Snow Globe Tags

Hello and happy Monday!

Emily here today with a pair of snow globe tags for you all. Now, I don't know about you, but I always seem to get really busy with cards around Christmas, which always makes me kinda forget about making tags. I took the opportunity to start early this year and created this sweet little set of tags using the new Avery Elle Snow Globe stamps and dies, my favorite Zig markers and a couple of other fun tools.

I started out by doing all of my stamping onto some Strathmore watercolor card stock using Ranger Archival Ink in black. After die cutting the solid snow globes (you can also cut a window so that you can make a shaker card... how fun is that?!), I used my Zig markers to color and watercolor the images. I truly love that you can create such subtle shading with the Zig markers by just using such a tiny amount of ink and plenty of water... the blue of the glass dome is so subtle, but makes such a huge impact! After I colored everything, I wanted to add the snow falling as it should in a snow globe, so I tried using my Sakura white pen. Unfortunately, it didn't make quite the visual impact I was hoping for because the coloring in the dome is so pale, so I decided to try out my new Liquid Applique snow pen. I added tiny dots of snow all over and little hills of snow on the tree branches. I let it dry completely, then puffed it up with my heat gun. Wow! Such a neat effect. You don't truly get the wow factor until you do it in person... so cool! My snow globes still looked a little flat, so I decided to cover the entirety of the tag with Versamark ink, then cover them with clear embossing powder. It's amazing how brilliant the colors became with the addition of the clear embossing powder.

The photo above is not the best picture, I'll admit, but it serves to show how super shiny the embossing powder made the tag. I really love the effect it made!

That's all for me today, so I hope you enjoyed my first Christmas post! Christmas is most definitely my favorite season for which to craft, so I'm so excited to finally be allowed to play without people looking at me like I'm crazy... (most specifically my husband, but men can be such stinkers about Christmas. Ha!) Have a fabulous week, friends!
