Happy Saturday! It's Marcie here, from Sharp Designs. I'm excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today and have THREE cards to share using the gorgeous July Mood Board as my inspiration.
Aren't those colours divine? I couldn't wait to play along!
I create a bokeh effect on my first card. I die cut circles in a few sizes from a thin scrap of cardstock. Using it as my template I inked through it in various colours onto the yellow card base, saving the white pigment ink for last. The sentiment from Written in Watercolor was embossed with Liquid Platinum powder. Sequins from the Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend collection finish it off.
For this next card, I made a fun shaker card using Flirty Frames and the coordinating Lawn Cuts. Ombre inking and an embossed sentiment from Party Animal are a perfect backdrop for the sequins!
The final card uses one of my favourite Hero Arts stamp sets ever- the Bird and Branch set from the Color Layering collection. Avery Elle's Scalloped Frames embosses that lovely frame onto your cardstock, but I wanted it cut out, so I followed the scalloped edges and fussy cut it out to get the look I wanted. Once the bird was stamped and the sentiment heat embossed, I flicked some pale yellow into the white cardstock before popping it up using foam adhesive onto the card base.
There are LOTS of ways to use that beautiful Mood Board for your inspiration. Three different cards using the same colour scheme. Want to play along? Link your creations up in the comment section on THIS POST HERE (the original July mood board post).
Beautiful work, Marcie!! Love, love, love that bird!!!
