Hello Butterfly Reflections Ink friends! It's Jung here with you today with a rainbow butterfly card, perfect for happy mail! Also, TGIF!!! We could really use rainbows and sunshine this weekend here in Texas.
I've had the Honey Bee Simple Sentiments: thanks stamp set for quite a while. I was saving this stamp set for when I needed a thank you card, but I decided to get the stamp set out to see if I could create a card without the thank you sentiment. This stamp sent has lots of individual words you can put together to create many different sentiments! I chose to make a "love your kind heart" card. Just like Vanessa, I love butterflies, so I used the butterfly image to create a rainbow card.
To make my card:
1. I repeatedly stamped the butterfly from the Honey Bee stamp set using Lawn Fawn jet black ink on a piece of white cardstock.
2. I cut of the stamped cardstock using a stitched rectangle die.
3. I colored the butterflies using copic markers. I only used 2 markers for each butterfly.
4. I colored in the diamond on each wing of the butterflies with finetec watercolor in gold pearl. I also splattered some of the gold watercolor on the card. I set it aside to dry.
5. I decided to work on the card base. I made my own top folding A2 sized card base out of white cardstock. I taped off the back part of the card base.
6. I created the rainbow ink blended card base with my Tim Holtz ink blending tool, and my beloved distress inks. I used abandoned coral, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn, mermaid lagoon, dusty concord, seedless preserves, and picked raspberry.
7. I adhered the stamped/colored cardstock to my rainbow card base using fun foam.
8. I used 4 words from the stamp set to create my "love your kind heart" sentiment. I stamped it on black cardstock with Versamark ink. I heat set it with white embossing powder.
9. I cut out the sentiment strip and adhered it to my card using foam tape.
10. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins to finish off my card.
I hope you like my card! I'm really happy with how it turned out. I'm so glad I discovered how versatile this stamp set really is. I can't wait to send out this fun little card to a crafty friend!
Happy Friday y'all!
Very colorful and fun.
