Welcome to the Thursday edition of the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! Janette here bringing you some love, Darling Duo love. This shaker card features tulle, Newton's Nook, Lawn Fawn, and sequin mixes from Lucy's Cards. Let's hop to it!
I began by coloring these adorable kitties from the Darling Duos set by Newton's Nook, not knowing how I was going to use them. I colored them with Copic markers to resemble two rescue kitties we have loved. Our beloved siamese (Suki) is chasing catnip in the sky, but the black (Luna) is just as fat and sassy as could be. I fussy cut this set, but a die set is available.
Venture into your stash of backgrounds from time to time. I did here and pulled out this beauty created with Colorburst watercolor powders (coming soon to BRI!). After stamping "I Love You" with Lawn Fawn's Scripty Sayings stamp set, I stitched tulle to 3 sides leaving the fourth open to fill with Lily White and Lipstick sequins mixes by Lucy's Cards.
Getting the kitties attached to the card seamlessly was solved by sliding a small piece of wax paper just behind the tulle and then using Multi Matte Medium for adhesion that would hold without being sticky. Once dry, I easily slipped out the wax paper and stitched the fourth side closed. The tulle's weave is tight enough to hold even the smallest seed beads in without obscuring the sentiment. This particular tulle even offers a smidge of shimmer.

This card is already off to my daughter on a Southern California beach living the university dream life. A simple greeting from home may add a skip in her step between classes. Mail your cards... and when you do, stamp them with your name and a little spunk like this Snail Mail stamp set from Technique Tuesday.
Thank you for stopping by. Hope you'll pop in again soon and have a fabulous day!
