Hello! I am so excited to be bringing you my first design team post for the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog and shop! * Insert girlish squeals here * !!!! Fall and winter are my favorite crafty times! I make wintery cards throughout the year! I hope you're excited and ready to be inspired!
Today I have a summery themed card. I'll ease into Christmas for those of you who haven't pulled out your Christmas decorations all ready.....yes, yes. That's me. I'm ready to go! Anyway....I'm going to be using some old and new Lawn Fawn products in today's card. Ready? Here we go!!
I started by stamping out my images with THIS ink onto some heavy weight cardstock. I used the hedgehogs and hearts from THIS stamp set and the trees and birdhouse from THIS stamp set. I colored them in using various colors of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I used EB1 and EB2 for the body of the hedgehogs, GB8 and GB10 for the spikes, FS2 for the cheeks, DR1 for the hearts, and IG1 and IG2 for the trees. I also used a few Copic markers for the birdhouse ( YR02 and YR04 and G00 and G02 ). I cut out the hedgehogs and hearts with THESE dies and the trees and birdhouse with THESE dies. I added a bit of shimmer to my colored images using THIS shimmer pen.
I die cut THESE clouds from more heavy weight cardstock and distressed them with a bit of Broken China Distress Ink. I didn't add any ink to my blender because I wanted just a bit of color. Then I die cut two panels using the second largest die in THIS set. I cut one piece with THESE dies to create a hill background for the hedgehogs to stand on. I distressed the sky background piece with Broken China and THIS ink. I blended the grassy ground with THIS ink and just a tad bit of THIS ink.
I spattered some water mixed with Perfect Pearls onto my Distressed Inked pieces and clouds and dried them with a paper towel after about 30 seconds. The Perfect Pearls give some shimmer and interest to the background pieces. After the grass piece dried I stamped the sentiment with THIS ink. I used some foam dots, liquid glue, and tape runner adhesive to put together my card.
That's it! My nice little scene card! I've linked to everything I can think of at the STORE. If anything is out of stock be sure to put yourself on the waiting list! That let's Vanessa know she needs to order more!
I can't wait to bring you another card next week! See you soon!!
