Well, hello there! Emily Midgett here today filling in while Vanessa gets her new team up and running.
I don't know about you, but I'm so ready for fall... it seems like summer temps outstay their welcome in my neck of the Midwest. We get a few snippets of fall weather around this time, then all of a sudden summer is back in full force until October. That flip flopping between seasons inspired this color combination... Deep pinks and fuchsias, which for me scream deep summer, creams, but with a hint of autumn in the pops of mustard. Let's get started!
I started by stamping a variety of blooms from Wplus9's Modern Peonies and Modern Anemones onto watercolor paper using Versafine ink, then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then used my Daniel Smith watercolors to color them in shades of pink, fuchsia, cream, and mustard and die cut them using the coordinating Modern Peony and Modern Anemone dies.
After I had added all of the color to the individual pieces, it was time to work on the rest of the card. I first trimmed down a panel of black and white striped patterned paper to A2 size and mounted it on my top-folding card base. Next, I arranged my flowers in a swag in the corner, then used Press 'n Seal to pick them up so that I could add dimensional adhesive to the back without my arrangement moving around. I flipped the Press 'n Seal over and firmly placed my bouquet on my card front.
Next, I die cut the beautiful "hello friend" from Wplus9's Basic Greetings Dies using some mustard colored card stock from my stash and adhered it to my card front. I covered both the anemone centers and the die cut greeting with some Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen, then added Glossy Accents over the top to add lots of shimmer and shine. A few jewels and sequins from my stash finished it off.
There you have it! Lots of dimension, lots of layers, but I think the end result is totally worth it! It was so nice to come back to Butterfly Reflections Ink... I hope you've enjoyed my project. Have a fabulous day!
