for pumpkin everything!!
You know you've seen it everywhere, even in kitty litter. (Seriously, Tidy Cats? I think that's one thing that can be left pumpkin-less.)
Emily here with a pair of super-pumpkin-y cards for you today. We have fully embraced fall at our house with pumpkin-scented and -flavored things, so when Neat and Tangled released this absolutely adorable stamp set, I needed it to create these cards:
For the shaker card, since I didn't want my card base to warp from the heat of my heat gun, I decided to use my Perfect Pearls and Perfect Medium to create a multi-colored greeting. I stamped it first on the card base with Perfect Medium, then used Perfect Pearls in Copper (for the pumpkin itself), Heirloom Gold (for the words), and Green Patina (for the leaf). The frame was easily constructed with the use of the Avery Elle Sweet Scallops die set and a rectangular die that I had in my stash. Now for the really fun part: the leaves and pumpkins. I took a panel of my favorite watercolor card stock and my Zig Clean Color markers and scribbled red, yellow, and orange into a corner, then took my wet paintbrush and mooshed (technical term) the colors together. I then took my Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves and die cut leaves from the dried watercolor panel.
Now, the tricky part came when my brain said "Why don't you add some pumpkins, Emily?" After I decided that would certainly be appropriate given the sentiment, I discovered to my dismay that I had no pumpkin stamps... not a one. I find this to be impressive considering the sheer volume of stamps in my collection. Luckily, pumpkins are pretty easy to draw, and I was able to create some that looked fairly similar to the pumpkin in the sentiment. Using those same red, orange, and yellow Zig markers, I colored in those pumpkins and fussy cut them out, adding them to the corner the front of the shaker. I filled the shaker itself with some Chocolate Truffle sequins from Lucy Abrams and the remaining watercolored leaves.
The second card was actually created with the purpose of being the panel behind the shaker in my original design. However, I liked it enough by itself that I didn't really want to cover it up with shaking sequins!

I started out with a panel of hot-press watercolor card stock (I find that Distress Ink blends more easily on this type of card stock.) I heat embossed the sentiment in gold glitter embossing powder, then used my red and orange Zig markers to color in the pumpkin. I took my ink blending tool and blended first Spiced Marmalade Distress ink around the edges and near the sentiment, then layered over top Ripe Persimmon ink closer to the edges in order to create a "halo" effect around the sentiment. A few gold sequins added some dimension, and the whole thing was popped up off the front of the card base with fun foam.
