Guest Designer Sunday with Gladys Marcelino

Hello! Today we are excited to have another INCREDIBLE post with our Guest Designer this month: Gladys Marcelino ! We're so sad July is almost over and we'll have to bid her adieu!! But before we get TOO sad, let's check out this last project!! Awesome!! ____________________________________________ Hello everyone! I'm back again and I would like to share with you my second card as a guest designer on the BRI blog. I used the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends stamp set for the first time. I've had this set for awhile and I'm not sure why it took me sooo long to ink it up. These fairies are so adorable!  LF is coming out with another set called Frosty Friends for their Fall release and they're definitely going to be as popular!! For my card I used the sunflower and two fairies.  Thi s card was not hard to put together at all because there was not that many pieces. I envisioned the fairies having fun playing in the flower field.  I stamped the

DT Open Call for September-December Term

Hi, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the summer. My daughter celebrated her 6th birthday a week ago so we had a pool party for her last weekend. The kids have really been enjoying the pool for sure and both are now swimming. Avery is a little fish and can swim the length of the pool underwater and we haven't done swim lessons or anything. Andrew can flip into the pool and is starting to want to do tricks on his bike. Fun, fun! We went camping a couple of weekends ago and have another camping trip coming up. The kids also went to day camp for a week this month and will go again one week in August. It's helping the time go by a little quicker and giving me a little sanity. ;) We're trying to hit a water park before summer's end and perhaps take a mini road trip down to RI/CT to visit their zoo and aquarium. That's a little update on my end and hope all of you and your families are well. Now onto why I'm here! It's that time again and ALREADY! I th

Bible Journaling w/ The Greeting Farm

Hello, everyone! It is Jessi from Kissin' Krafts ! I am excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog , today! I have joined the Bible Journaling community a few months ago. So when I saw that BRI carried the faith-based stamp sets from The Greeting Farm, I knew I had to get to work! For today's page, I choose the adorable  Trust in the Lord stamp set .  I stamped the angel image in the center of the column. The image is colored in using Neocolors and ZIG Clean Color markers. The phrases were stamped in black ink. The inside of the 'Lord' image is also colored in with Neocolors. I used a variety of blues and greens to create the scene around the angel. Water was used to blend the colors together. If you would like to see the  Trust in the Lord stamp set and the other The Greeting Farm sets, check out this SECTION in the BRI store. Thank you for stopping by today! Jessi Supplies from BRI Store: The Greeting Farm - Trust in

Set of Thank You Cards

Hi friends!  It's Lorraine ( Created by Lorraine ) and I'm back from my trip home to Cali for my brother's wedding.  It was so fun and so full of love.  Im feeling so much gratitude for having such an awesome family, which continues to grow.  To express my gratitude, I made a set of thank you cards. Here's the first: For each of the cards, I used Avery Elle's Banner and Wreath stamp set and coordinating dies .  On this card, I stamped images, colored them with Copic markers, and die cut them.  Then I stamped some of the flower images directly onto the card base and colored them with Copics.  Lastly, I adhered the die-cut images -- some with glue and some with foam tape -- to get a multi-dimensional and layered look.  A close up: Here's the second card, using the same technique: And the third card, where I simply adhered die-cut images to a woodgrain card base. All together now, the complete card set. Thank you so much for taking a

Beautiful Flowers...

...can solve a multitude of problems. And even if that's not true, beautiful flowers sure can't hurt anything!  Hi friends! Emily Midgett back on the BRI blog once again with a pair of cards full of flowery goodness! I've been playing along with #thedailymarker30day over on Instagram (I'm @eamidgett if you'd like to follow along!), and I watercolored this first panel last week: I simply stamped Avery Elle's Floral Frame onto some Canson Montval watercolor paper using my handy-dandy Mini Misti and heat embossed using Ranger White Satin pearl embossing powder. I colored the gorgeous flowers using an array of purple and teal-y green Zig Clean Color markers, blending and adding shadows with a wet paintbrush. The greeting is from Concord and 9th's Beautiful Words stamp set and Wonderful Words dies, stamped with Altenew's Shades of Purple mini ink pads. The die cut sentiment was die cut twice from regular card stock and once from shimmery silve

Gettin Dirty

Hey ya'll I am so excited to share this layout with you all today! So go ahead and sip on that morning coffee and a sweet treat and come along for this fun scrapbooking layout! So my son is into anything that goes fast these day's and this mama isn't so much, but I want to support my kids and what makes them happy. So I snap this picture of my son practicing his balance on his dirt bike. This picture really does make me so proud. So lets take a look at what I came up with! I just feel like everything I feel about this picture came out perfect in my design of the layout. I used  Fancy Pants Happy Place 6x6 paper pad  for the right and left side of the layout. I just cut the papers in strips and then layered them on top of one another. For the title I used the alphabet and number pack that I had already in my stash. The title is actually the noise of the dirt bike. It's a popular hashtag so I'm told.  and finally how bout this background! YES! I really n

Hello, Beautiful Girl!

Hello fellow crafters!  It’s Lorraine (from Created by Lorraine) here to share a clean and simple card I made using the Beautiful Girl stamp set from My Favorite Things . The little ballerina is as sweet as can be!  To make this card, I first stamped the dancer using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I then colored the image using Copic markers and fussy cut it out.  I masked off the top and bottom parts of the card base to lightly blend on some Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.  I then masked off angles within that area to blend in more ink, to make the spotlights for the dancer.  After peeling off the masks, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Onyx Black ink.  Lastly, I adhered the dancer onto the card base using foam adhesive. And there you have it!  Thank you for taking a look!

Owl Always Love You!

Hi Butterfly Ink-ers!   Kimberly here today to share a sweet card made using stamps from Lawn Fawn.   I made this for my daughter, who has been having a rough time lately - two oral surgeries and lots of pain and tears over the last week at my house....so I thought I'd make a card to let her know how much I love her!! SUPPLIES Lawn Fawn - Mom & Me Stamp Set MFT - Watercolor Wash 6x6 Paper Pad Lawn Fawn - Perfectly Plaid 6x6 Paper Pad Lawn Fawn - Stitched Rectangle Dies Lawn Fawn - Simple Puffy Clouds Dies Lawn Fawn - Grassy Border Die MFT Hybrid Ink -  Milk Chocolate Nuvo Drops - Dark Walnut Copic Markers  Circle Punch I began creating my scene by die cutting the grassy border from a green shade of paper included in the Watercolor Wash paper pad.   I adhered it to some blue paper from the same paper pad (what a perfect sky background!!) and then die cut the panel out using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  I added some clouds to the sky, along with

#13

Hi Everyone! It's Karin from  PeppermintPatty's Papercraft , here to share some inspiration. Today's card is one I  made for my sweet niece Emelie's 13th birthday next week. I wanted to make it sweet but a little cool too (-: This is how I make a much taller panel for my card than the die actually cuts. I simply cut halfway first, remove it from the diecutting machine and then move the die as far down as I need it to go and cut it from the other end. I stop where I see that my last cut ends. I colored all my images with copics and i added some white dots on the little yeti cheecks with a white jelly roll pen . Love the Game Layout

Good morning and happy Saturday! Samantha here and I'm sharing a little layout with you today! I won't go into too much detail on how I actually created the layout, because I'm taking this AMAZING class , and the details are all there! Ha! :) But I will talk about the AWESOME products and story of this layout! Win!! :) I decided to go with a navy and yellow color combo, because I am totally CRUSHING on navy lately! It goes with everything! I just love it! So I tinted some of my embossing paste with some paint to get the yellows in the stars through the stencil !  Then I added some texture by using Chipboard Stickers and Ephemera from the Shimelle Starshine Collection ! The title was created with the navy Thickers ! I added some texture to the layout by stitching one some onf my elements - LOVE that! Then, I used some http://butterflyreflectionsink.3dcartstores.com/Stitched-Painted-Rub-Ons_p_2523.html rubons from the Amy Tangerine Stitched collection to a

Smitten & Cute

Hello Everyone and Happy FRIYAY!! I am back with another layout! This time I am working with the Pink Paisley C'est La Vie Collection. Oh LA LA! This collection really reminds me of something elegant, pretty, and sophisticated. So that's what I went for in this layout. I wanted something simple but pretty.  I love these flowers and the cluster that's going on, on in the upper left corner. I also love the  Gold Foil Jumbo Stickers  that go along with this collection. I used the  Amy Tangerine Rise and Shine Foam Stickers  for a title. This Me + You heart is perfect for my layout. These  Puffy Stickers  are the prettiest puffy stickers and are so fun to work with. I also used some of Maggie Holmes butterflies. I had those laying on my desk forever and they went well with the layout.    So that pretty much wraps up my layout for this week and be looking out for a process video over on my YouTube channel! See you all next week!!

Super Special Amazing Day

Hi Butterfly Reflections Ink friends!  It's Lorraine here ( Created by Lorraine ) joining you from California, where my brother will be getting married in a couple days!  Woo hoo!  Family and friends are traveling in from all over to be part of a special day.  To celebrate the lovely couple, I made this... This card uses the Amazing  and Modern Modern Mini Blooms  stamp sets from My Favorite Things, as well as the MFT Doubly Amazing  dies.  To make it, I first die cut and glued together the Amazing word die.  Then I stamped the sentiment.  Next, I stamped most of the leaves and flowers directly onto the card base.  I stamped a couple roses on a separate piece of card stock and fussy cut them out.  Lastly, I adhered the amazing die-cut onto the card base with glue, adhered the rose cut-outs with foam tape, and glued on some sequins.  And, there you have it! Best wishes to my brother and my new sister in law.  Wishing you a super special amazing day...and lifetime together:)

Absolutely Fabulous Rose Gold Embossing Paste!

Happy Hump Day!   Kimberly here, and today I have a card to share that uses no stamps....zip, zero, nada!    Now let me tell you.....that is a rare thing in my craft room, lol!!  SUPPLIES Bo Bunny Rose Gold Glitter Paste MFT Chunky Herringbone Stencil  MFT Die-Namics - Absolutely Fabulous  Glossy Accents  I started with a piece of black cardstock and spread the Rose Gold Glitter Paste over top of the stencil.   The glitter adds such a wow factor when used on dark cardstock!!   I tried it out on white as well and it's equally amazing.   Since the background was so fabulous (ha ha!!), I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple, so I die cut the 'Absolutely' from raspberry cardstock and after adding some Glossy Accents to the letters, I mounted it to a black strip and adhered it to the center of my card.  To make the 'fabulous' word die stand out, I die cut it from both black and white cardstock and offset it just a touch for a nice shad

Just keep swimming!

Hi Everyone! It's Karin from  PeppermintPatty's Papercraft , here to share some inspiration. For today's card I've played with some new favorites I just got in the mail from BRI - such superfast delivery even for me who is on the other side of the pond! I just had to have these wonderful layering stamps from Hero Arts. Have you tried them yet? They are so much fun to play with and you get a beautiful result both fast and easy! I simply inked my bg with distressink and when it was dry I stamped the weed and bubbles. I added glossy accent to the bubbles for a bit of dimension. The fish are simply stamped and fuzzy cut. I used MFT ink which worked out well I think. This cute little dog is soo pretty and sweet moving to his bowl and bones!  I first die cut a stitched rectangle and a little heart out of some red cardstock, and a wonky stitched rectangle out of some white cardstock. I stamped all my images from the set " Furry Friends " with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink , i colored them with copics and i fussy cut them ( you can also use their coordinated dies to have a perfectly die cut image). I also added some white details with a white gelly roll pen . Then i started coloring my background, i used Tumbled Glass distress ink for the sky and some Shabby Shutters distress ink for the grass ( i also colored an additional strip of cardstock to create the grass that is showing through the die cut line!) .
