Welcoming our new DT members for the Spring/Summer term!

Hi, friends. Here we are again ( and already!) welcoming our new Design Team members for the next term. Time really flies and I know I say that all the time, but it's true. My kids were on school vacation this week and I must say, this week did NOT fly by. HA! I'll be honest and say it was a really rough week for me. I try to balance work/family life and it's just SO hard to get work done when they're home 24/7. One would think they'd keep each other occupied, but we call them the Bickersons for a reason. :P Thankfully my hubby was off today so after we took our daughter to breakfast while my son was at a friends', I got some me time and went to Kohl's with my Kohl's cash. haha It was nice to get a break because I had to tap out for a bit. I'm looking forward to them going back to school tomorrow and getting back into our routine. I'll be quite busy packing the 120+ orders I got over the weekend. In case you missed it, I am having a HUGE inventory blowout sale on stamps and dies. They are marked 30-50% and stuff is moving which is great. So many new releases to keep up with and I gotta keep hooking you up with the goods. ;) So let's get to it.

Let's start where I spent a lot of the week... in the laundry room! haha Kelly Martin is joining us from South Carolina. She is married, works full time and has 3 nieces she and her hubby adore. Kelly has never been on a Design Team and you know I love my newbies. Kelly's photo staging definitely didn't seem amateur to me so she won me over and I hope she'll win you over, too!

This next lady had me LAUGHING hard at her application and I love a sense of humor more than almost anything else. Michele Greenwood is joining us from Toto-land (her words! haha), is married with 3 grown children, works full time and does BOOT CAMP 3 times a week. Go, girl. haha This card had me swooning. Just gorgeous!!! Hopefully the

Next up is someone who I consider a friend. She's so sweet and has been so supportive for years now. Kari Webster is joining us from Missouri, she is married, loves her kitties and crafts to unwind from work. She's also been making YouTube videos and recently hit 5000 subscribers so congrats, Kari!

Let's move on to Sweet Home Alabama! haha Tanya Adams is a wife, mom and grandma who works part time at her church. She also has a Yorkie who is her shadow and enjoys spending time in her craft studio. How neat is this box?!

Waleska Galindo is joining us this term as well. Some of you might know her from the Craftin' Desert Divas Design team. She is married with 2 young children and is a graphic designer which lends well to cardmaking. I just adored this froggy scene card. Cuteness!!!

Lastly, Crystal Thompson will be with us. Crystal has been on The HoneyBee Stamps Design Team, Guest Designed for Pretty Pink Posh, has designed stamps for Joy Clair and more! She's married, just built a beautiful new home and recently added a new baby boy to her family, making them a family of 6. <3 I met Crystal in person at CHA this year and she's a beauty, much like this card!

I thought this sentiment was a good place to leave off as I'd like to thank YOU all from the bottom of MY heart. I started my business about 4 years ago and have grown so much in that time. I had people that said I wouldn't be able to do it and sometimes it feels like it's a constant battle of 'I think I can', but I know I can... and I AM! I am so, SO grateful to my loyal customers and friends that support me and my shop. It's hard not to get emotional when I have so much invested from money, my time and so much of my heart. I love my business and I've loved getting to know so many of you personally. My business is personal to me and that's why you'll see a mix of business with my daily life on my IG account. I have had suggestions to separate the two, but honestly, I feel that has been part of my success. I want you to know ME, which includes my children, my hubby, my leggings (HA!), sometimes pics of my messy house, my coffee cup obsession, my bad days, my sarcasm, my humor, my VERY far and few between craft projects, a few selphies and maybe some food and drink pics. ;) I hope that most of you enjoy getting to have a personal contact and experience when you're ordering your craft goodies. Just know that I strive to provide customer service, but I really do consider so many of you friends and I don't think you find that many places. Thank you, THANK YOU, for everything!

I hope you enjoy the new Design Team. We'll see you soon!

Vanessa

Baby Tags featuring the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my  We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool  for the first time and loved it! I cut my own  Tim Holtz watercolor paper  to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer.  I stamped my sentiments that are by  Lawn Fawn Hello Baby  with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral  Distress Inks  and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron  Distress Inks .  I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things  Snuggle Bunnies  for the girl and Magical Dragons for th

Painting backwards....

Hello, hello!  Norine here from The Velvet Lemon blog .  It's been a week for introductions hasn't it, but let me just say how delighted I am to have been invited to join such a talented group of paper crafters, and to contribute here at Butterfly Reflections Ink!   Today I'm sharing with you, some cards I made by working backwards.  What do I mean, you wonder?  Well, it's a technique I sometimes enjoy doing, where you "smoosh" your water based ink pads on a craft mat, mist the colors with water and then drag your water color paper through it to create a pretty mess of color.     For today's cards, I wanted a blend of blues and greens (always a crowd pleaser) and yellows/pinks.  You will always be happier with the results when you keep the green/blues from overlapping with the yellow/pinks, because that just produces an unappealing mud color.   I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Inks for this project, but any water based inks w

Altenew’s 4th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3 + Giveaway

Hey, hey BRI friends!  We're hopping today to celebrate the 4th Birthday of Altenew , one of our favorite stamping companies!  You should have arrived here from the Altenew blog , and we're glad you're here to share the excitement! There are prizes and inspiration and it's going to be FUN! With you today, is Norine from The Velvet Lemon  creating for Butterfly Reflections Ink  and I have some projects to share today, that I made using some recently released Altenew products .   First up, are these two cards created with the Mega Succulent stamp set .   I stamped the image onto water color paper using the MISTI , then turned on the music and sat and colored.   I used Faber Castell watercolor pencils so I could more easily control where the color would sit and then painted with a water brush .  I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of vellum, heat embossed with clear embossing powder to ensure that the ink wouldn't smudge, then tore the vel
