Weather with You 🌞☔

Hello my crafty friends! It's Veronica here and today I'm sharing with you a couple of super cute cards! To create my scenes, I stamped some critters from Weather With You Stamp Set by My Favorite Things in Memento Tuxedo Black on some pieces of Transotype paper. I colored everything with my Copic Ciao Markers and then I die cut two rectangles.    After sticking my panels on some white paper, I chose the basis of my cards. For the rainy scene, a piece of black paper worked fine to me, while for the sunny one, I chose a patterned paper from the Party Plaid Paper Pad by My Favorite Things (currently out of stock). I stamped two sentiments of the same stamp set with my Versamark Ink and some white and black embossing powders and finally I glued everything on two folded pieces of white paper.     Hope you like my cards and, if you wish so, you can tell me which one is your favorite! From Italy with love, Veronica

Oh Crab!

Hey there!  Good to be back with ya! Today I am sharing my favorite card canvas as of late.  The slim line card.  They are super addicting. I think mainly because you can build all sorts of fun scenes with them and stretch your creativity, literally. Here is a fun card that I made utilizing all that extra space: Here are the directions to make this card. Make card base from cardstock of your choice.  The slim line card measures 8 1/2 x 3 1/2. Cut out a frame for the card using the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics Die and adhere it to the card base.  Stamp all images from the Heffy Doodle A Little Shellfish  and You Go, Gull stamp sets, color with copic marker highlighting with a white gel pen.  Using the A Little Shellfish and You Go, Gull  coordinating dies, cut out the images.  To make the scene, take the smaller frame that you cut out earlier and make the sky by blending Tumbled Glass Oxide ink on the top of the frame making the sky....

Thank You So Much!

Hello!  Merry Christmas!!  I hope this finds you happy, healthy and with those you love this lovely day!  Yes, I know that is a lot of exclamations but I feel Christmas is deserving of them.  With Christmas in mind or any Holiday you celebrate this season, I feel that a thank you card often goes forgotten.  I myself am guilty of it.  So for today's card I a made a Thank you card.  Let me tell you how I made this super easy card.  Minutes, I tell ya. First you I stamped my images from the Frosty Littles stamp set by Hello Blue bird with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I then colored them with my copics and gave detail with my white Signo Uniball pen.  Using the coordinating Frosty Littles dies , I cut the images out.  I then trimmed a small piece from the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Christmas 6x6 paper pad and adhered it to the card base.  I then trimmed down a piece of the Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust sparkle cardstock and adhered it t...

Merriest Wishes to You

Hey there!!  So I wanted to share a card with you that was fun and easy to make. Let me tell you how I made it. First I took an acrylic stamping block and put Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink on one half of it and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink on the other.  I spritzed some water on the stamping block letting the ink pool a little.  I then turned over the stamping block onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper  and let it sit for a few seconds.  I then took my heat gun and dried it all the way through.  I trimmed it down and stamped a greeting from the Snow Play stamp set from Hello Bluebird .  I had a image that I had stamped, colored and die cut from the North Pole Littles Stamp  set and the North Pole Littles Dies .  I adhered the cute Santa to the watercolor piece.  I then trimmed down a piece of patterned paper from the Knit Picky 6x6 paper pad from Lawn fawn and adhered it to a white card base.  Using foam a...

A Merry Shaker Card

Hey there!  So glad to be back with this card today!  Simple has been my theme of late.  Mainly because of how busy this season is.  So without further ado, let's get to the making of this card. I started by taking a die cut shape from Outside in Stitched Heart by Lawn Fawn and cutting through the card.  The entire card.  You will have to do this twice and it is very important to get the right placement.  Make sure you line the card front and back up before cutting.  I also cut a shape out of the patterned paper found in the Lawn Fawn Knit Picky 6x6 paper pad .  I then cut a 2 pieces of tulle just larger that the die cut out and adhered one to front of the card base and the other to the patterned paper with the cut out.  I then placed various sequins in the tulle and adhered the patterned paper to the front making sure the die cut areas matched up.  Be sure to put your adhesive right along the edges of the die cut or the ...

Season's Greetings!

Yay it's Tuesday!  That means it's my turn on the blog.  I have been eyeing these super cute stamps by Hello Bluebird since I saw sneaks of them.  Truly.  I told Vanessa that these were a must have.  I was right.  Let's get to the instructions on how I made this card. First I made an A2 card base with white cardstock.  I then took a piece of 110 lb white cardstock and blended Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar and Dusty Concord Oxide Inks to create the background.  I trimmed down the background to 3 3/4 x5"and adhered it to the card base.  Next I stamped the cute images from North Pole Littles  with Gina K Amalgam Ink , colored them with copic markers and used the coordinating North Pole Littles Dies to cut them out.   I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillsid e dies to create a snowbank out of white cardstock which I trimmed and adhered to the card.   Using thin foam adhesive squares I adhered all the cute images t...

Christmas Agenda

Happy Tuesday!  I am super excited to be here to share with you a card I recently made.  I have been coloring a lot lately and not making much with what I was coloring.  So I forced myself to sit down and make one.  I was inspired by a card made by Sharna Waksmulski.  I saw it on her instagram at @cardsbysharna.  Go check it out.  So here is my take on that card: Here is how I made it: I stamped the images from the Mama Elephant stamp sets of Little Snowman Agenda , Little Reindeer Agenda and Little Santa Agenda . I colored them with my copic markers and then cut them using the Little Snowman Agenda Dies , Little Reindeer Agenda Dies and Little Santa Agenda Dies and set them aside.  I took some colored cardstock and trimmed it down to 4"x 5 1/4" and inked up the edges with Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet .    I then did the same with a strip of the same cardstock. Taking my metallic watercolors, I sp...

Thanks a Bushel!

Well hello!  So glad to be here with you today.  I have to say I am loving fall.  It finally feels like fall here in AZ.  We've been getting a lot of rain and just beautiful weather here.  So I wanted to dig into my stash of favorite stamps that have a fall theme.  I grabbed some of the good ones.  These sets are both from Lawn Fawn but they are so great!  Here is what I made with them: I love these two sets.  One is Thanks a Bushel and the other is Cutie Pie .  So great for fall.  Here is how I made it.  First, I cut a square from patterned paper and adhere it to a square card front.  I stamped the images with Gina K. Amalgam Ink and then colored them with copics.  I then used the coordinating dies for Cutie Pie and Thanks a Bushel and cut them out.  Next I used a square die cut and adhered it to the patterned paper.  Using foam adhesive, I adhered the images to the card front.  I then st...

Deepest Thanks

Well hey there!  Super excited to be back this Tuesday.  Things are finally settling down here for me in AZ.  Especially the cooler temps!  WOO HOO!  Today's card is a scene I've been wanting to make for awhile.  I finally sat down and got it done.  Yay! To make the scene I first used Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxides and blended the background.  I then die cut it from the stitched from Lawn Fawn and adhered it to the card front.  I then stamped the images from the You Are Sublime set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  After coloring them with Copic Markers, I die cut them with the matching You Are Sublime Lawn Cuts .  Next, I put adhered each image to the scene with foam adhesive and runner adhesive.  I then stamped the sentiment onto the card.   To add detail I used a White Gelly Roll pen to add dots to the fish and lines to the eel.  I also added Clear Wink of Stella to the ee...

For the Love of Cocoa!

YAY!  So happy to be back with you all today!  Today I am going to share with you a card that I absolutely love.   So this Thanks A Latte set from Lawn Fawn is perfect!  Truly.  I loved that it has a cocoa sentiment as I inhale cocoa.  I love it.  I am an addict.  After seeing this set, I happily set to work on this card. I started by cutting the cute patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn 6x6 Knit Picky Fall paper pad  down to fit my A2 card base and adhered it to the card.  I die cut the Lacy Heart  from white cardstock.  Using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink I stamped the images, colored the mug, contents and marshmallows (aren't they the cutest!) with Copic markers.  After die cutting them out with the matching dies , I took another piece of patterned paper, stamped and cut out the scarf and adhered it to the mug.  Then I began to assemble the rest of the card.  I adhered the mug to the hear...

Sending You Happy Mail...

Hello and Good-bye.  Norine here, from The Velvet Lemon , with my last post for this Design Team term.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4 months here and I hope I've shared with you some ideas and techniques that have inspired you.  I hope to continue sharing my work here in the future when there are gaps in the blog schedule that need to be filled!  Todays cards were just such a pleasure to create!  I used the stamp set from Strawberry Jude called Squirrel Mail , as well as the Focus on You floral stamps from Altenew to create the little flower bush around the base of the mailbox post.  I stamped with Copic friendly ink and colored the images with Copic markers.  I also stamped the images onto Eclipse masking paper so that I could blend-ink the background with Ranger Distress Oxide inks .  To delineate the line between grass and sky better, I sketched a line and added some grass strokes with a Copic Multiliner pen. As much as I hated...

Layered Roses....

Sorry guys, that's the lamest of blog titles, but it was the best my poor, tired brain could come up with! Norine from The Velvet Lemon , back with you today with some pretty layered stamping floral cards. I got to use a fun variety of products this week, to create these cards and I'm going to share them all with you here. To start with, I wanted to play with my new Altenew Crisp Dye Inks , to get a feel for the various color combinations.  So I used the floral stamp from the Story of Us floral layering stamp set from Altenew to try the various ink combinations and the flower I used on the gingham card is the Red Cosmos series , while the one on the quilted background card below uses the Tea Party ink set .  The leaves are a mix of Frayed Leaf for the base with a tad of Minty Mint thrown in here and there, and then layered, or actually just restamped with darker shades around the edges using Forest Glade , and Moss . The gingham card uses the Many Than...

Altenew’s 4th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3 + Giveaway

Hey, hey BRI friends!  We're hopping today to celebrate the 4th Birthday of Altenew , one of our favorite stamping companies!  You should have arrived here from the Altenew blog , and we're glad you're here to share the excitement! There are prizes and inspiration and it's going to be FUN! With you today, is Norine from The Velvet Lemon  creating for Butterfly Reflections Ink  and I have some projects to share today, that I made using some recently released Altenew products .   First up, are these two cards created with the Mega Succulent stamp set .   I stamped the image onto water color paper using the MISTI , then turned on the music and sat and colored.   I used Faber Castell watercolor pencils so I could more easily control where the color would sit and then painted with a water brush .  I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of vellum, heat embossed with clear embossing powder to ensure that the ink wouldn't smudge...
