Hello everybody, happy Tuesday to you all and I hope your week is off to a good start! I don't know about you but I'm very picky about the stamp sets that I invest in and I'm always very careful to only buy the ones I know I can get a lot of mileage out of. The Whole Herd by My Favorite Things has to be one of my all time favourites!
I use the pig and the cows from the set more than anything else, so today's card was me, working on me, to use the other characters more and I'm pleased with the results. My card started with a white base of 110lb card stock. Next I used the main die from Blueprints #25 by MFT to provide the full-size panel with the stitched edge. I ink blended it using Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn and Tumbled Glass, slowly building the colour using my beloved Clarity Stencil Brushes. I then distressed the scene using some water splashes and splashes of Salty Ocean mixed with water.
Next I stamped my animals using Ranger Archival Ink in black and then watercolour painted them all delicately using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I then die cut Frightful Fence by MFT.
Using foam tape I adhered all the components into the scene, layering them up on either one or two layers of the tape. I stamped the sentiment using Versamark Ink onto the tag and then heat embossed it using black embossing powder, this too was adhered in place with foam tape (I get through a lot - what can I say)?!
The final touch to this card was a whole lot of 'dotting' with the wonderful Uni-Ball Signo white pen, both into the grass to give a hint of daisies and into the sky (pollen?) and to highlight the blushing cheeks on the animals.
