beautiful colours! That does illustrate that these powders go a long way and last for ages!! The first thing I did was create my background by stamping the leaf image from the set in versamark ink on some grape coloured card (any dark card will work well) and brushing with my perfect pearls - I used a metallic pearl . The picture below is just after I had covered my images with the powder (after this you wipe it over gently with a microfibre cloth to remove the excess powder from the card where there is no ink) After this, you will need to spray lightly with...

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Wednesday! Lindsay here on the blog featuring a Father's Day Card using some new  My Favorite Things  products as well as some older  Lawn Fawn  products. I'll give you guys a little background for my card. I am my dad's sushi buddy as my mom won't go near it, which is so silly as she is part Japanese. But never the less, our dad and daughter dates are usually accompanied by Japanese food, whether it be sushi, ramen, or simple izakaya food. Okay, now it's time to get back to the card! I started by stamping out the  Let's Roll Stamp Set  from Lawn Fawn using  Copic Safe Black Ink  onto Neenah 80# card stock. I then took out my  Copic Markers  and got to coloring! After finishing coloring I had to fussy cut out the images (EW!) (as I don't have the  Lawn Cuts ). I used these  Spring Cut Scissors , which actually does help the process of fussy cutting to be a little less tedious. The scissors are actual...

Persian Beauty

Hello Crafty Friends!  Put simply - I adore this stamp set! Persian Motifs from Altenew - beautiful images, so easy to colour and the colour combinations you can use for this flower are endless! This stamp set looks stunning coloured with Polychrolo Pencils on Kraft card (by now you will know how much I love kraft card!!) and re-stamped and embossed in gold embossing powder. I began this card by stamping the 3 flower images from the set, using my original Misti, with Momento Potters Clay ink (a light distress ink will word too). IMPORTANT: keep your stamps in your Misti where they are - later you will go back and re-stamp the images, so they need to stay in place! Next I coloured the images using Polychromos. When the colouring was done, I placed the card back into my Misit and re-stamped the images with Versamark Ink , then gold embossed . I then die cut them with the corresponding dies . I made a frame from green cardstock with my mft Stitched Rectangles ...

Box sets....

Hi, hello!   Norine back again this week with some card sets in boxes.  I love making cards (that's kinda why I'm here) but I'm not as good at sending them out, so sometimes I'll collect a few that go together, make them into a set and give them away to others who can use them.  Today though, I began with the intention to made 3 sets specifically for gifts. This post is less about the packaging of these cards, than the cards themselves, but I wanted you to see what they all looked like before we open them up and I show you the cards inside!  I used the new monogram stamps from Concord & 9th for all the cards.  And in the end they are all Thank you cards.  Hello cards will come another day! This set was created by experimenting with ink colors.  It wasn't actually the look I was going for but after stamping off a 2nd generation inking a couple of times, I decided I really liked the look of distressed denim and I expect I'll b...

Painting backwards....

Hello, hello!  Norine here from The Velvet Lemon blog .  It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink!   Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards.  What do I mean, you wonder?  Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color.     For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks.  You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color.   I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Inks for this project, but any wate...
