I love the combination of pink and mint. It reminds me of the queen in Candyland... It's just so pretty. The new Elsa's Flora set from Winnie and Walter was just screaming to me to be done in pink and mint. Apparently, I'm all about the non-traditional holiday color combinations this year.
Anyway, to start, I die cut a dotted oval from the Avery Elle Sweet Scallops die set and used my Zig markers to do a very light pink watercolor wash on the back of it. I stamped the poinsettia, leaf, and pinecone images several times on watercolor cardstock using a very pale gray ink. I then did some no-line watercoloring using my Zig markers. After the floral images had dried, I fussy cut them out, set them aside, and turned my attention to the sentiment. I pulled out the Merry Stamp and Cut set from Hero Arts and die cut the "merry" from deep pink cardstock. I then placed my fussy cut flowers approximately where I wanted them so as to get an idea of where I wanted the sentiment and adhered the "merry" and stamped the greeting. For the card base, I used a piece of mint cardstock and stamped the pine boughs using coordinating mint ink to add some subtle interest to the corners. I popped up the oval with some foam tape, then re-arranged and adhered the florals on the card front. Some Shimmer Pico Embellisher on the "merry" die cut added a little texture, and some Opal Whisper sequins added some sparkle to the corners.
I hope you enjoyed this card! Maybe next week, I can try some more traditional holiday colors haha. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving, friends!
