Hello Everyone, its Trish here today as a guest designer! As I'm sure everyone is aware, the weather has been absolutely crazy lately with all of these storms. With Florida being my husbands home state and somewhere that we lived together for 4 years, while my husband was stationed down there, we have many family and friends who we are checking in with regularly.
For my card today I decided to use the Hero Arts Color Layering Pineapple Stamp Set, which reminds me of warm weather and palm trees, like down in Florida. I've seen many projects created with this stamp set that include lots of bright and bold colors but I wanted to go for something a little different for my card today.
I started out with creating my own patterned paper background with the stamp set and Lawn Fawn Ink Manatee Ink and Lawn Fawn Hippo Ink. I stamped all of the solid layers of my pineapples tops and then when back in with the second, more detailed layer. Then, I used some bright colors to create a few colored stamped images for my card. I restamped the base of the pineapple in Lawn Fawn Sunflower Ink and Lawn Fawn Doe Ink. For the top, Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass and Lawn Fawn Noble Fir. After stamping the pineapple in color, the card seemed to need just a little more color and so the flowers were stamped in Lawn Fawn Guava and Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers. Once all the images had been stamped, I fussy cut them out and set them aside.
While coming up with the design for my card, I knew that I wanted to have the sentiment heat embossed in Gold. Before stamping with Versamark ink, I prepped the vellum with the EK Success Powder tool to avoid any of the Ranger Super Fine Detailed Gold Embossing Powder from sticking in other places than the sentiment.
Now it was time to put it all together. The patterned paper background was trimmed to 4" x 5.25" and applied using some tape adhesive. The vellum sentiment was trimmed down, flag end cut and adhered using Kool Tak Clear Foam Adhesive. To keep the other elements at the same height as the sentiment, I used Kool Tak to adhere the pineapple and flowers. For a little sparkle, Wink of Stella Clear Brush Marker was applied to the center of the flowers and top of the pineapple. And to complete the card, a few black enamel dots.
Hope you guys enjoyed!
