Hello!! Please join me in welcoming another Monday!! :)
I decided to mix things up today and NOT make a card!! I love making cards but I'm starting to run low on unique Christmas designs. So, I decided to make a few Christmas ornaments instead. Felt seems to be a very popular medium right now and I just so happened to have some kicking around. I used a few different die sets to create my ornaments.
First off, of course, I had to use the Stitched Hearts Die from Waffle Flower Crafts. This is perfect because it already has the holes cut for you. I ran the largest heart, twice, using Red Felt through my BigShot. Now I don't have any nested heart dies to I just aligned the holes of the two pieces and cut the heart shape around them.

I used white embroidery floss to stitch and ripped up cotton balls for stuffing. After I stuffed the heart I stitched in a piece of white ribbon for the holder.
So, this one was really straight forward because these dies were made to be stitched. I wanted to see if I could create ornaments from dies that weren't made for this purpose. And what set would be perfect for this?? Why, the Retro Ornaments Elle-ments from Avery Elle, of course!! It already has three dies in the shape of ornaments as well as little elements to add to them. For these I used Green Felt, Peach Felt and Red Felt. I die cut the smaller, decorative pieces using these same colors as well as an Ivory Felt.
Seeing how these already had a hole at the top, I could just thread some twine through to make the loop. Now why stop there??!! Lastly, I used a rectangle die from the Lacey Layers 2 die set and some Grey Felt. After stitching, stuffing and adding the ribbon, I used the Woodland Basics Die Set from WPlus9 and cut out a bird, leaves, branches and holly to decorate. This set worked perfectly!!!
I also used pieces from this die set to embellish my heart ornament. I should mention that I adhered all the embellishment with Glossy Accents.
I had SO much fun making these things!! It was so gratifying to stretch my supplies! Thank you so much for sticking with me through this long post.
Wishing you all and amazing week!!
Laurie
