If You Were Ice Cream... ( Stretching your stamps)

Hello and welcome back!  Kari here with you to share a "yummy" card featuring the Two Scoops stamp set from Sunny Studio!  I had this idea in my head that I wanted to some how add chocolate to my ice cream cone to make it appear as if it had been dipped in chocolate!!

 

To do this, I stamped the layers of my cone as it was intended with the two layers to create a "dimensional" cone.  I used both Doe Ink for my lightest layer, and Walnut Ink for my darker layer.  Then it was time to add the look of my cone dipped in chocolate, so I reversed the cone image ( it doesn't matter which one you use) and I partially inked up the stamp you would normally mount to your block or stamp positioner with a very dark brown ink - in this case I used Espresso Truffle Memento Luxe ink as it was my darkest brown I own.  I didn't care that it was a pigment ink.  You can quickly dry it with your heat tool to speed up the drying process. And, viola!  My chocolate dipped cone is created!  It looks so good, wish I had one right now!

I continued on with the rest of my ice cream, and stamped the three layers with more Lawn Fawn Ink in Sunflower, Carrot, and Fake Tan inks.  I didn't use the dies this time to cut out my images since I added the "chocolate" to my cone.  The dies wouldn't have lined up right.  So, fussy cut it is!  

For the rest of the card, I die cut a white piece of smooth white card stock with the Wonky Stitched Square Stax from MFT, and layered it onto a piece of pattern paper from the Sunshiney Days 6x6.  I purposely lined up my white panel to give my pattern paper a border on just three sides for something different.  I added to that a piece of Sunflower card stock for an additional pop of color.  Before I adhered my ice cream cone, I lightly blended some Minty Fresh ink to bring out more of my Mint card base. I stamped out my greeting from the same stamp set, and for final touches added some sequins from PPP and both some shimmer using my Wink of Stella pen, and glossy accents on certain areas of my ice cream.

So did this card make you crave ice cream??  HA!  I hope you liked how I was able to stretch my stamps a little bit more to create a layer that wasn't apart of the set!
