Hi Everyone! Happy weekend! I love figuring out how to combine different stamp sets and dies. I think it gives you more bang for the buck and it's a fun to see what happens when different products combine.
Today I mixed City Celebrations with Time to Party.
I started by stamping, die cutting and coloring the cake from Time to Party. The age customization on this stamp set really brings it up a notch. I had a terrible ink accident and messed up one of the banners. Instead of tossing the whole cake, I cut off the banners on both sides, stamped and die cut another image and only colored the banner. I popped it behind the original cake with dimensional adhesive and I love the results. Problem solved. ;)
Next I die cut the City Celebrations and colored it to match. I stamped the sentiment from the coordinating City Celebrations stamp set.
Let's talk about the City Celebrations die for a minute. All the shapes are 99% cut out, except for the star. The star pops right out but all the other buildings, balloons and banner stay in! BUT, if you want to remove a shape it's one or two easy cuts. So cool. Trust me.
To finish my card I adhered the cake to the scene and added a little gold glitter paper behind the star. I also added tons of clear Wink of Stella because the more shimmer the better.
Thanks for stopping by!
