Guest Designer Sunday - Chari Moss

Chari here, and I'm happy to be back today with another Guest Designer project for the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! I hope you are all enjoying the new Lawn Fawn goodies now that they are available.  Today I have a fun Birthday card for you with a bit more of a masculine tone using the new Loveable Legends set.  This set is so fun with the images of Nessie, the Kracken and Bigfoot all in that cute Lawn Fawn style.  

I used a woodgrain paper from My Mind's Eye for my background to set the masculine tone.  I was going for a sort of nautical feel so I pulled out the Blue Jay and Chili Pepper cardstock to cut the stitched frame and scalloped circle from. I chose a blue plaid from the Perfectly Plaid collection for the background of my frame and layered some die cut vellum waves over top.

I stamped Nessie and his party hat on cream colored cardstock to mute my copic coloring just slightly adding some white gel pen dot details. I used some Mermaid cardstock and vellum along the bottom, also cut with the ocean wave border dies and stamped my sentiment with Peacock ink.  I had to get a little creative with my sentiment, there is not a "happy" stamp in this set, so I swipped that part of my sentiment from the Little Bundle set and did some selective inking.  Once I had Nessie settled into the vellum waves I finished assembling my card using some Liberty Lawn Trimmings twine, little water splashes stamped in new Merman (my new favorite) and some sparkle white Doodlebug sprinkle embellishments.
