Hi, everyone! It is Shawna posting today with a new layout share. I thought I would talk a little bit about my process as I share today. Everyone's process is a little different and it is fun to see how they differ. I won't go into intricate details but I hope you enjoy what I do share and take some inspiration from my layout.
When I start a layout, I of course pick out the photo first, followed by my patterned paper choices. I am one who likes to make sure the photo matches the papers in some form. I think most of us are. I am using the 6x6 paper pad from Dear Lizzy Daydreamer (here). I like how the blue coordinated well with my daughters shirt even if its a couple shades off. It still works.

After my papers, I pull some embellishments. I only pull a few coordinating items so I have a small supply to go off of. I can add more later. For this layout I pulled some Pink Paislee alphas, Daydreamer Puffy Heart Stickers (not pictured), Wood Buttons, My Mind's Eye wood dots, and a couple other random embellishments. You can find many of these products in the shop!
When I work on a layout I pretty much randomly cut paper strips at different sizes and widths. I find
this forces me to get creative more quickly. Then I can arrange them in different styles and see
what works best in the end.
After that it is just finishing touches. The photo and papers seem to be the most important
part of the process for me. Here is the end result. I ended up pulling out the adorable Technique Tuesday Kiss stamp set as well as some Mister Huey's mist.
I hope you have enjoyed walking through my process with me.
Thank so much for stopping by!
