Happy Saturday!
Today I'm sharing this card that was so therapeutic to create!
I was watching a video that a fellow card maker did and she used this fantastic set of watercolor samples that are very inexpensive and a great way to try out some high quality watercolor paints and then decide which ones you'd like to invest in. Find the watercolor set here. For a cardmaker, this option is so economical because you don't really need to use much to make a beautiful looking watercolor masterpiece.
I began by stamping my images from the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set on to my favorite watercolor paper in Versamark ink and then gold heat embossed them.
I then used a small paintbrush and set off to coloring the images. The dots of watercolor on this sample sheet are very concentrated, so the color on the sheet is quite bolder than what will actually appear on your paper when you add the water to it. I recommend trying out these paints on a scratch piece of watercolor paper until you get used to how much water you need for certain levels of concentration. It's also helpful to try the paints on a separate sheet to see how the water moves with the pigment.
After I painted all the images, I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images out. I also used the My Favorite Things wonky stitch rectangle die to die cut a matte piece and then mount it on a piece of foam before adhering it to my pink kraft card base.
I then arranged my floral die cuts that I'd watercolored on to my card and once I was happy with the position of them, I glued them to my base. I then used one of the sentiment stamps from the set and stamped it on the panel in my favorite black ink.
Hope you enjoyed today's card, and thanks for stopping by!
