So Proud of You

Happy Thursday, everyone! It’s Lorraine (of Created by Lorraine) and I'm here to share a card that I’ve made for graduation season. I have to say that graduation cards are some of my favorite cards to make – as a former educator, graduation time tends to pull on the ol’ heart strings, and I just love celebrating such an important accomplishment.

This card uses the newly released Pretty Posies stamps and dies by My Favorite Things, as well as the Simply You stamps and die by Avery Elle. First, I stamped, colored, and die cut the flowers and leaves. Next, I die cut the “You” 3x and glued pieces on top of each other to make a thick, almost chipboard-like design element. Then, I stamped the "so proud of" part of the sentiment and worked on my flower arrangement – I glued the flower stems to the card and popped the head of flowers on foam adhesive to gain some dimension. Lastly, I glued the You down on top of the flower stems and added the leaves with glue or foam adhesive.

Sometimes, I like to use the graduate's school colors for the card. In this case, I made a card for my nephew who will be graduating from high school next week. His school colors are red and blue.
