Happy weekend everyone! It's Marcie here from Sharp Designs.
Did you see the gorgeous mood board Amanda posted yesterday? SO lovely. I think I say that about every mood board each month, but it really gets better and better. I would have never thought persimmon paired with powder blue would work...but it DOES!
I have two cards to share today using the September mood board. One is a close approximation of the colours in their full saturation, and the other is one in muted, soft tones of the same colours.
For the first card I used a My Favorite Things background stamp and Steel Grey ink on the card base. Wouldn't the Wonky Chevron Background stamp be perfect for this look too? After scribbling some Distress Markers (Broken China, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Hickory Smoke) on watercolor paper, I lightly softened each colour with a little water.
The 'happy' from Blueprints #26 was embossed with Metallic Silver powder, and the sentiment from Whimsical Wishes was stamped in black.
The final card uses softer washes of the same colour palette. I watercolored Distress Inks onto watercolor paper, then stamped the Star Celebration Background stamp in white pigment ink. The stars were then heat embossed with Clear Sparkle embossing powder. Silvery thread and Metallic Silver embossing powder for the sentiment (Brushstroke Birthday by My Favorite Things) finish the card off.
That's it for me today! Thanks for sharing your time with me. Don't forget about the Labor Day sale in the shop, on until Monday. You won't want to miss that!
