Happy Valentine's Day everybody, Nicky back with you today with a dose of adorable bunnies. My card today features the Open Studio/Memory Box stamp set Birthday Bunnies. I couldn't resist getting these as soon as I saw them. They have coordinating dies and there are other bunny sets in the series, so if these appeal to you then you might want to check out the other sets too!
These bunnies remind me of my favourite illustrations from children's books! The background stencil is by Echo Park and is called Mini Leaves Stencil. I just love this stencil and have loads of plans for it but here I blended 3 different colours of distress inks. I can imagine this stencil used with an ombre of greens or with warm autumnal hues among other ideas. You could use sponge daubers to ink through your stencil but I am a huge fan of the beautiful Clarity Stencil Brushes. They've been very popular and are currently sold out at Butterfly Reflections Ink but more are on order so do sign up for them!
The bunnies and balloons were stamped in Archival Ink and then watercolour painted using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The balloons and the rosy cheeks on the bunnies are highlighted using the Uni-Bal Signo White pen. The scene was framed out using MFT Die-Namics Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames which I offset at an angle to give the feeling of movement. Finally the sentiment was nestled into the corner, this was also done using the Archival Ink since it gives such a reliable, rich black image every time.
I hope you enjoyed my card today and I wish you a productive creative week ahead and I'll see you again this time next week. Meanwhile you can follow me and more of my projects on Instagram #nickynoocards, Pinterest and Facebook and my new Etsy Shop.
