Hello! It's Andrea with you today. I'm so excited to be joining the amazing design team for Butterfly Reflections, Ink! I just love Vanessa (She is a riot!), and her product selection and customer service can't be beat!
Fall is in the air here, and I couldn't be happier about that! I love waking up to crisp mornings and seeing all of the beautiful colors of fall (The leaves have just started to turn a bit here.) and eating all things pumpkin (My daughter and I made some yummy pumpkin muffins last weekend.)! When I saw this gorgeous Succulent Pumpkin stamp by Impression Obsession, I knew I had to have it. It was just screaming to be watercolored!

I stamped that gorgeous bouquet onto some Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper with Versafine Smokey Gray ink. Normally, I stamp my watercolored images with Onyx Black, but I wanted a softer look. Although I stamped the image twice, I had not planned on making two cards. One was going to be my sample so that I could test my paint colors. Fortunately, I liked it well enough that I was able to make two cards! I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to paint my images. Disclaimer: I'm still relatively new to watercoloring, but it's always good to get outside your comfort zone.
After my panels were dried, I heat-embossed greetings from Sunny Studio's Autumn Greetings set. Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiments with Versamark ink. One was heat-embossed with copper embossing powder; and the other, with gold. I trimmed the panels down a 1/4".
I added a strip of patterned paper from my stash to white cards and then adhered my panels on top. Before gluing the panel on the card pictured above, I added some gold string from my stash. For some sparkle, I covered the succulents with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. To the card without the string, I also added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew for a little interest.
Thank you for stopping by!
Absolutely beautiful! You really got the colours perfect and I love the bow and strip of paper to ground it. Gorgeous.
