Happy Friday everyone! Gladys here and I would like to share this card I created in celebration of the new year ahead. Whoo hoo!! Are you all ready for 2017?
For my card panel I wanted to use a skyline and fireworks so what could be better than the New York skyline right? I don't have a fireworks stamp so I had to improvise a bit. I used the firework stencil from Echo Park. I knew I was going to create a night sky with distress inks so instead of distressing the stencil I embossed it instead. I didn't think it would work but it turned out pretty good and it wasn't that difficult to do. I did use tape to make sure I don't put the embossing ink where it shouldn't go then from there I poured silver pearl embossing powder and melted it with a heat tool.
I distressed the background with blueprint sketch, seedless preserves, and abandoned coral. I cut the NY skyline on black card stock and adhered it to the panel using double sided foam tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Merry Messages with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
