For the wavy ocean, I used My Favorite Things' Snow Drifts Cover-Up. The first time I saw this die, I was like hmmm I don't know how to use it and I simply tossed it aside. However, the more I tried to use it, the more possibilities it can offer! I have made land, sky, abstract background, and now ocean out of it!! Stay tuned with my blog for those examples, some are already there, some are coming soon :) Anyways, believe me, this die is a must-have!
- Die cut Snow Drifts Cover-Up out of watercolor paper. Blend blue and teal inks on the bottom panels and add water droplets. Cut away the top inner parts of the cover up die to free up the top space. The, in lay the bottom colored pieces
- On the card base, blend some yellow inks as halo
- Stamp, color and fussy cut out the whales and adhere them as shown
- Finish with the sentiment and some hearts
When I look at the finished card, the waves remind me of the banners at sushi restaurants. Here's a picture in case you don't know what I'm talking about. This card looks very Asian to me now. Once you see it, you can't un-see it LOL.
